STANHOPE AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY OPEN SHOW Held on: Sunday 9h September 2018 Judge: Mr Russell F. Jones (Quemerford) It was a pleasure to be invited to Judge at Stanhope Agricultural Society on Sunday 9th September 2018, it was a great day out for all the family, lots to see around the stalls and the show. Many thanks to the Committee and Stewards for their help throughout the day. Lucky the rain held off for most of the day, only a couple of showers. A big thank you to all for the excellent entry, so well done to all exhibitors.

BEST IN SHOW Mr. & Mrs. M. McBeth: Ch./Ir. CH. Silkata Perchance To Dream With Maclaurien, JW, Sh.CM, IR J Ch.: Hungarian Puli 6.5yr old dog. There is something about Pulis they seem to get better with age and this dog does not disappoint. He is a black/grey colour shown in full fettle. He is of a super type with a good out-line and stance. He has a typical mature masculine head with a correct bite and palette, good eyes that shone when I looked at them. Correct length to neck and correct shoulder. Good spring of rib and chest, good tuck up, good back and strong back end with good angles to rear and nice hocks. His coat is well corded and he was well presented. He moved so typical of the Puli breed. I do like to see them hop, skip and turn, I know not every judge appreciates this, but I do because to me that is a Puli. Today I could have quite easily have taken him home with me, I just loved him. Pleased to award him BIS. Well done and thanks for bringing him, it was well worth the 700-mile round trip to judge him.

Res.BEST IN SHOW Cumberland: Mumysami Clicalicious for Yorami.: An 18mth old Min S/H Dachshund dog. What a star, super type, lovely out-line. Moved around the ring as if he owned it. Looked around taking everything in his stride, moved well. He took my eye when he came in the ring. Quite happy to take him home.

BEST PUPPY IN SHOW Mr. Taylor: Kelankins By Design at Bilkenstar: Lhasa Apso. A 9mth old Lhasa Apso dog, an absolute delight, very smart of good type with a nice out-line. Absolutely took over the ring and was very smart on the move. Well done.

Res. BEST PUPPY IN SHOW Johnson & Wilson: Cyangrange My Cuppa Tea. A very nice 11mth old Whippet bitch, very typy with a superb out-line. Was lovely on the move and stood well. Well done.

BEST VET. IN SHOW Jones: Clairdale Willowmena, Sh.CM: An 8yr old Beagle bitch that has a good out-line and is of good type. Loved her movement. A well-deserved winner.

Res. BEST VET. IN SHOW Lorraine: Seymours Bubble And Squeak For Raleniro, Sh.CM: Super Border Terrier lovely type with a lovely out-line, shown in fine fettle with a good coat. Moved out well.

SHETLAND SHEEPDOGS: P (Dog or Bitch) (2,0), 1 Miss E. Bennett, Marsula My Sunshine: Two very nice dog puppies, just 1 month apart in age, maturity was the deciding factor on the day. A 9mth old s/w dog of excellent type with a lovely outline and his coat is so mature for his age. He has a well-balanced head with a correct ear placement. Good length of neck, well laid shoulders, good withers, deep chest, good tuck up and back. Well-muscled back end with good angles and neat hocks. Nice tail set. He moved out well around the ring. A very pleasing puppy awarded him BP & Pastoral P.Grp 1. Well done.     2 Mr. & Mrs. S.K. Goodwin, Highbrook Hobnob: Another nice dog puppy, 8mths of age, s/w is of a good type with a good outline. Not quite as mature as 1st, his coat is still fluffy and soft, but was nicely groomed and is just a little longer in the back than 1st. He is still a quality dog with a lovely balanced head, his neck is just a little shorter than 1st. Good front, chest and back end, excellent angles, neat hocks, good tail set. Pity he came up again the 1st today. He is a good type, I liked him a lot and he was lovely on the move.

J (Dog or Bitch) (3,1). 1 Mr. & Mrs. S.K. Goodwin, Highbrook Hobnob. (as above).     2 Mrs. P. East, Jacquard Who’s Bluffing: S/W bitch, just out of puppy. Another nice type with a pleasing out line. She has a well-balanced head, slightly shorter neck than 1st. Shoulder placement are good, front legs could be a little straighter, good body and rear. Moved well.

