Judge Mr R.J. Gunn.

My thanks to the officers and committee for all their hospitality on the day. Both my daughter and I had a thoroughly enjoyable day at the show which was very well run and had such a great atmosphere. I would also like to thank my stewards who throughout the day kept the ring running smoothly.

I was delighted with the line up I had for Best In Show, it was full of quality dogs that were true representations of their breeds, all were presented in fabulous condition and are a credit to their owners.

Best in show and Best Puppy in Show went to the beautiful salt and pepper Miniature Schnauzer Penbro Put A Spell On You owned by R Woods. This beautifully constructed bitch at only 9 months of age just took my breath away and she is so mature for her age. I loved her from head to toe, squarely built and with an exquisite expression from her dark oval eyes with beautiful eyebrows over them. Typical well proportioned head with good length, narrowing gradually from her high set V shaped ears to her nose and with a beautiful moustache. Well made front with straight legs with nice bone, well laid back shoulders all set around her deep, moderately broad chest with well sprung ribs and her breast bone prominent. Short in her loin with a high set tail to her rear, well muscled slanting thighs and then her angles from her stifles to her hocks complimenting her neck line. All of her excellent construction came together when she moved showing good reach in front and drive from behind in a free and vigorous style. I am sure that this exquisite bitch is destined for higher things in her future.

For my Reserve Best In Show I chose the beautiful Ibizan Hound Afilador Room On The Broom owned by Mr & Mrs Carter and presented in such fabulous condition as were all her hounds. Absolutely stunning chestnut and white bitch who is full of breed type and was presented in fabulous condition. Beautifully balanced throughout she is a finely built tall bitch. I loved her fine long head which is well proportioned and flat in skull. Amber coloured almond shape to her eyes giving her a great expression. Her neck is muscular and of good length with a slight arch. Well made front with a steep slope to her short shoulder blades and long straight legs all set around her prominent breast bone. Nice depth to her chest with her long, flat ribcage which tucks up to her short loin. Well made rear with good length and well muscled. Good feet with well arched toes and nicely padded. On the move all of her attributes showed as she moved with that beautiful suspended trotting action covering the ground well.

Best Puppy In Show the Miniature Schnauzer Penbro Put A Spell On You owned by R Woods.

Reserve Best Puppy in show was the German Sheppard Kombiniert Gerti At Chapelforge who at just over 9 months of age was a stunning example of her breed. Presented in good coat and muscle she is balanced throughout. I loved her head which was in proportion to her body and has good width between her ears. She has a slight dome to her forehead, strong muzzle of correct length and beautiful almond shape to her eyes giving a confident expression. Well made front with balancing length to her shoulders and upper arms all covered with strong muscles. Her chest is deep with well formed long ribs and she has a short loin. Strong and powerful rear with her angulation matching her front and all well muscled. When she moved she showed great soundness in her steps keeping her backline well.

Best Veteran In Show went to the Pointer Wynbury Ailsa owned by C Tannahill who at just over 7 years of age though she was still in puppy. Well made and symmetrical in her outline. She has a nicely proportioned head with a well defined stop and a bright expression from her dark eyes. Well made front quarters and matching angulation to her powerful rear she was able to move around the ring with great drive from her well muscled rear also with that all important tail which lashed from side to side.

Reserve Best Veteran In Show was the Tibetan Spaniel Ch Chenrezi Keeper Of Dreams ShCM owned by G & T Quest. A well balanced beautiful bitch of 9 years of age. Correct in her head with a slight dome to her skull and beautiful expression from her oval shaped dark eyes. Well laid back shoulders to her front, nice length of body and well muscled rear with a moderate turn of stifle. She moved well around the ring with a free and positive action and she was presented in an excellent silky coat.

Best Reserve Best Of Breed In Show went to the Chinese Crested Candycresteds Send Me To Hollywood(IMP) owned by M Swain. A beautiful white and black bitch of just over 5 years of age. One I have seen before and she has matured well. I loved her head which is slightly rounded and has dark almond eyes. Nice crest on her head and neck complimented by her feathering on her feet and tail. Correct front with good layback of shoulder and good depth of chest with moderate tuck up to her underline. Strong well muscled rear with her angulation giving her a level back. She moved well demonstrating good length of stride.
