My thanks to the Officers & Committee for inviting to judge their club show. Club Shows are always special, and when it is a breed you have owned, it is even more so. Thank you for the excellent lunch afterwards and the stewards for keeping the ring moving. Lovely to be able to judge them outdoors, in a massive big ring. Didn’t work for all the dogs as some were more interested in what was going on elsewhere!

Puppy Dog (1,0)

1st Rual-Keogh & Westcott-Smiths GILCORU SAUVIGNON D’BRIE – fawn male of 11 mths, lovely shape & shape, good head with good ear set, lovely eye, nicely angled front and rear, would like a touch more width in front and depth behind elbows which I am sure will come with maturity. Pleasing ribbing for age, good topline and tailset, moved well for age. Best. Puppy Dog & Best Puppy in Show

1st Jones STORMFIELD WRECKLESS ERIC – Lovely balanced black male of 20 mths, correct size, good head with good strength, well set ears and correct eyes with lovely expression, well defined stop, strong muzzle, good neck going into correct angulated shoulders, nice width, nicely ribbed with correct length of body, good rear angulation, solid topline and correct tailset and tail holding the correct J, moved well when settled, just needs a touch more maturity in coat to complete picture – Reserve Best Dog

2nd Roberts GILCORU QUILCEDA D’BRIE – 2 yr old black male, bigger dog and not as balanced as 1, would like more head to balance the body, head proportions are good, with good ear set, strong muzzle, good strong neck, lovely expression, nice rear angles with good stifle, he decided he wasn’t going to co-operate with his handler on the move, so was difficult to assess.

1st Thorps CHARSON WORTH THE WAIT – 22 mth old black dog, at top of standard but well balanced, good strong head with good ear set, good eye creating lovely expression, well defined stop with strong muzzle, good neck, good front angulation, would like a touch more width for preference, this could still come with maturity, nice ribbing & loin, nice rear angulation with correct stifle good topline & tailset, with correct hook, moved nicely In all directions.

Open Dog (6,2)

1st Ruals CH GILCORU IRROY D’BRIE – black of 3 yrs old, can totally see why this dog is a Champion, correct size and balance, lovely shape & make, lovely head piece with correct eye and ear set, correct proportions, with strong muzzle, large nose, good pigment, strong arched neck good into well laid back shoulders, strong parallel front, good depth of chest, correct spring of rib, elbows correct and well filled in, excellent topline & tailset, good muscular rear, such a typical Briard movement, lovely to watch in all directions, in excellent coat. Best Dog & Best in Show

2nd Hilliers BAREMBAK ALBUFERA – Fawn dog of 2 ½ yrs , preferred the overall balance of 1, lovely head with a good eye and ear set, good muscular neck of correct shape, nice front angulation, would like more behind the elbow, nice ribbing & loin, lovely topline & tailset, good rear with correct turn of stifle. Lovely profile movement.

Puppy Bitch (2,0)

1st Biddlecombes STORMFIELD FERGIE AT CHAVELL = 10 mth fawn babe, full of promise, feminine, lovely overall balance, correct head proportions, with strong muzzle, lovely eye, good ear set, good strength of neck for age, with good shape to it going into a good lay back of shoulder, enough depth for age, enough spring of rib, and short loin, lovely topline and tailset which she held on the move, lovely angulation on the rear, moved soundly just needs to settle which will come with time, should have a bright future, just lost out on higher honours today as the dog was more settled, Best Puppy Bitch

2nd Fieldsends QESSI HEAVEN DEVIL TO STARWELL – another 10 mth fawn baby, rawer than 1 and not the coat, nice shape & size, pleasing head with correct proportions, lovely eye and ear carriage, good neck, nice angles front & rear, just going through a growing stage at the moment so a touch bum high, pleasing rear, nice profile movement, just needs to grow into herself.

Post Graduate Bitch (1,0)

1st Aldermans CHARSON CHINESE WHISPER – 22 mth old black, feminine with nice size & balance, pleasing head with good proportions, nice skull, strong muzzle with correct proportions to skull, nice eye, good ear carriage, strong neck, Nice front and rear angulations, parallel front & rear, good spring of rib with correct length, nice shaped stifle, strong hock, moved well, would just like a touch more drive to complete the picture. RBB

1st Fletchers ARROWFLEC AUDREY HEPBURN – 22 mth black, touch narrow through , but balanced on profile, nice size, pleasing head, with correct proportions, good eye, and ear set, given a good expression, pleasing neck, nice angles front and rear, nice body length, nice stifle & hocks, good coat, moved a touch too fast but nice profile movement.

Open Bitch (4,3)

1st Snellings CH BEAUGENCY BORDELAISE – beautiful 6 yr old fawn, lovely balance and in full bloom, lovely head and expression, correct head proportions, expression which is so correct with a lovely eye, good ear set, strong muzzle, strong arched neck, going into well laid shoulders, strong parallel front, lovely rib cage with good depth, strong topline and tailset which she held on the move, pleasing rear with correct turn of stifle, lovely on the movement, another worthy Champion, Best Bitch & BOS

Veteran Bitch (3,1)

1st Fletchers CH GILCORU TRUESTE D’BRIE AT ARROWFLEC – 9 yr old black bitch, lovely overall balance, nice overall size, good head, with good eye & expression, good skull, strong neck, good lay back of shoulder, good straight front, good ribbing & loin, nice topline & tailset , pleasing stifle and strong hocks, moved well for age, and a credit to her owners for her condition. Best Veteran

2nd Snellings BEAUGENCY ORLANA – 7 yr old fawn, nice overall shape & size, feminine, pleasing head proportions, nice ear set, good stop, just lost out today on expression, good neck, good angles front & rear, strong neck going into well laid shoulders, lovely parallel front & rear, good depth of ribbing, topline could be firmer, good tailset, lovely rear angulation with good turn of stifle & strong hocks, moved well.
