The Terrier Club Of Scotland Open Show 14/10/18

Thank you to the officers & committee for inviting me to judge this pleasant & relaxed show today. The venue was light & spacious and a large ring was provided which enabled the dogs to move to their best capabilities. Many dogs however were distracted by noisy dogs around the hall which spoilt their chances in the ring of moving to advantage. I found all dogs to be clean & healthy however I did find one suspect mouth & one monorchid. Special thanks to my able steward Mr. W. Shorthose who kept the ring running smoothly. Also thank you for the super lunch provided.

I selected 8 dogs for further consideration & today top spot of B.I.S. was awarded to Barrass’s Gallondean Foreign Spirit (Skye T) 2 yr old b, who never put a foot wrong all day, has a most pleasing shaped head & well set erect ear, medium size eye & full of expression, correct length of neck lovely broad shoulders. in excellent body shape with excellent level top line, short & strong in loin, well angulated in rear & tail correctly set & carried, has the desired double coat & of correct texture, liked her size & is feminine, flowing sound mover took her to the top today.

R.B.I.S. Lorraine & Thomas”s Raleniro Second Time Around Sh CM (Border T) male of good size & balance, broad skull & strong muzzle, scores well for body, can easily span rib & strong in loin, has a good front which he uses well, correct feet, loose pelt & good harsh jacket, racy quarters & well set tail, moved out well today fore & aft, in good condition.

A.V. Minor Puppy D (1) : 1 Davidson”s Agria Latin Lover With Belfox (S.F.T.) good head & expression, well set ears, in good body for raw age, clean front & sound quarters, correct coat & good condition, tail well set on, neat feet. Moves well in front.

A.V. Minor Puppy B (7-1abs) : 1 Graham’s Thistleaire Touch Of Frost (Airedale T) scores well for size & balance, lovely profile & moved as construction suggests, well shaped head & strong jaw, good body with ribs well sprung & strong loin, in good coat of correct texture. Moved well in class but was distracted in challenge for B. Puppy ; 2 Lorraine”s Otterpaws Take It Easy With Raleniro (Border T), very raw but has a good head & super body shape, coat just coming through , tail well set & carried, good feet, needs time ; 3 Rostron”s Hightarn Nighthawk (Border T).A.V. Puppy D (4-1abs) : 1 & B. Puppy McIntosh, Stoddart, Stunbbs & Seaton’s Temora The Hawk (IMP), (Austrlian T). very alert & showy youngster, in tip top condition & presented to perfection, long & flat skull with good eye & well set ears, strong jaw, slight arch to neck & has a super front, well sprung in rib & good length of body, powerful thighs & well set hocks, correct in tail & has a well presented coat ; 2 Owen”s Tagstane Mighty Mouse (S.B.T.) broad in skull with dark medium sized eye, good ear set, strong neck & in good body, excellent coat short & close, not together on the move today ; 3 Lowden”s Tagstane Clash.A. V. Puppy B (4-3abs) : 1 Lui”s Eblanhalls Honeytrap (S.C.W.T.) flat skull & of medium length, strong in jaw, well set eye of medium size, ears well set on sull & v shaped, good body for age, well laid back shoulders, good feet, strong quarters with hocks well let down, in good coat of correct texture & hard muscle tone.

Australian T Open (3) : 1 Stoddart”s Millvalley Classical Red, proper fidget on the stack but has a true terrier go for it outlook, well shaped in head & correct ears, strong neck with well placed shoulders, well sprung rib & moderate depth of chest, tail well set & carried, feet well padded & small, has muscular thighs & well placed hocks, coat of good length & texture, feminine & only young compared to those behind her today, should have a bright future ; 2 Brown”s Ranlindi Fatal Attraction 7 yr old b, typical in head & good eye & ear, strong neck & top line well held, in good body & coat, moved soundly fore & aft, tail well set ; 3 Brown”s Millville Blue Dashwood At Ralindi Sh CM.

