Nidderdale Agricultural Society Monday 24th September

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the officers and committee for their invitation and hospitality on the day. First time at this show set in the wonderful valley and Yorkshire area of Nidderdale. Bigger praise too many of the exhibitors for turning up to an open show during the week and though some of the classes were numerically low, the quality of exhibits on the day were wonderful.

Basenji Puppy D/B (0) – No Entries

Basenji Special Yearling D/B (2, 1A) - 1st Mrs S Knowles, Tokaji Klassic Trickster At Sarawana. 20 month old dog of good type. Chiselled head, dark almond eye. Good front with lay of shoulder, level topline and spring of rib. Sound on the move coming and going with lovely side profile movement. Another that stood alone on the day but a lovely exhibit and Best of Breed.

Basenji Post Graduate D/B (2, 1A) – 1st As Special Yearling

Basenji Open D/B (2, 2A) – No Entries

Whippet Puppy D/B (3, 1A) – 1st Mrs M Head, Demerlay Sweet Dreams, 9 month old bitch and beautifully presented. Lovely feminine head with well-placed rose ears. Good front set on lovely tight feet, good tuck up and well angulated hind quarters. Moved very sound coming and going with a lovely profile movement. Pleased to award Best Puppy. 2nd Mrs J Jones, Kenaiteen Blizzard, 11 month old bitch, feminine head with pleasing eye and ear set. Good front and body. Adequate tuck up and rear angulation. Just preferred the movement of my winner today.

Whippet Graduate D/B (1) – 1st Winner of Puppy Class

Whippet Post Graduate D/B (2) – 1st Mrs D Clark, Coynachie Crazy Desire, 3 year old male with a with good eye placement. Good reach of neck into a good front and well placed shoulders. Good body with spring of rib, rear angulation was muscular and adequate. Moved very well and was so sound in all directions. 2nd Mrs DM & Mrs LD Winup & Paipala, Rogansrock Lucky Charm, 2 year old bitch. Lovely feminine head, good eye, ear placement and well arched neck, lovely front with good body type. Moved well.

Whippet Open Dog (4, 1A) – 1st Mrs M Head Demerlay Snowy Owl, 20 month old male of good type. Masculine head with good dark eye and well placed ears. Good front with well-placed shoulders, Straight legs with good tight feet. Adequate tuck up and body type which flowed into well-muscled rear angulation. Moved very soundly with super ground covering action. Had no hesitation to award Best of Breed. 2nd Mrs D Clark, Whilloer Wait On Me, 6 year old male, shown in good condition. Good head with pleasing eye, Good front with tight feet, good topline with tuck up. Moved soundly though just preferred today’s winner. 3rd Mrs DM & Mrs LD Winup & Paipala, Blandings Bourbon Cum Rogansrock.

Whippet Open Bitch (1) – 1st Mrs DM & Mrs LD Winup & Paipala, Wakebarrow Weeping Willow Cum Rogansrock, 4 year old bitch. Lovely feminine head with correct eye and ear placement. Good front with lovely topline and good spring of rib. Moved soundly.

Bearded Colllie Puppy D/B (1)– 1st Mrs D Weightman, High Flying Sexy Dancer At Debbeacol (Imp Swe), 8 month old bitch with a pretty feminine head and expression with good pigmentation. Lovely front with adequate bone, good body with level topline leading into lovely rear angulation. For a youngster she moved so soundly and covered the ground really well.

Bearded Collie Special Yearling D/B (2, 1A) – 1st Mrs G & Mr T Shaw, Ramsgrove Sun Charm, 16 month old male with pleasing head and expression. Good front and chest with well placed shoulders. Level topline with adequate spring of rib. Moved well.

Bearded Collie Post Graduate D/B (3, 2A) – 1st Mrs D K & Mr B Perkins, Saskyadu Your So Magical,3 year old with a pretty feminine head and strong muzzle. Good bone with good front and level topline. Moved well with a good length of stride.

