1st) Izard’s Yockletts Cordiale, really lovely GSP bitch who took my eye as she entered the ring. Strong, but feminine, clean cut head, soft kind eyes. Neck long & slightly arched leading into well laid shoulders, good deep chest & correct short back with slightly arched loin Good bend of stifle. Well muscled throughout. Short flat coat. Free and easy mover and ever so sound. RBOB

2nd) Brown’s Graygees Gigolo,aAnother nice GSP but for didn’t have the neck or front angulations as my winner. Strong, masculine head with well set eyes giving a soft expression. Well sprung ribs and short loin. Fantastically muscled hind quarters which he really uses to drive away. Sound both coming and going.

3rd) Roberts’ Medogold Black Betty by Kananaskis

Post Graduate ( 4,1abs)

1st) Blay’s Barleyarch Skye at Longbarrow, my star of the day – this beautiful GSP just completely filled my eye. So well balanced and a beautiful outline when standing. She has a gorgeous, clean head piece with a lovely soft, kind expression. She has a super muscled neck leading to well angulated shoulders and the correct length of upper arm, well developed forechest and ribs well sprung and back leading to a firm loin. Firm short back. Strong top line held well at all times. Super hind quarters, well developed and in hard condition enabling her to power around the ring with ease and super sound. I was delighted to award her BAVNSC, G1 and thrilled to see her go all the way to Best in Show under Dr G Curr. Many congratulations.

2nd) Bowen’s Kingsmist Rose at Clandrift, Field Spaniel bitch of a good size & shape. Well chiseled head, with good almond shape eye giving a gentle expression. Long, muscular neck leading into well placed sloping shoulders. Well developed chest of a good depth. Strong loin and level topline held firm at all times. Moved out soundly. Just a little in between coats at the moment.

A lovely class of babies

1st) Delamere’s Gamerights Engima, Very pretty, raw bitch, who presented a nice outline when standing. Feminine head of the correct shape with well placed dark eyes giving a lovely expression. Good length on neck leading into well placed shoulders. Deep chest and well sprung ribs. Moved out well and with plenty of drive. Still very much the baby but I was really impressed by her and happy to award her BP & PG2

2nd) Bellamy’s Bochilbarley Won’t Let You Go, another lovely bitch and similar remarks apply. Much more the showgirl than my winner but not yet as settled on the move. Very pretty head with lovely eye. Well made and in good body and condition. Shown to get the very best from her.

3rd)Bell’s Rotherfield Just For Show

1st) Hutchison Quills Mint Julep with Waverton (Imp Swe) (AI) JW, well balanced bitch and of a good shape. Lovely head with flat skull and well set expressive dark eyes. Well set on small ears, used to advantage. Good neck and shoulder placement. Well boned legs and round well arched feet. Deep chest & well sprung ribs. Topline firm when standing and on the move. Muscular hindquarters. Moved out well and soundly once settled. RBOB

2nd) Delamere’s Gamerights Deep River Blues, another lovely girl of a really nice size and shape. Pretty long head with correct flat skull. Expressive eyes and well set on small ears. Good depth of chest and well ribbed back into a short firm loin. Moderately angulated in the rear with decent muscle tone. Moved around the ring with the correct free flowing action and ever so sound.

3rd) Bellamy’s Bochilbarley Blue Moon (AI)

1st) Bellamy’s Bochilbarley Izzy’s Moon at Moontorn, lovely sized girl of a very typical shape and pleasing outline. Very pretty head, with correct flat skull and lovely eye and good expression. Good length on neck leading into well placed shoulders. Deep chest and well ribbed body with the correct gradual spring, leading back into a nice short loin. Topline held firm at all times with a well set on tail. Well muscled hindquarters which she used to advantage on the move, powering around the ring with style and ever so sound. BOB

2nd) Bell’s Rotherfield Black Illusion, well balanced dog of a good shape. Lovely long head with well set eyes giving a really good expression. Well bodied with good substance. Correct topline and tail set. Well boned forelegs but feet could be tighter. Moved well with good reach and drive.

3rd)Bowen’s Clandrift Midnight Galaxy

1st) Cole’s Rooksbury Phantasia, lovely 17 month old bitch who for me was the clear winner of this class and the next. Beautiful head, with lovely dark eye and gentle expression. So correct to go over, with good depth and substance and excellent angles both fore and aft. Well boned legs and correct tight feet. Level topline held well at all times with correctly set and carried tail. She moved around the ring with ease and very sound both front and back. Presented in lovely coat and condition RBOB.

2nd) Pounds-Longhurst, Rosgar Dolly O’Dare Amoung Mossburn, another nice girl but of a completely different type to 1. Well balanced and creates a nice picture standing. Feminine head but with good strength and lovely expression. Good length of neck and well laid shoulders. Well sprung ribs and short loin. Moved out with good reach and drive and sound both fore and aft, just a little proud of her tail on the move.

