West Bromwich & Wednesbury Canine Society

Many thanks to the committee for the kind invitation to judge the hound group at this very friendly and well run show at the Sports Connexion, Ryton on Dunsmore. A lovely entry even though it was hound day at SKC for which I thank the exhibitors for their support – some cracking dogs on show. I prefer to see exhibits moved a lot as I feel the construction of all hound breeds become much more apparent on the move as opposed to in the stack. Thanks to all exhibitors for their great handling and good sportsmanship.

1st Phillips & Keytes Lanesend Segenhoe JW ShCM – A beautifully balanced dog with lovely outline both on the move and stacked. Super quality head with dark pigmentation and expressive dark eye.

He immediately caught my eye with his excellent construction and sound movement. Nothing exaggerated throughout with enough substance, super balanced, great angulation fore and aft, shown in hard condition strong firm thighs with low set hocks – this excellent balance and sound construction combined to give him an excellent forward reach with good strong drive from behind which clinched him BOB. Unfortunately, in the group was upset prior to entering the ring and was not at all happy, shame as I liked him a lot.

2nd Caple’s Tregoniggie Colour of Magic at Moresefield JW ShCM – another super exhibit of elegant lines, correct size and balance, lovely head eye and expression, great sound construction and angulation moved well unlucky to meet the lovely dog in this mixed sex class.

1st Stargang High Hopes of Robinswood – red min smooth dachshund dog of quality – lovely balanced dog that catches the eye with a super outline on the move and excellent movement fore and aft.