S.F.T. Limit (3-1abs) : 1 Glass, Anderson & Watt’s Nisyross Absolutely Spot On 2 yr old b, balanced in profile & feminine, has outgoing temperament & showed her socks of in class, typical in head, good ear & carriage, deep in chest & has a strong top line, well set rear, good tail carriage, good coat & condition ; 2 Davidson”s Lizoni Hot To Trot, good head & eye, ears well set on head, good neck, longer in body than 1 & not the top line, has a good front & neat feet, in good coat.

S.F.T. Open (4-1abs) : 1 & B.O.B. Cook & Rougvie”s Ch. Zetamaz Cool Dude JW Sh CM, mature male, super head shape & correct eye , strong jaw, dense coat presented to perfection, when he stands has the stallion stance, good depth of chest, super front , strong quarters which he uses well on move, correct feet & tail,unfortunately became a little uninterested when it came to B.I.S. line up ; 2 Glass, Anderson & Watt”s Nisyros Out Of Control, well shaped feminine b, good head & expression, neat feet, well developed in body & strong top line, not as together on the move as 1, well set tail ; 3 L Hot To T.

W.F.T. Open (1) : 1 & B.O.B. Coutt”s Ir Ch Burrencroft Wild At Heart, balanced head & good dark eye with correct setting, ears V shaped & close to cheek, strong neck of fair length, good front & corresponding rear, very sound on the move both fore & aft, harsh coat with undercoat, tail correctly set.

Sealyham T Open (2-1abs) : 1 Bledge & Good”s Ch. Goodspice Dreams Of USA At Bloomendal, not yet 2 but very mature, has excellent head shape & well set round eyes, muscular in neck & well laid shoulder, excellent body with well sprung ribs, desirable round & catlike feet, in excellent double coat & presented to perfection, moved with purpose, strong contender for B.I.S.

Lakeland T P. Grad (3-1abs) : 1 Rougvie’s Turflindie Diamond Chaser 2 yr old male of nice size, profile produced a nice outline however was over exuberant on the move & difficult to assess his movement, in good condition & short strong back, tail well set & carried, harsh coat & dense undercoat ; 2 Rouge”s Turflindie Diamond Dealer, I see is liter brother to 1, again nice outline but all over the place on the move, strong body, & good front, correct coat & hard condition, prefer front stance of 1, good feet & tail well set, hard muscular condition.

Lakeland T Open (4-1abs) : 1 & B.O.B. MacKenzie”s Nyamindi Code Red, 2 yr old b, loved her head & reach neck, shoulders well laid back, correct in body & powerful driving quarters, excellent double coat & presented to perfection, moved soundly fore & aft, correct feet with thick pads, tail of correct length & carriage : 2 Rouge”s Dripping In Diamonds, more mature than 1, balanced in head, good neck, prefer front of 1 & was more settled, in good body & excellent double coat, correct feet & pads, tail of correct length & carriage.

S.C.W.T. P. Grad (6-1abs) : 1 E Honeytrap ; 2 Lui”s Eblanhallls Fau Paws, different type to 1 but liked her sound construction & moved with purpose & ease, strong head & neck was of moderate length, powerful body with strong top line, lighter in coat than 1 but natural curls.

S.C.W.T. Open (6-2abs) : 1 & B.O.B. MacGregor”s Kirktonhill What I Believe Sh CM, 5 yr old mature b, has a lovely shaped head, strong neck & well laid back shoulders, good body, strong top line, well sprung in rib & short strong loins, drives well on the move from her well set quarters, tail well set & carried, has correct feet & the most profuse coat of good texture ; 2 McIntyre”s Thistlebe Mr Bojangles Sh CM, all male & of different type to 1, has a masculine head & strong in neck, well shaped eye & ears well placed, in good body & hard condition, different type & coat of different texture to 1 ; 3 Lui”s Thistle Them There Eyes At Eblanhalls Sh CM.