1st) Morrissey & Tappenden’s Messano Flaming Star JW, beautiful bitch that really took my eye as she entered the ring. Super make and shape and presents a lovely well balanced outline when standing. Gorgeous head of the correct shape, with good pigment. Well set dark eyes giving a melting expression. So well put together with everything flowing into place. Excellent body and substance with a good spring of rib and correct short loin. Well boned legs and neat tidy feet. Well turned stifle with good muscle tone to hind quarters which she really used to drive around the ring and being ever so sound both fore and aft. Held a level topline at all times with a lovely carried tail. I was delighted to award her BOB and G2.

1st) King’s Linthwaite Indiana, very attractive, pale yellow bitch who presents a lovely outline when standing. Feminine head but not lacking at all in strength. Lovely dark eye. Strong, firm neck leading into a correctly angulated front. Excellent depth of chest and good barrel ribs. Carrying slightly too weight for me today but she held a firm topline and correctly set tail. Well muscled hind quaters. Moved out soundly. RBOB

2nd) Rees’ Eremos Moment in Thyme

1st) King’s Linthwaite Excalibur, Striking Yellow dog, who has a well balanced strong outline when standing. Broad skull with well placed, dark eyes. Ears set well and used to advantage. Strong neck leading into well placed shoulders. Deep chest and correct barrel ribs. Well boned forelegs and good tight feet. Level topline held well at all times and tail carriage OK. Moved out well and with power and sound both fore and aft. BOB.

1st) Rees’ Kazabbie Ice and a Slice with Eremos, smaller framed bitch of a lovely shape and impressive outline when standing. Good head and eye with well set ears that were used to advantage. Good depth of chest and correct barrel ribs. Well boned legs and tight feet. Firm topline and correctly set tail. A little close behind on the move but a good profile action.

1st) Revill & Taylor Julita Rhubette JW, Very pretty bitch. Lovely shape when standing & of a good size. Prettiest of heads with a melting expression. Good length of neck leading into well placed shoulders. So well bodied with good spring of rib set well back. Muscular hindquarters & moderately angulated. Moved out very well with excellent reach and drive and ever so sound. Presented in 1st class order BOB

2nd) Baldry’s Llon Llanharran Lleuci, very raw baby with a decent outline, just a little long in body. Pleasing head with good muzzle, defined stop & dark eye. Good, muscular neck. Nice straight forelegs, with good bone. Strong, muscular body with plenty of brisket and good ribbing. Well muscled hindquaters with moderate turn of stifle. Moved well and soundly.

1st) Woodhams’ Glynel Jiffy, smart Dog with a masculine head and expression without being overdone in any way, good length of neck into correct shoulder placement, good depth of brisket and spring of ribs, good bone and feet, moved with drive and very sound both fore and aft. RBOB

2nd) Gough’s Julita Rukester, Dog with good overall size and substance. Masculine head with a kind eye. Not the neck or front angulation of my winner. Good spring to the ribs and enough depth. Strong hindquarters, with a good width of thigh. True and positive mover.

1st) Woodham’s Robermyn Minstrel Boy, lovely sized male with good typical outline when stacked as this showed him to be squarely built with good substance. Masculine head with a kind eye to give a lovely expression. Not the neck and front angulations I would prefer. Good depth and width to the chest. Correct unexaggerated topline and well set on tail. Moved out well with good reach and drive.

1st) Hutson’s Stobytill Hippy Hippy Shake, Ultra feminine well balanced, compact girl. Super head with the most melting expression with the correct chiseling beneath her dark expressive eyes. Clean neck of a good length leading into well placed shoulders. Good depth of chest. Well boned forelegs with neat feet. Well sprung ribs set well back into a short loin. Firm topline with correct tail set and carriage. Superbly presented in a dark Blue Roan jacket. Moved out well and soundly. I hear this win gave her her final point for her JW, very well done!

2nd) Warington’s Zakova Sugar Plum, Gorgeous B/T puppy, feminine bitch, with a nice compact, cobby outline. Beautiful head, with the darkest of eyes giving a soft kind expression. Well set ears & well feathered. Excellent cobby body with good spring of rib. Good depth of chest and well boned forelegs and neat feet. Well muscled hindquarters. Moved out well and very soundly BP

1st) Bavin & Austins Rojoy’s Chase the Dream JW SHCM, Very pretty dark blue roan bitch, with so much to like. Beautiful, feminine head, with enough work and sparkling expressive eyes. Ears set low and well feathered. Good length of neck leading into well placed shoulders. Well sprung ribs and short loin, giving the desired cobbiness. Well boned legs and neat tidy feet. Topline held firm at all times, leading into a correct tail set. Well muscled hind quarters. She drives & reaches effortlessly around the ring, I would just prefer her a little neater going away. Nevertheless a lovely bitch & Presented to perfection BOB & G4

2nd) Cassidy’s Manchela Hugo Boss JW ShCM Very typical Blue Roan dog of a lovely compact shape and well balanced. Charming head and expression, with well set ears, well feathered. Excellent cobby body with good spring of rib. Good depth of chest and well boned forelegs and neat feet. Well muscled hindquarters. Moved out well and very soundly.

