Junior (1)

1st Horler’s Hernwood Jack O’Lantern by Rackens. Excellent youngster, super overall make and shape with true Gordon style. Correct head with good balance and stop, dark eye and correct markings. Low set ears, long neck flowing into well set shoulders, correct level topline. Well angulated front and rear, good depth of chest, well muscled and in good coat and condition. Superb on the move. A really promising young male. BP & Res BOB.

2nd Thomas’ Chartan Treacle Tart JW. Pretty bitch with lovely head and expression. Super overall shape, good angulation, correct coat and colour with lovely tan markings. Super mover.

3rd Powell’s Kingilee Maori Secret

Open (4,1ab)

1st Bryant’s Muckypups D’Artagnan JW ShCM Excellent male for size and shape. A real weight carrying hunter. All male head without being heavy. Correct construction all through with excellent muscle tone and the furnishings to complete the picture. Excellent on the move. BOB

2nd Thomas’ Chartan Hermione Grainger. 7 year old female of super overall make and shape. Feminine but true to breed type all over. Moderate angulation, slight wave to coat. Super topline and tail carriage. Sound mover but tended to crab.

3rd Mathewson’s Graylacier Portreath

Junior (2,1ab)

1st Roberts’ Medogold Black Betty by Kananaskis. Just loved this young b/w bitch. So feminine and well made with graceful curves and flowing lines giving a true Pointer outline. Feminine head, excellent angulation front and rear, wonderful overall shape. Super driving movement won her BOB

Post Grad (5,2ab)

1st Crawte’s Sharnphilly Heidi Klum at Leascliffe. Pleasing b/w bitch, feminine head, lovely thin ears, excellent angulation, spring of rib, muscular loins and well set bee sting tail. Sound mover but a bit cow hocked. RBOB

2nd Barnham’s Kenwardgold Minnie Me. Excellent l/w bitch with correct head and ears, moderate angulation and correct tail. Sound mover but not the outline of 1.

3rd Ottway’s Caithpoint Paloma Faith at Castlebank

Open (4,2ab)

1st Crawte’s Leascliffe Luis. Masculine b/w dog of pleasing size and shape. Good head, eyes and ears. Excellent angulation front and rear. Excellent ribbing and depth of chest. Good bone and feet and sound mover.

2nd Crawte’s Leascliffe Lorelei ShCM. b/w bitch, sister to winner but doesn’t have his flowing curves and outline. Well made all through. A little plain in head and carrying and extra pound or two. Sound mover.

FLAT COATED RETRIEVERS

Junior (4)

1st Taite’s Gamerights Troyte. 7 month old black boy with pleasing head type. Excellent bone and overall shape, correct angulation and super free mover. Just right for age with outgoing temperament, super coat and pleased to give him BP.

2nd Delamere’s Gamerights Enigma. Sister of 1, a pretty girl with excellent head and ears, super neck and topline and sound mover. Very close up to winner, the same lovely bred type. They scored in balance and movement over the rest.

3rd Bellamy’s Bochilbarley Izzy’s Moon at Moontorn

Post Grad (3,1ab)

1st Bellamy’s Bochilbarley Blue Moon. Such a lovely outline and shape. Excellent head type, angulation, coat and overall style. Sound mover.RBOB

2nd Delamere’s Gamerights Deep River Blue. A lot to like here too but longer cast which spoilt the overall balance. Good for construction, head type and angulation. Sound mover.

Open (4, 1w/d)

1st Taite’s Gayplume Bowled Over ShCM. Super male with lovely head and ears. Superb coat, size and balance. Correctly made all through , sound mover. Won BOB on his maturity and style.

2nd Phipps, Baker & Baker’s Gemswin Dennis The Menace at Maddouse. Not the quality of 1. Rather long in back, and throaty. Correct angulation, topline and tail carriage. In good coat and sound mover.

3rd Bowen’s Clandrift Midnight Galaxy

LABRADORS

Junior (7,2ab)

1st Jenner’s Lyjansen Simba’s Savanna. What a fabulous young yellow boy. Such presence and style for a pup. Super head and ears, dark eye. Excellent angulation, good bone and feet and well let down hocks. Super topline, barrel ribs and in good coat and fit condition. Excelled on the move, true fore and aft with gaily carried otter tail. My star of the day. BP, BOB and later Gp3 & PGp1.

2nd Metcalfe’s Carromer Jack Flash to Baileydale. Another really niceyellow boy unlucky to meet the winner. Lovely head, dark eye, ears and pigment. Good overall make and shape, correct coat and sound on the move.

3rd Rees’ Eremos Moment in Thyme

Post Grad (4,1ab)

1st Tickner & Welford’s Ankari Dora the Explorer. Very pretty black bitch with best of heads and dark eyes. Good neck, topline, underline and coat. Just a bit long in back for length of leg which spoilt her balance. Good tail carriage and sound mover . Lovely breed type.

2nd Tickner & Welford’s Ankari Bare Necessities. Very similar to his sister and same comments apply. He is changing his coat which placed him 2nd.

3rd King’s Linthwaite Excalibur

1st Jenner’s Rossacre Trail Blazer at Lyjansen. Excellent black dog. Super breed type from head to tail. Still as lovely as when I judged him before but had to give today’s glory to his son. My type of Lab, excellent construction, superb coat and fabulous mover. RBOB.

2nd Rees’ Eremos Perfect Pascali. Yellow bitch with lovely head type. Moderate angulation, good topline, ribbing and shape. Coat soft. Paddled in front movement, rear ok.