G (Dog or Bitch) (3,0), 1 Mrs. P. East, Jacquard Who’s Bluffing. (as above).     2 Jackobs & Walker, Marsullas Nikkoletta: A 10mth old tri bitch of very pleasing type with a nice out-line and very good on the move. I would have liked to see a better front although her back-end was ok.     3 Miss U. Cooper, Keewaydin Kurlew: An 8yr old s/w bitch, that was a bit sluggish on the move. But it of a nice type with a nice outline. Still enjoying her day out.

OD (4,0), 1 Jacobs & Johnson, Willowthorn Dream Gazer: A 2 yr. old s/w dog of a nice clean type, with nice out-line. He has a super harsh coat that was groomed properly, which I love. A well-balanced head, good neck and front and deep brisket. Neat tuck-up, strong back end and neat hocks. Moved well around the ring using all the space available. Pleased to award him BOB and later Pastoral Grp 4. Well done.     2 Mrs. M. Fawcett, Northern Pride For Ronsadale: A 2.5yr old s/w dog that is of good type with a nice outline. Shame he came up against 1st placing.     3 Mrs. D. Tinkler, Hillhenry Winter Storm Over Riggsbeck, JW: A 3.5yr old b/m dog of a nice type and out-line, spoilt today by moving far too fast around the ring.

OB (6,1), 1 Miss V. Cooper, Keewaydin Mayhem: A 4 yr. old dark s/w bitch of good type with a nice outline, moved well around the ring with not a care in the world. She has a good head and neck, neat front and good rear. Her coat was nicely presented. Pleased to award her Res.BOB.    2 Mrs. P. East, Jacquard Unexpected Gift: A 4yr old s/w bitch that is of good type with a good out-line. She was just over-shone by 1st today. Good mover, very nice.     3 C. & J. Clegram, Simcoourt The Show Must Go On At Smiddyshaw: A 5yr old s/w bitch of nice type and outline, she is a good mover, pity she came up against the others today.

ROUGH COLLIE: PG (Dog or Bitch) (2,1), 1 Brand & Reid, Ronansprey Ronan Kisses: A 5yr old tri coloured dog, that is well up to size. He is a nice type with a pleasing outline. Unfortunately, he paced all around the ring, also his teeth needed cleaning.

O (Dog or Bitch) (6,4), 1 Brand & Reid, Ronansprey Rumour Has It, Sh.CM: A 5yr old merle bitch that is of a nice type with a pleasing outline. She was well presented and groomed properly which I appreciated. Moved nicely around the ring. Pleased to award her BOB.     2 P. Sibbald, Ch. Lynmead Amalie Lucy Locket At Telforth: A 8yr old s/w bitch unfortunately today needed more grooming, she is a lovely type with a nice outline, enjoyed her day out, she just plodded around the ring talking all in her sights, can’t blame her.

Ferguson, Mellowdee Moriarty With Lexalby, Sh.CM: Dog. A 2.5yr old OES that was well presented and is of good type and with a good out-line. He is a square dog of good proportions, balanced head, good neck, neat front, gentle rise to loin, good angles to rear with neat hocks. His coat is coming along nicely and he was well groomed. He moved effortlessly with plenty of hind action, pity he met the 1st. Well done.     Grp 3. Kellett & Burrow, Fostebrie Exotique Of Kellbry: A 14mths old black Briard dog that was giving away so much at this age. He is a good type with a very pleasing out-line. He keeps his top-line on the move. He was well presented with a good coat, should mature up well, like to see hm in a year’s time.    Grp 4. Jacobs & Johnson, Willowthorn Dream Gazer: Shetland S/dog. D. As prev.

PASTORAL PUPPY GROUP Grp 1. Miss E. Bennett, Marsula My Sunshine: Shetland Sheepdog. D. As prev.     Grp 2. Russell, Elvinville Hugo Boss: Briard, D. Just coming 6mths and still quite raw. He has a pleasing out-line and a level top-line. Needs to settle on the move.     Grp 3. Johnson & Ambler, Wicked Sensations: Border Collie, D. A b/w that is nearly 12mths of age. He is a pleasing type, that needs to settle on the move. Should do ok.

