Llandysul & District Canine Society open show 29.09.18

Judge Mr R.J.Gunn.

My thanks to the officers and committee for their invitation to judge and for all of their hospitality on the day. I had some superb dogs to judge and the line up for best in show was full of quality dogs all of whom were worthy winners.

Lewis Mr D.M Trixhund Opium JW ShCM. (Dachshund Long-Haired).

A dog I have admired and judged previously and he just continues to improve every time. Balanced throughout he was presented in fabulous coat and muscle. Typical head with that conical shape and a slight arch to his skull with a dark almond shape to his eye giving good expression. Well made front with good depth of brisket and a prominent breast bone. Correct shoulders of good length and good return of upper arm. Strong, muscular loin with slight arch over and good width to his loin. Excellent rear with long upper thighs, strong muscles and balancing angles to his front. On the move he showed great drive from behind as he covered the ground easily and with good length to his stride.

Reserve best in show.

Skivington Mr R Ajatiaza’s Cherish Me (Chinese Crested).

A beautifully balanced bitch full of breed type I loved her head which is slightly rounded and tapers to her muzzle with excellent chiselling to sides. Beautiful expression from her dark almond eyes with her excellent crest starting at her stop. Well made front with a clean and well laid back shoulders with her elbows tucked nicely under her deep chest. Well made rear quarters with excellent muscle and strong hocks. On the move she demonstrated her excellent conformation with her long flowing strides.

Best puppy in show.

Rushton Mr C.M Starrytown Perstadizze For Nereides (Newfoundland).

A strong, powerful and well bodied bitch full of breed type and sound throughout. I loved her head which is broad and with a well developed occipital bone and her relatively small dark eye giving a great expression. Straight front with strong muscle and her elbows close fitting. Broad and deep in her chest with a level top line and a well muscled loin. Strong hind quarters with excellent muscle. Nice large webbed feet to finish the picture of this beautiful bitch. She moved freely around the ring with a slight rolling action.

Reserve best puppy in show.

Webb Mrs R.A Redeshka Sweet Gypsy Rose (Irish Setter).

A beautifully presented bitch in excellent coat and well muscled. Correct in her head with an intelligent expression from her dark almond shaped eyes. Good length of neck with a slight arch down to her well made front with sloping shoulders and nice small firm feet. Well bent stifles to her rear with good length from her hip to her hocks. She moved well around the ring with good length of stride and driving from her rear.

Best veteran in show.

Williams Mr G & Mrs B.L Tickbern Oklahoma In Tinland ShCM (Bernese Mountain Dog).

A strong 7 year old bitch who was not giving away her age today. Correct in her head with a flat skull and a well defined stop between her dark almond shaped eyes. Well made front with long sloping shoulders lying flat. Well ribbed deep chest reaching her elbows and broad width to her body. Muscular rear with well bent stifles and strong hocks. She moved with a long and flowing stride covering the ground well.

Reserve best veteran in show.

Bundy Mrs M Cilsaig Lighning Bolt (Boston Terrier).

A cobby well built 8 year old dog of correct size. Masculine in his head which appeared square with a well defined stop and a short square muzzle. Well made front with good width between his legs and sloping shoulders. Deep in his chest with good spring of rib, short back and a muscular rump with a low set short tail. Well muscled rear with a good turn of stifle and well let down hocks. He moved gracefully around the ring with a good rhythm to his movement.

A beautiful balanced bitch who I have admired before and now she has matured well. I loved her head which has that otter like shape of good width and dark eyes giving an intelligent expression. Correct in front and rear and presented in excellent muscular condition she moved soundly around the ring. B.O.B. and pleased to give her 1st in the terrier group.

2nd Read Mr B.J. & Mrs A.E. Roxambor Miltonbury Sunrise At Roxambor.

Quality dog well made throughout and again presented in great condition he is balanced throughout. Correct in his head and good front and rear I am sure this dog could easily do a day’s work.

A compact and well balanced bitch who stood well but was not happy when moving. Slightly rounded broad skull with nice oval dark eyes. Straight front with a good lay of shoulders and well sprung ribs. Strong rear with excellent muscle but sadly she did not want to move as she should in the ring. B.O.B. and 3rd in the terrier group.

She moved freely around the ring with good drive from behind. B.O.B.

A well balanced dog of correct size. Correct in his front and rear he was presented in excellent muscular condition which enabled him to move soundly around the ring.

Handsome dog compactly built but full of quality and balanced throughout. Correct head of nice proportions appearing flat on top and tapering to his muzzle with an oval bright expressive eye. Well laid back shoulders with good return of upper arm and balancing with his strong rear angulation. His body is deep with a slight arch over his loin. On the move he had a long reaching stride with his hind legs coming well underneath him. B.O.B.

A beautiful balanced tri colour bitch. Typical head with a slight dome and of moderate width. Dark eyes set nicely apart giving good expression. Straight front with well laid back shoulders and legs set well under her deep chest. Short coupled with a muscular loin and well bent stifles to her rear. On the move she had long free strides with excellent drive from behind.

2nd Cornell Mrs S. Bellvalley Annabell From Bronllys.

Compact well made bitch of correct size. In profile she has a typical head with low set ears and she is short in length. Good front and rear quarters all covered with excellent muscle which she used well when moving covering the ground with great length to her stride.

I loved this compact and sturdily built tri colour dog. Masculine head of correct proportions and a dark eye giving an appealing expression. Well laid back shoulders to his front and straight legs set well under his deep chest. To his rear he has well bent stifles that compliment his front and strong muscles. Nice tight firm feet and high set tail carried upwards. On the move all of his excellent conformation shone through as he drove well from behind covering the ground with ease. Quality bitch well balanced throughout she is compact in her size and short coupled. Typical head and well made front and rear with good muscle she moved with ease around the ring.

Beautifulyl made bitch of moderate length and presented in a harsh coat. Balanced head of good length and an almond shape to her eyes with a nice ridge above. Well laid shoulders with good return of upper arm. Muscular body clear of the ground and a strong broad rump. Well made rear with excellent muscle which allowed her to move easily with good drive around the ring. B.O.B. and hound group 3rd.

Refined bitch of nice size and presented in excellent muscle. She is balanced throughout with a well made front which is complimented by her powerful rear. She moved with a free and flowing stride around the ring.

A compactly built bitch correct in head and eye she was nicely proportioned throughout and presented in good muscular condition. Moved well in the ring.
