Many thanks to the club for the invitation to judge this lovely show. I really enjoyed my day and the hospitality was great. The venue is ideal for a summer show, just a pity that it was so hot as the heat did get to some of the exhibits. Nonetheless, thank you to all the exhibitors for coming out, the atmosphere around the ring was great, everyone enjoying their day with our beautiful dogs relaxing and having fun. That’s what our hobby is all about!

Thank you also to my steward for the smooth running of the ring throughout the day.

Minor Puppy Bitch

1st Mrs S Kourea’s CLOONMANNA CASSIA

There’s a lot to like about her. Pleasing head with raised brows and a cheeky expression. Unshelled almond shaped eye, with low set ears. She has good arch to her neck leading to good lay back of shoulder. She has a rich dark chestnut coat that was presented in lovely condition. She is well angulated fore & aft and her ribs are well sprung. She moved with real drive and purpose around the ring. Handler did struggle to get the best from her as she was showing her true ‘irish’ spirit but I was able to see enough to appreciate her qualities. Pleased to award her Best Puppy Bitch & BPIS.

2nd Fox’s KERRYFAIR SPECIAL DIAMOND

This was another lovely girl. Smaller made all through than the winner but she has a nice head and expression. Good arch to her neck leading into a straight front and nice neat feet. She has moderate angulation all through. She had a good croup leading to correct tail set. She moved well and was very steady moving around the ring for such a baby.

Puppy Dog

1st Bailey’s DANAWAY DESERT SONG

11 month old boy who presents a nice balanced picture. He is well bodied for his age. Good head with plenty of stop and good expression. He has a good straight front with good angulation. He has plenty substance all through with good depth and correct tail set. He moved well and was presented in good condition. Best Puppy Dog.

2nd Tye’s BRAIDMOUNT COME TO ME

This boy didn’t fully co-operate with his handler but managed to see enough. He is slightly rangier boy all through and up on his legs. Pleasing head and expression with nice dark eyes and low set ears. He has a good arch to his neck leading into nice straight front. He moved OK, but had good drive. His tail set was slightly lower than I would prefer at this stage, but this may come.

Junior Dog

1st Russells LYNWOOD HOCUS POCUS AT SETTESOLI

This is a great young dog. He presents a lovely picture when stood and is at the right stage for his age. He has a lovely head with a melting expression with correct unshelled almond shaped eyes. He has a good length to his neck leading into well laid-back shoulders. He has good forehand angulation leading into a straight front and nice feet. He has a deep chest and ribs well sprung. He has well angulated rear quarters which he used to drive around the ring. He is a pleasure to watch moving as his footfall is great, he moves with such Irish style.

2nd Poole’s TELERI SUMMER NIGHTS (AI)

This is a well-presented young dog. He is slightly rangier than 1 at this stage. He has a nice head and dark eye. He has good arch to his neck leading into a straight front. He held himself well when moving around the ring but not as true in front movement as the winner today. He was in great coat and condition.

1st Catling’s TELERI INDIAN SUMMER (AI)

This was a lovely class to judge, some promising young ladies coming through. This girl won this class as she presents such a lovely picture when stood. She has a beautiful head with lovely raised brows and expression. She has low set ears, lovely arch to her neck leading to well laid-back shoulders. She has great forehand angulation that is matched with her rear angulation. Her ribs are well sprung. She has a good croup leading to correct tail set. When moving she is so true and drives well. She gained her JW today. Well Done!

2nd Edward’s GWENDARIFF ITS NUMERO UNO AT BONHOMIE

This girl has so much to like about her. A lot of the same comments apply as 1, she has a lovely head with good expression. Great length to her neck leading to well laid-back shoulders. She is well angulated in the rear, she had a level top line today, but this may change. She was presented in beautiful coat and condition. Will watch both 1 & 2 with interest.

Pleasing dog who is presented in good coat and condition. He has a good head and expression. He is slightly wide in front but has a deep chest and good spring of rib and length of body. He has plenty rear angulation with good tail set. He has great profile movement with good drive around the ring.

1st Boutell & Burbridge’s IXIA RAINBOW BRITE

This girl is very feminine, presents a picture of raciness, elegance and is balanced when stood. She has a pleasing head with raised brows and correct dark eyes and ears set on low. She has a straight front and is well ribbed. She has well bent stifles and a slightly sloping croup leading to correct tail set. On the move she really comes into her own, showing such free flowing movement with reach and drive.

2nd Hall’s GLENNARA CILLEIGNE DERVLA (IKC) JW

This bitch is bigger made all through but she is still elegant and there is lots to like about her. She has a good head with raised brows, ears set on low. She has a good arch to her neck leading to good layback of shoulder. She has a good spring of rib and good angulation throughout. Lost out to 1 as had a tendency to lose her top line when stood, she moved around the ring well.

4th in a strong yearling dog class. He was presented well with a lovely dark coat. Pleasing head and expression. Had a good bend of stifle. Moved around the ring with driving movement. Would like him to carry a little more weight

This girl is well made throughout with plenty of bone. She has a pleasing head and expression, good lay back shoulder. She has a deep chest and good spring of rib. She moved OK but would like to see her driving around the ring more.

1st Ciechonska’s RIVERBRUE ALTISSIMO AT AOIBHEANNE JW

Nice young dog who is just right for his age. He is balanced throughout, he has the most handsome head and expression, with lovely dark eyes and low set ears. He has great arch to his neck leading to good shoulders and great front angulation. He has good depth of chest and spring of rib. He is slightly shorter coupled, but still balanced. He has such good rear angulation which is uses so well to move and drive around the ring. Presented in beautiful coat and condition.