AV Pastoral: V (Dog or Bitch) (8E, 1). 1 Grant, Locheil All That’s Magical Avec Coussiere: B. (Border Collie). A 10yr old b/w that is still in fine fettle, moves out very well. Good type and outline.    2 Lawless & Donaldson, CH/IR CH Revloch Celebrity Status, JW, Sh.CM: B. (Briard). A 7yrs old bitch of good type with a good outline. Moved well, just piped by the Border Collie. Very Nice.     3 Clegram, Smiddyshaw Relight My Fire, Sh.CM: B. (Shetland Sheepdog). Unfortunately left the ring before I could make any notes.     4 Reay, Jacqueilas Dawns Melody, Sh.CM: B. (Pembroke Corgi).

AVNSC Working: O (Dog or Bitch) (1E). 1 Blaney, IR. Ch. Sedog Brutte Coffe A Del Fenrirkin, (Greenland Dog): A 2.5yr old dog stood alone in this class. Good dark colour. He is well up to size and is of a nice type with a good outline. He is very masculine, so can be a handful. He was well handled today. Has good head properties, good neck, also good angles to front and rear. Covered the ground well. Pleased to award him Best NSC Working.

WORKING GROUP Grp 1. Dickson: Zentaur Der Kapitan Wispered Omen, JW: Newfoundland. A Black dog nearly 2yrs of age. He is a well grown dog of good size and of good type with a good out-line. He has a masculine head, good length of neck, well laid shoulder with good angles, strong back, muscular back end with good angles. He moved around the ring with ease. Well done.     Grp 2. Richardson, Jasprico Flower Bomb: Bitch. An 8yr old Dobermann that was not showing her age. She is well balanced and of good type with a nice outline. Moved well, just pipped by the winner. Credit to her owners.    Grp 3. Blaney, Viking Fenrir Kin Of Kiyara’s Wolf Pak: A 5yr old Alaskan Malamute dog. He is a nice type with a good out-line, correct top-line and neat front. I particularly liked his rear, moved well.    Grp 4. Bateman-Hall, Jacalous Lone Wold, Sh.CM: Siberian Husky. A 4yr old dog of a pleasing type and nice out-line, moved out ok. Just a shame that he came up against the others.

WORKING PUPPY GROUP Grp 1. McLellan, Roucandane Phoenix Rising At Anadain: An 8mth old fawn Great Dane bitch. She is well grown and stood alone in this class. That said she is a pleasing type with a nice out-line. Moves well for her age.

AV Working: O (Dog or Bitch) (4E, 1A). 1 Black, Camnoire Crush Blackcoast, JW, Sh.CM: A 2yr old black Newfoundland bitch of good type with a good outline. She has a good head and neck, neat front and good angles to rear. She kept her top-line on the move and covered the ground well.     2 Adair, King OF Helluland Love Actually At Darebear: An 11mth old black Newfoundland bitch, she still has some growing to do as her head needs or fill out. Her back needs to harden as she dips and is unable to hold her top-line. This should put itself right with maturity, she covers the ground well. Nice type.    3 Grimes, Fortonpark Future Dreams: A 2.5yr old Bernese MD bitch that had a young handler with her today that had little or no experience. This bitch is typical of her breed. She is of a nice type with a pleasing outline and was very patient with her handler. Well done. Superb temperament.

AV Working: V (Dog or Bitch) (3E, 0). 1 Richardson, Sharyste Dark Delection a Jasprico: A black and tan Dobermann dog of very good type a good outline. He held himself well and was good on the move, good hard muscles throughout.    2 Blaney, Ch. Wingberg Paparazzi To Fenrirkin, Sh.CM: An 8yr old Malamute bitch that was shown in good coat. She is of good type with a nice out-line and has a lovely sloping top-line on the move but not when she is stacked. Shame as I really like her.    3 Scott, Jarwinfeld Tiger Boy: An 8yr old Bullmastiff dog that was enjoying his day out. Un-fortunately not as sound on the move.