Bearded Collie Open D/B (2)– 1st Ms S Jenkinson, Kiltondale Spring Evening, 4 year old bitch with a lovely head and pleasing expression, well developed front with straight legs. Excellent body with adequate spring of rib. Good turn of stifle with hocks well laid down, movement was good with super reach and drive. Was pleased to award Best of Breed. 2nd Mrs D K & Mr B Perkins, Saskyadu Your So Magical, 3 year old bitch, gave a lovely feminine head and front with level topline and good rear angulation. Moved soundly

Rough Collie Puppy D/B (4) – 1st Mrs J White, Mejola Physical Attraction, 8 month old bitch, lovely head with adequate stop. Lovely body type with adequate spring of rib. Moved soundly and easily with drive 2nd Dr L W Boyle, Barrenclough Golden Linnet, 11 month old bitch lovely expression and ear set, lovely body and spring of rib. Another with good movement for a youngster. 3rd Mrs P & Mr P J Savage, Peblu Gold Reflection At Savataurus.

Rough Collie SpeciaL Yearling D/B (6, 2A) – 1st Dr L W Boyle, Barrenclough Heart Of Gold, 11 month old bitch and litter sister to my puppy 2nd similar remarks apply though preferred the reach of neck on this litter mate and the outline was very impressive. Never put a foot wrong on the move which was sound in all directions. I was pleased to award Best Puppy and also Best of Breed . 2nd Mrs G Whitaker, Siluto Misterious Girl, 8 month old bitch, pleasing head with good eye and ear placement. Good reach of neck with level topline. Movement was sound and free. 3rd Mrs J White, Mejola Main Attraction.

Rough Collie Post Graduate D/B (2) 1st As Special Yearling. 2nd Mrs R & Mr S Copsey Gemheid Lilac Light At Roshura, 4 year old bitch with a lovely head and foreface. Good eye placing and well used ears. Good body type with spring of rib. Moved soundly though overall just preferred my class winner today.

Rough Collie Open D/B (1) 1st Mrs P & Mr P J Savage, Savataurus Only The Lonely Vet Ch, 6 year old male and though approaching veteran does not show this. Pleasing head with slight stop, good eye and well placed ears. Good front with ample neck and depth of chest. Lovely body with spring of rib and good rear angulation. Movement was sound in all directions, though in the challenge just gave away to my BOB. Shown in good condition.

German Shepherd Puppy D/B (1) 1st Miss S & Mr D Woodhall & Holyoake Hundenkraft Kara, 8 month old bitch very feminine head and expression, correct eye placement with well-set ears, clean topline with adequate croup. Today she took time to be settled on the move giving her handler a difficult time, though once she settled her movement was sound with no exaggeration. Best Puppy

German Shepherd Open D/B (3) – 1st Mrs S & Mr A Forman, Suzdans Frozen In Blue Sh CM,4 year old male with a very masculine head and expression with well-placed ears. Good reach of neck with a good front and depth of chest. Lovely topline with a well moulded croup. Good rear angulation with adequate turn of stifle, Movement was sound coming and going but came into his own on the side profile with powerful reach and drive. 2nd Mr & Mrs Mirecki, Julieanda Texas Gold By Wakanda Sh CM, 11 year old male who was presented today in good condition. Good head and expression. Good front with level topline and good rear angulation. Moved soundly in all directions. A credit to the owners. 3rd Miss S & Mr D Woodhall & Holyoake Hundenkraft Kara.

Rottweiler Puppy D/B (1) – 1st Mr A T Urwin, Jianerot Kristabel, 11 month old bitch of good type. Good head with dark eye and well placed ears. Good front and chest with adequate reach of neck, good level topline with good rear angulation. Coat texture and condition was also good, on the move for a puppy was so sound coming and going with an excellent side profile giving good reach and drive. Though she stood alone on the day was a good exhibit and was worthy of both Best Puppy and Best of Breed
