Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club

Critique for The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Open Show on 18th August 2018

Judge: Lorraine Long (Arroline)

Thank you to the committee for the opportunity and the hospitality afforded me, I was so very honoured to have been asked to judge this show and I thoroughly enjoyed the day. My thanks also to my stewards Mrs Sylvia Lymer and Mrs Linda Goodgame for all their help on the day and to the exhibitors for entering their dogs and accepting my decisions sportingly.

All my class winners met my idea of the Breed Standard, had the temperament that I love and correct scissor bite. I will not mention this again in individual critiques.

VD (3, 0) 1 Koster’s Ch Harana Alfie Boe Black and Tan 7 year old. This boy can still move, flowed lovely around the ring, beautiful level topline both on the move and standing with long flowing rich raven black coat. On the table he is so well built, so well balanced, and was an absolute pleasure to go over, correct soft melting expression. Considered him for Best Dog. Best Veteran Dog followed by Best Veteran in Show. 2 Mangham’s Garlouchi Just Magic of Charnavale JW Blenheim 8 years old. I have judged this lovely boy before and much of what I wrote then still applies. He can still move, parallel when viewed from front and behind. Lovely well broken coat, on a well built short-coupled body shape, well balanced, correctly set on tail. Was unlucky to meet 1 today. 3 Hobbs’s Khatibi Ready Teddy Go to Beaconsfylde ShCM
