Southampton & District Canine Association Open Show Sunday 22nd July 2018 Judge Mrs Linda Cater, Chihuahuas

I would like to congratulate the committee for their efficiency and thank the exhibitors for their fortitude on what was a blistering hot day. Fortunately all the top-quality dogs on show and their owners - and the Judge! - managed to survive the experience.

Chihuahua Longcoats

Junior (5,2)

1] Seddon's GOLDELITECHI SUPER MAN. Ten month old, Cream dog. Good strong head on this youngster; lovely large dark eyes, good sized ears well set, really good bite and dentition. Good reach of neck leading to a straight top line and good tail set. Good straight front, well laid shoulders and good rear angulation. Moved very well.

2] West and Rogers' DOOBYAVE HEIGHTERS HUSH. Thirteen months old, white dog. Great pigment on such a white dog. Large expressive ears, large dark eyes, very good teeth and bite. Good reach of neck and great tail set. Moved very well. Just needs to mature more.

3] Culverhouse's LYKATH'S PEEP BO

1] Smart-Mcmullan's DOOBYAVE TRULY SCRUMPTIOUS. Nineteen months old, Tri colour bitch. I really like the character of this little girl - the epitomy of the Chihuahua type. Lovely head with a great ear set, large round dark eyes and a good bite. Nice reach of neck with a level top line and a sickle tail carried proudly at the rear. Small and dainty. Super straight front, well laid shoulders and good rear angulation. Moved exceptionally well. (RBOB)

2] Culverhouse's BABY BOOM MANO EFEKTAS WITH LYKATH (IMP LTU). Eleven months old, cream and white dog. Very strong masculine head on this young man, large well used ears, large dark eyes , lovely teeth and bite. Good reach of neck with a level top line and super tail assembly. Lovely Straight front with great rear angulation. Moved very well. It was very difficult to choose between these two. (BP)

1]Alarion's LOUIS VULTTON DE L'ISLE AU VERT COTEAU [ATC AU00076FRA]. Two years old, white dog. Very pretty head on this boy almost but not quite feminine. Large expressive ears, large dark eyes, and good bite. Good reach of neck , level top line, lovely tail carrage. Nice straight front, good shoulders and good rear angulation. Moved extremely well and didn't stop showing for a moment. (BOB, G3)

2] Culverhouse's LYKATH'S TIFFIN. Twenty months old red and white bitch. Very pretty head with large ears, large round eyes and lovely teeth. Nice reach of neck with a level top line. Nice straight front with good rear angulation. Moved very well. I've seen this little girl before showing her socks off but today she just found the heat too much.

1] Sutton's NOW OR NEVER DE L'ISLE AU VERT COTEAU NIKITOS (IMP FRA). Eight months old cream dog. What a lovely puppy! Strong masculine head with large flaring ears, large round dark eyes, great teeth and bite. Good reach of neck, spirit level topline, perfect tail set and carriage. Lovely straight front with good, well-laid shoulders and great rear angulation. Lovely size and build. Moved like a dream. (BP, BOB, G4, PG4)

2] Sutton's NIKITOS NICKERLASTIC. Eight months old, cream bitch. Pretty head, if a little narrow, with good ears and large dark eyes and good teeth. Good reach of neck, level top line and good tail set. Nicely formed shoulders, good straight front and good rear angulation. Well named young lady as she bounced all over the ring at first - but once she settled she moved well.

1]Bird's BRAMERITA PASSION IN PARIS. Three years old, blue fawn and white dog. Lovely masculine head on this boy, well placed large ears, large dark eyes, lovely mouth. Good reach of neck and a level top line, great tail set and carriage. Good straight front, well laid shoulders and enough rear angulation. Just the right size and build. Moved very well. (RBB)

2] Sutton's NIKITOS NOTHINGLIKENORMAL JW. Sixteen months old tri colour bitch. Very showy tri girl, pretty feminine head with good ears and round dark eyes, good mouth. Lovely reach of neck with a ramrod straight back, super tail carriage and set. Excellent front and good angulation at the rear. Moved very well. Slightly larger than 1 but of excellent quality.