2nd Child’s ANLORY TAMHIL

Slightly stronger made boy all through, nice head but slightly short in muzzle but still has that handsome expression. He had a straight front and good depth, with plenty of rib and has correct tail set. Moved OK.

1st Hall’s RIVERBRUE OPHELIA AT GLENNARA – Best Bitch & BIS

This girl caught my eye, loved her overall balance and raciness. She has a beautiful head and expression with correct dark unshelled almond eye. Her ears are set on low giving you that melting expression. She has good length to her neck leading to correct lay back of shoulder. She has great front angulation and depth of chest, standing on nice tight feet. Good spring of rib. She had a gently sloping top line leading to correct tail set. She has wide powerful hind quarters which she uses to her advantage when moving, she moved so true and in profile has such effortless reach and drive. She has such a beautiful rich chestnut coat and was gleaming in the sun. Pleased to award her Best Bitch & BIS.

2nd Elkin’s TWOACRES PROMISE OF SPRING WITH AVACET – Res Best Bitch & RBIS

Loved this girl as well, so much to like. She is made well and is balanced throughout. She has the prettiest of heads with that melting expression with raised brows and has dark eyes. She has great shoulder placement, deep chest and straight front. She has great spring of rib. She also possesses such good rear angulation with good width of thigh. She stands on nice tight feet. When moving she shows how well made she is as her footfall is perfect, she also uses her wide powerful hindquarters to drive around the ring. Presented in great coat and condition. Pleased to award her Reserve Best Bitch & RBIS.

So much to like about this boy, He has a lovely balanced head he is slightly pendulous in his flews, but this doesn’t detract from his handsome expression. He has a good arch to his neck leading to well laid-back shoulders and good angulation and straight front. He possesses a good depth of chest and his ribs are well sprung leading onto good rear angulation, his tail set is correct and is carried straight off his back. On the move he really comes into his own, he has such great reach and drive and is such a joy to watch. He stands on nice tight feet. Reserve Best Dog.

Another nice dog, a lot of the same comments apply. He has a pleasing head and expression with good dark eye and low ear set. He has good angulation fore and aft. He has good spring of rib and just enough length. He carried himself well when moving around the ring and has good drive.

1st Hall’s HARREDS HETTIE

Lovely type of bitch. She has the prettiest of heads and melting cheeky expression. She has lovely dark eye and correct unshelled almond shaped eye. She has great length and arch to her neck leading into well placed shoulders. She is slightly wide in front but stands on lovely tight feet. She has a great spring of rib and has a gently sloping top line leading to correct tail set. She has great rear angulation and stands on short hocks. She moved well and went around the ring with such purpose and drive from her powerful hindquarters.

2nd Parson’s BRAIDMOUNT LADY OF THE LAKE AT BRANSETT

Different type to 1 but lots to like. She is slightly lighter in coat but presents a racy and balanced outline. She is a lovely head and expression, good straight front and depth of chest, good length to her. She has a sloping top line leading to correct tail set which she uses well when moving. She is very true and has great rear driving movement.

1st Macaulay’s CASKEYS MISCHIEF OF STYLERSETTS JW

Lovely well made dog. He has a great head and with a handsome expression, with lovely dark eyes and low set ears. He had good length to his neck leading to well placed shoulders and good front angulation. Good depth and spring of rib, and length to loin. He has adequate rear angulation and good tail set. When moving he tends to pull away from his handler which detracts him his front movement, but I seen enough to appreciate his qualities. In profile he has good reach and drive.

Different type to 1 but lots to like about him. Pleasing head and expression with low set ears, good length to his neck leading into good depth of chest and straight front with nice tight feet. He has a good length and spring of rib. He has well angulated rear quarters which he uses well to drive around the ring. He is presented in lovely coat and condition.

3rd in PG class and is a nice bitch. She is finer made all through, pleasing head and expression. Eyes slightly rounder than I would like but she has low set ears. Good length to neck leading to good body with ribs well sprung. She stands on nice neat feet. Moved well.

2nd Brown’s BAYSTRIDER CANDY FLOSS

She has a pretty head and expression, good body proportions and enough angulation throughout. She has a good tail set and strode out when moving around the ring.

Open Dog

1st Tuite’s SH CH RIVERWOOD KAZATCHOK WITH PORSCHET JW (IMP BEL)

Lovely 6-year-old male. He has a handsome yet fined head, with raised brows and has beautiful Irish expression. He has good low set ears. Great arch to his neck leading into well laid-back shoulders. He has good front angulation leading into nice straight front. He has great depth of chest and enough spring of rib, he is slightly shorter coupled but still balanced throughout. He has good rear angulation with a slight slope to his top line and correct tail set. He moved so true going away and coming back, with good reach and drive. The heat started to get to him towards the end of the day and he started to slow down but couldn’t deny him Best Dog. He was presented in lovely coat and condition.

Another lovely dog, he has a lovely balanced head and handsome expression with low ear set. He has good length of neck leading into correct straight front. He has depth of chest and good length of rib. He has good rear angulation and nice short hocks tail set. He is presented in lovely coat and condition. Moved well and drives around the ring.

7-year-old girl who doesn’t look her age at all. She has a pleasing head and expression with lovely raised brows, she has a good arch to her neck leading into nice straight front. She has a good depth of chest. She has a great spring of rib and length to her. She has good rear angulation which she really uses to drive around the ring with great free flowing movement. She was presented in such beautiful coat and condition. Pleased to award her BVIS.

Pretty bitch, pleasing head. She has moderate angulation fore and aft. Would prefer slightly more depth throughout. She has a good tail set and moved well around the ring.
