Smoothhaired Dachshund Club

Smooth Haired Dachshund Club 8 September 2018

Miniature Smooth Dachshund: Special Awards Classes.

Junior (15, 6 abs) 1, Jones’ Carlita Sea Flower, 8 months shaded red, correct balance of height to length with ample clearance. Lovely houndy head with strong jaw and good earset, well constructed front, level topline kept on the move, really strong behind and moved with plenty of drive and freedom, handled to perfection. Just a little light through the body at the moment, needs to fill out a bit; 2, Hunt’s Carpaccio Clarice Cliff, b/t of 9 months, well balanced, another high quality puppy with very nice feminine head, very good front with excellent shoulder and return of upper arm, well developed in body and with ribbing carried well back, presented a very pleasing picture. Just not quite as positive behind as the winner. 3, Shutt’s Donadoon Carolina Moon.

Post Graduate (6,4) 1, Paget & Carroll’s Marvale Miss Meera, b/t junior with a most pleasing outline,  excellent head and expresson, well constructed both ends, good feet well planted, strong rear, well ribbed up, kept topline on the move, clean and sound all round, quality bitch; 2, Hutchings’ Stargang Hot Cross Bun for Collidach, appealing outlook on this brindle youngster, typy head, good shoulder and topline, moved pretty well. I would like more ground clearance and a touch more second thigh.

Open (9,6) 1, Hunt’s Ch Carpaccio Midnight Lace JW  shaded red,  an overall super package, very well balanced, nothing exaggerated, sound in every respect with a feminine, houndy head and typical outlook, moved really well and freely, a classy young bitch and one I have done well before; so pleased to see that she has now gained her title. 2, Kerry’s Kireton Cici, mature b/t bitch of very good overall proportions with a pretty head, decent front, held her topline and she is well ribbed up with a good strong rear, moved cleanly. A little too well-covered for perfection and she was not as active in profile as the winner; 3, Shutt’s Donnadoon Dream Dust.