Manchester T Open (3-1abs) : 1 & B.O.B.Gray & Travis”s Brockenella Hector Von Clanmarshal 3 yr old male correct long & flat skull with strong jaw & good dentition, fair length of neck, narrow in front & has well sprung rib, strong loin, good bend of stifle, correct feet, in correct coat & presented well, good reach in front on the move, tail carried well ; 2 Gray & Travis’s Ruffagga Ghealaich Bhaigh Von Clanmarshal, nice head & well set ears, small & dary eye, unfortunately very unsettled today both being handled & on the move, in good coat & hard condition.

Skye T Limit (2-1abs) : 1 & B.O.B. & B.I.S. G Foreign S.

Skye T Open (2-1abs) : 1 Barrass”s Ch. Lavaux Spirit Of The Isle Of Gallondean Sh CM, 7 yr old mature lady who I have done well in the past, mother of my B.I.S. winner, has a super head shape & prick ears well set on head, correct eye shape & expression, strong neck leading to excellent front, now carrying too much weight but despite this still has an excellent top line & moved well, in good coat of correct texture, excellent feet & tail carriage.

Cairn T P. Grad (2-1abs) 1 & B.O.B. Lamb & Saltmarsh”s Birselaw Come Dancing With Macmoon, only a young male but is very sound in construction & with time should do well, broad in skull with definitive stop, well set ears & eye, correct length of neck & has good front with elbows well tucked in, deep rib & firm loins, his quarters are muscular & hocks well let down, correct tail set & carriage, not a heavy coat but correct textures, moved with purpose & was sound

Cairn T Open (2) : 1 Lamb & Saltmarsh”s Birselaw Dark Charmer For Macmoon Sh CM, 4 yr old male nice balanced outline & typical in head & expression, good double coat, in excellent body shape & condition, powerful driving rear, tail well set & carried; 2 Lamb & Saltmarsh”s Renshaw There And Back Again Under Macmoon, prefer balance & coat of 1, typical expression, well set ears, a little heavier in body than I would like, good feet, moved o.k.

Scottish T P. Grad (2-1abs) 1 & B.O.B. MacKay”s Carisco Dont Stop Believing, 2 yr old male, well balanced skull & fore face, strong jaw & good dentition, powerful neck, ears on top of skull & has intelligent expression, deep in chest & strong in top line well padded feet, in profuse coat with plenty dense undercoat, coat gleaming & in hard muscular condition, tail well set on, moved with purpose, strong driving hocks.

Scottish T Open (2-1abs) : 1 Todd”s Eskwre Waterloo Sunset, more mature than B.O.B. but unfortunately not the enthusiasm on the move today, has a well shaped head with correct eye & ear sets, strong jaw & good dentition, in good body & coat, in profile top linedoes not look as strong but on going over him I felt it was more his coat pattern that was doing this.

W.H.W.T. P. Grad (1) : 1 Fisher”s Havasu Head Boy Sh CM , 2 yr old male, balanced but would like a little more of him, good head shape with dark eye, well placed ears, compact in body with level top line, good front with elbows well into body, harsh coat & undercoat evident, tail well set, moved well fore & aft.

W.H.W.T. Open (2-1abs) 1 & B.O.B. Fisher”s Bobo Whiskey, prefer masculinity of this boy, well shaped head & ears small & erect, strong neck & well sloped shoulders, in good body & firm in top line, ribs well arched, strong in hocks & has good muscle tone, in good coat & hard condition, correct feet & well set tail.

A.V. N.S.C. Open (3-1abs) : 1 Forbes’s Jeonty Dreams A Dream At Karensbrae (G. Of Imaal T), just over 1 y old, good width of skull & strong in jaw, muscular in neck , shoulders well laid back, medium length of body & wide in chest, prefer a harsher top coat to be present , moved well ; 2 Newton”s Mindlen Rascal (Parson R. T.), 5 yr old male, pleasing in head & jaw, good rib & loin, tending to move erratic & rather wide in rear.

L Spirit Of The Isle of G ; 2 M Blue Dashwood at T, in good shape & hard condition, nice head shape & good eye, well set ears, in good body & nice top line, correct feet & well set tail, moved out well fore & aft, good coat texture : 3 Lamb & Saltmarsh”s Birselaw Fable Of Macmoon Sh CM (Cairn T)
