Judge: Mr Russell F. Jones (Quemerford)

It was a pleasure to judge at this well-run show, many thanks to the committee for the invitation. The weather was fine and it was cool enough inside for the dogs to be shown. Thank you to my steward who kept the ring running smoothly throughout the day.

Pastoral Breeds SAMOYED: PG (Dog or Bitch) (1,0), 1 Ms T. Horntvedt-Phillips, Phariska Expresso Latte: Unfortunately, on his own in this class, a 6yr old dog, well up to size with a pleasing outline. He has a typy masculine head. Just a little down on his pasterns. Side movement was good when he settled, although he tended to side wind when moving to and away. That said awarded him R.BOB.

O (Dog or Bitch) (2,0). 1 Green & O’Brien, Miss M. & Miss. L. Taronakites Kall Me Kosmic: A 3yr old dog with a nice outline and of a nice type. He is a nice size and has a good head, good neck and shoulder placement, although a little wide in front which showed in his movement. He has a good body and angles to rear. He moved soundly around the ring. Pleased to award him BOB & Grp 4.

AVNSC Pastoral: Junior (Dog or Bitch) (1). 1 Mrs D.M.. Taylor, Auziway Abracadabra: A 17mth old Tri coloured Australian Shepherd, bitch. She is of a pleasing type if just a little long and her front assembly could be a little tighter. Her rear assembly is ok. Unfortunately, was a little unsettled on the move, also was a little nervous when anyone went over her. That said I was pleased to award her Res. BOB and Runner-up in the Res.BOB competition.

O (Dog or Bitch) (2,0). 1 Ms D. Butler, Arncroft Aces High Di of Telstar: Norwegian Buhund: A 6yr old dog that has a good outline and is of a pleasing type. Nice masculine head, good neck and forefront, deep body and nice rear quarters. Handled the floor well. Please to award him BOB & Pastoral Grp 3.

2 Mrs D.M. Taylor, Fraytal Sirius Wins via Auziway (Imp Rus.): A 4yr old Australian Shepherd Dog, with merle colouring, pleasing enough outline, just found him a little long, his movement could have been better. Needs to tighten front and rear.

BEST RES. BEST OF BREED PASTORAL: PG (Dog or Bitch) 1 RP & IY Woodward, Drakeshyde Dastardly: Shetland Sheepdog s/w dog aged 7yrs with a good outline and stance. He is of a nice type with a sweet expression and good eye. Strong neck, good fore quarters with plenty of bone, good body and rear quarters. Shown in good coat. Moved well. Well done.  

PASTORAL GROUP Grp 1. Mrs J.A. Ferris: Ferrimere: Fun ’N’ Games: Shetland Sheepdog bitch. 20mths of age very feminine with a very sweet expression. She is of a good type with a super out line. Pleased to award her Grp.1. Moved soundly around the ring.

Grp 2. Miss C. Nolcini, Broadmaynes Eclipse to Nolmacdon, JW, Sh.CM: GSD. A 4yr old dog who was able to handle the floor well. Large dog with an impressive outline and is typy. Masculine head, deep brisket, good-forequarters, firm back and strong rear-quarters. Moved well. 

Grp 3. Ms D. Butler, Arncroft Aces High Di of Telstar: Norwegian Buhund: As previous.

Grp 4. Misa M. & Miss L. Green & O’Brien, Taronakites Kall Me Kosmic: Samoyed. As previous.

PASTORAL PUPPY GROUP Grp 1. Mrs PA Hartfield, Moshanta Making a Move:, Border Collie. What a cracker this 6mth old black & white bitch is. She is a lovely type with a superb outline, moves a dream around the ring. Just loved her pleased to award her P.Grp.1 and to learn that she went Res. Best Puppy in Show. Well done.

Working Breeds BOXER: P (Dog or Bitch) (3,2) 1 Mrs. V. Coward, Barnsgate Eagle Eyed Ernie: An 11mth old Brindle dog that stood alone in this class. He is well up to size, of good type with a nice outline. Liked his good masculine head and strong neck, good front and good strong back, which I would like a little shorter. Strong back end, his second thigh is a little long, which can reflect on his movement. His handler got the most out of him handling him well. I was pleased to award him BOB & BP., Grp.2 in the Adult Grp.& P.Grp.1. Well done.

O (Dog or Bitch) (1.0) 1 Mrs. V. Coward, Barnsgate Perfect Parsley: Brindle of nearly 3yrs of age and dam of the puppy winner, still not back in full condition yet. She is a very pretty girl, very feminine, of good type with a good front and rear and good outline. Pleased to award her R.BOB.

NEWFOUNDLAND: PG. (Dog or Bitch) (1) 1 Mr. G.K & Mrs. R.M. Canning, Zentaur To Those Who Wait: An 18mth old black dog that stood alone in this class. He is well up to size and of good type with a pleasing outline. He has a good head and neck, plenty of bone, firm back with good back end. Moved out well. Pleased to award him BOB & Grp.3.

AVNSC Working: O (Dog or Bitch) (4,1). 1 Cullen & Gregg, Mr. & Mrs. K & Mr D. Philoma Ms Kalifornia: Gt. Schnauzer. A very nice 2yr old bitch that has a nice outline and is of a lovely type. She is very feminine and held her top line on the move. Excellent driving action from the rear. Pleased to award her BOB & W.Grp.1. Many congratulations.

2. Mr. M. & Mrs. A. Blackburn, Ger. Ch. Cristakell April Shadows, JW, Sh.CM: A 3yr old Alaskan Malamute dog that has presence, good type, good outline and a playful temperament. He has a masculine head and nice front and rear. Covered the ground well. Pleased to award him R.BOB & then The Res. Best of Breed Group.

3. Mr. C. & Mrs. L. Thorne, Simden Frostbite: A 4yr old Leonberger dog that is well up to size and of good type and outline. He is pleasing to handle with a masculine head, good front and back end. Moved around the ring soundly, pity he came up against the 2 above.

Grp 2. Mrs. V. Coward, Barnsgate Eagle Eyed Erni: Boxer. As previous.

Grp 3. 1 Mr. G.K & Mrs. R.M. Canning, Zentaur To Those Who Wait: Newfoundland. As previous.

Grp 4. Mrs. R. Chamberlain, Rebeckmar Cass: Rottweiler. A 16mth old bitch that is a pleasing type with a nice outline, she still needs to mature up, but has time on her side. Moved soundly.

WORKING PUPPY GROUP Grp 1. Mrs. V. Coward, Barnsgate Eagle Eyed Ernie: Boxer. As above.

Grp 2. Mr. R. Philpot, Nativespirit’s Mistyrayn: A 7mth old dog Siberian Husky that is of a nice type with a pleasing outline, kept his top-line on the move. Not as mature as 1st, but is a nice dog.
