South Wales & West Of England Cairn Terrier Club

South Wales and West of England Cairn Terrier Club 18th August 2018 Royal Welsh Showground Many thanks to the Officers and Committee of the South Wales and West of England Cairn Terrier Club for the privilege of judging a Breed club Show. I thoroughly enjoyed my afternoon with the Cairns. Veteran d or b-2 entries 1st-Dolan’s Ch Glenrood Masquerade What a lovely one to start the day with. Her outline caught my eye immediately, super correct proportions, lovely feminine head, good top line, correct tail carriage and ground covering movement. Great condition and presentation. Finished up res B and then Res BIS and is still very competitive. 2nd-Smith’s Glenmear Sproxton Lad of Gethlee Lighter framed girl and a bit close behind. Not the animation of the winner but looking well for her age. Minor puppy dog-4 entries 1st-Parker-Tucker’s Tom Trick’s Incredibly Islay of Uniquecottage (imp Swe) Typy boy, masculine, super temperament, good head developing, lovely rear, good coat. A worthy BPIS. 2nd-Bateman’s Carradine Whiskey Mac Promising youngster, head still needs to develop and not as tidy on the move as the winner. Puppy dog-2 entries,1 absent 1st-Shannon & Storr’s Cale Hill’s Go Above and Beyond for Brenndarcy (imp DNK) 9 months and a bit in between at the moment. Good headed boy and when he concentrated looked the part. Should look better with maturity. Junior dog-2 entries, 1 absent 1st-Keeves’ Seveek Treasure The Dream 16 month boy and obviously a slow maturer. I liked his head proportions and good coat coming through. Would prefer a little more rear angulation. Post graduate dog-1 entry 1st-Peers Tweedisle Tugman Quality boy, correct proportions, lovely outline, good rear, super showy temperament and was competitive in the best male line up. Open dog-7 entries, 2 absent 1st Shopland’s Trekhilli Mister Bean at Cherrycrack Interesting class to sort out. This boy handled really well on the table, mature, decent muscle, good proportions, attractive expression and a sound mover. Not the most animated but typical. Finished best male. 2nd-Parker-Tucker’s Uniquecottage Silver Askin This one caught my eye when he entered the ring with his great attitude, good head carriage, super tail set and carriage. Res best male. Minor puppy b-4entries, 2 absent 1st-Waugh’s Tricannon Bourbon Mature for 6 months, good top line, head well developed. A little narrow behind. 2nd-Bateman & Ravenhill’s Carradine Fizz Bomb Older girl but not as advanced as the winner, decent outline. Will be interesting to see how she develops. Puppy b-2 entries 1st-Bateman’s Carradine Mon Mon Sherry Nice size and type, not cooperating on the move but looked good in stance, coat could be a touch harder. I liked her proportions. 2nd-Peers Tweedisle Remember Dee At a difficult stage, coat a bit on the blow and another that was not really cooperating on the move, Good head. Junior b-3 entries, 1 absent 1st-Thomas’s Tycadno Dancing Star The star of the show and had my attention immediately as she is so showy. Great balance with cracking proportions and just the right amount of bone and substance. She has a lovely feminine head, great top line, tail set and carriage is excellent, she is sound in all directions and possessed one of the best fronts here today. Great animation and really well presented. Just ticked all the boxes. Best b and a well deserved BIS. 2nd- Thompson’s Glenrood Love In a Mist Good sort of bitch. Not the animation of the winner. Ok on the move. Novice b-2 entries, 1 absent 1st-Thompson’s Castleline Caledonian Lass Good temperament, decent top line and tailset, lacking some furnishings which made her look leggy and short of bone. Post graduate b-3 entries 1st-Parker-Tucker’s Uniquecottage Fennel Typy, good size, super outline, good head, decent jacket, lovely tail, covered the ground well. 2nd-Shopland’s Cherrycrack Fair Rosamund Lovely attitude, great top line, a bit up on the leg and not quite the bone of the winner. Open b-7 entries, 2 absent 1st-Dolan’s Glenrood Spell Dance Good sized girl, lovely proportions, her lovely outline won her the class, animated and moved soundly. Ended up in a battle with her veteran kennel mate for Res BB 2nd- Shannon & Storr’s Ch Brenndarcy Cloudbusting Lots to like about this girl starting with her classic head, excellent jacket, lovely tail and in stance looks absolutely super.
