PUPPY (1,0)

1st Payne’s KHANEVE BLACK ICE AT RIDDINCA, 9mth bl/rust male, presenting a smart, compact outline with the right balance of elegance and substance. Masculine head with good length and depth to muzzle, almost parallel planes and enough underjaw. Excellent expression from the darkest of eyes and well-set ears lying close to flat cheeks. Dry, convex neck flows into clean withers and well-laid shoulder, with slightly straight upper arm of equal length. True front and parallel legs with good round bone, firm pasterns and correct tight feet. Good amount of forechest and depth with elbows lying close to brisket and a tidy underline. Excellent straight, slightly sloping topline into correct tailset and rear angulation. Movement showed reach and drive, just needs to tighten up all through as he matures. BPIB, and delighted to see him later take PG1.

JUNIOR (1,0)

1st Gibbons’ KORIFEY AMMOLITE, 15mths br/rust quality male, super sharp and elegant outline, with ample bone and everything in the right place. Head is clean and masculine, with excellent length and depth to muzzle and good underjaw. Narrow, flat backskull framed by well-set ears, which combine with dark almond eyes to give the correct alert expression. Long elegant neck arches into super front assembly matched at the rear. Legs are parallel and close-lying, with strong pasterns and correct catlike feet. Faultless topline, held firm both standing and on the move, sloping slightly into well-filled croup and excellent tailset. Good sweep of stifle and strong straight hocks, would prefer a touch more width of second thigh to match his well-developed forechest and super depth and spring of rib. Moved out well from all angles, displaying great reach through the fore and driving action from the rear. A very close RBOB, just preferred the overall balance and attitude of the Open winner.

1st Gibbons’ ARITAUR BOLLY KNICKERS, 2 ½ bl/r bitch. Standard sized and feminine, clean and compact. Lovely head presenting the required elongated wedge, with parallel planes, enough underjaw, pleasingly flat skull and clean cheeks, with neat close-lying. Loved her typical alert expression from dark almond-shaped eyes. Long elegant neck arching gently into correct front assembly matched at the rear, with ample forechest and a well-sprung ribcage with brisket down to tight elbows . Short sloping topline held on the move, matched by a clean underline with good tuck-up and a short strong loin. Hindquarters are well-muscled with a long well-bent stifle, although a touch steep in croup for me. Strong straight hocks down to well-arched feet. Lovely profile action on the move, accurate from all angles with a long easy stride and good drive from the rear.

2nd Plummer’s GRAFMAX ALFIE BOE, 20mths bl/r, substantial male with a super square outline, well-boned with clearly defined rich markings. Head is masculine with good width and depth of muzzle, almost parallel planes and excellent expression from correct almond-shaped eyes and well-placed ears. Muscular slightly convex neck, although throat could be a touch drier, into clean withers and well-laid shoulder. Front is straight with good forechest and depth, and parallel legs with good round bone and tight feel and elbows. Topline is short and straight, although he has a tendency to roach when stood. Lovely rear, well-muscled with a good turn of stifle and short strong hocks, giving clean purposeful movement in profile, but a little close behind.

1st Jones’ KORIFEY TREASURE JW SHCM. 15mths br/r. Stunning top quality bitch who commands attention as soon as she enters the ring. Super stylish and balanced outline, shown in hard muscular condition and full of attitude. Head is feminine, long and well-filled, with width and depth to muzzle and good underjaw. Parallel planes with slight stop, flat cheeks, well-set ears and dark almond-shaped eyes giving a super arrogant expression. Beautiful long neck arches elegantly into a perfect topline – straight, slightly sloping and held firm at all times. The best of fronts, straight and true with feet turning neither in nor out. Good depth and spring of rib with just the right amount of forechest, standing on parallel legs with ample bone and the tightest of catlike feet. Croup, tailset and underline are excellent, with a well-muscled and powerful rear with enough turn of stifle and superb width of second thigh. Correct and balanced angulation allowed her to power round the ring, footfall-perfect from all angles with great front extension and super rotation and drive from the rear. BOB, and happy to see her go on to WG2.

2nd Evans’ DIAMYST WISH UPON A STAR JW SHCM, 9yr bl/r bitch in super condition. Lovely shape, smart and compact with the right balance of strength and substance. Feminine head with a deep muzzle and parallel planes, neat well-placed ears and almond eyes well-filled under giving that typical Dobermann expression. Beautiful crested neck flows into correct front assembly balanced with the rear, with a good front, straight legs and tight feet. Correct topline, short and firm, sloping slightly into excellent croup and tailset. Movement was harmonious and fluid, but just couldn’t match the vigour of the younger bitch today.
