Hitchin and DCS Open Show – Gordon Setters 14/10/2018

Thank you to the society for my invitation to judge and to my stewards.

GORDON SETTERS – P (2/2a) 1. J (2) Two 17m old bitches 1. Sandiford Hernwood Aphrodite. A bitch I have recently judged and still a delightful feminine bitch. Moved with such verve in this class – shame something spooked her and her movement wasn’t as true in the next class. She has a lovely deep chest, good shoulder placement with a lovely topline which she holds on the move. 2. Justice Ludstar La La Land to Liric (IMP It) Loved this bitches head.  Just at that in between Gordon stage of her development.  Well up for size with a super forechest. She just couldn’t match the movement of 1. PG (3/1a) 1. Norman and Robertson Yennadon Kyllachy. 2 ½ yr old compact male who is well angled fore and aft. Good head, although would prefer a darker eye, just needs to develop in body. Moved with purpose which won him the class. 2. H Aphrodite. O (2) 1 and BOB Sandiford and Lewis Benbuie Rock On to Hernwood JW This 5 yr old male is in his prime. My notes say stunning. I loved his overall settery shape. A beautiful head, ample forechest, straight front and super rear angulation with strong hocks. Level in topline which he held whilst driving round the ring – a pleasure to watch. Well done on group short list. 2 and RBOB Poynter Hernwood Prince of Thieves JW Nearly 4 yr old male well up for size but balanced. Well made all through. Good movement in profile, holding his topline just a little close behind today.