1st) Rhodes’ Calonlan Pretty in Pink, Very pretty, well broken Blen bitch coming up 18 months. Idea for size and great balance. Feminine head of the correct shape, with lovely dark, large eyes giving a melting expression. High set ears with decent feathering for age. Good length of neck leading into well placed shoulders. Well bodied, with good depth and nice spring to rib. Level topline with tail set correctly off her back. Moved soundly up and back and had a lovely free profile action. Lovely cavalier temperament and I was happy to award her BOB & G2

2nd) Rhodes’ Calonlan Oberon well marked 8 month Blen boy who when standing presents a typical shape and is very well balanced. Sweet head with good dark eye, would prefer a little more length to muzzle. Good neck and shoulders, still needs to mature in body but he is only a baby. Well angulated behind. Moved soundly both fore and aft.

1st) Morrison’s Lewisisle Highland Betsy Nicely sized B/T bitch, pretty head with tan in the correct places. Large, dark eyes giving a nice expression. Good length of neck leading into well placed shoulders. Good depth of chest and well sprung ribs set back into a good short loin. Level topline and tail set off her back. Presented and handled well. Moved out soundly and with drive. RBOB.

1st) Morrison’s Lewisisle Highland Bracken, Ruby boy who for me is larger than I prefer, but he has a decent head of the correct shape, with well set, expressive eyes. Good length of neck and correctly angled shoulders. Well bodied with substance and good spring of rib. Nicely boned legs and tight feet. Moved out soundly both fore and aft.

1st) Tatnell’s Simma Planet of Dream of Spiritcrest (ImP ukr) Chinese Crested, Really lovely puppy, just needs a bit more confidence. She has a super head. Darkest of eyes, well set, large ears. Good neck leading into well laid shoulders. Super body and condition. Level topline and correctly set tail. Well made rear with good muscle. Sound mover. BP & PG2

2nd) Hillyer’s Brokus Shine of Glonido, Lowchen, most gorgeous, well balanced 6 month old baby. Feminine head of good proportions and flat skull. Round dark eyes which give a good expression. Good length of neck leading into well laid shoulders. Short body with well sprung ribs and level topline held well both standing and on the move. Really a handful on the move today and difficult to assess but a real sweetheart.

1st) Denley’s Zumarnik Dazzling Diva at Polonique, quality Maltese bitch that I have judged previously as a baby and liked her then too. Very pretty head with dark pigment and well placed expressive eyes. Lovely to go over with a good body and correct angulation both fore and aft. Moved out well with style and ever so sound with the correct typical action.

2nd) Wood’s Nasabe Boogie Woogie Jump smart ETT, lovely head and eye, super expression and good ears used well. Godd body and lovely to go over, all of a piece; just would like her slightly better at the elbow and tighter at front. Moved out well.

3rd) Hillyer’s Brokus Double or Nothing at Glonido

1st) Morgan’s Cotontastik Heresharley, Superbly presented Coton dog with the correctly textured coat, masculine boy of a super shape and well balanced outline. Gorgeous head and expression with super pigment and lovely round dark eyes. Ears set hight and well covered. Good length of neck leading into a well angulated front. Good forechest and deep brisket. Straight legs with good tight rounded feet and correct black paws. Smart on the move and ever so sound, just held his tail slightly too close to his back when moving. RBOB

1st) Hills’ Toybox Lucifer Among Sharhazlah SHCM, quality Black Pom, presented to perfection but today just a little out of coat. Super head with sparkling eyes giving that typical cheeky expression. Really lovely to go over, with good front and rear angulations. Really comes alive on the move being ever so sound both fore and aft with such a free easy action. Best AVNSC and TG3

2nd) Bartlett’s Michadaine Crazy For You, Chinese Crested, graceful 3 year old power puff dog of a lovely make and shape just a little on the big side for me. Masculine head and expression with low set ears used well. Dark medium sized eyes. Lean neck leading into long sloping shoulders. Well bodied with a good tuck up. Moved out well and soundly. Presented in lovely coat and condition.

3rd)Wood’s Moretonia Wicked in Oz at Nasabe

1st) Saffers’ Boynhams Vanilla Latte Ragemma Pug, gorgeous fawn bitch, pleasing balance and substance and totally unexaggerated throughout. Lovely head, with blackest of masks, fine wrinkle, open nostrils and large lustrous eyes with a mischievous twinkle. Strong neck with arch which went into level topline and ended at her doubled curled tail. Forelegs straight with adequate bone. Good forechest, depth of brisket and correct cobby body. Moved out with sound positive action. Such cheeky character and I was thrilled to award her G1.

Toy Puppy Group

1st) Saffers’ Ragemma Upsy Daisy, exceedingly promising Pug bitch, that is the daughter of my group winner. Beautifully balanced fawn with nothing to hide. An exceptional head, ultra feminine expression, with excellent width to skull, muzzle, underjaw & wide open nostrils. Dark expressive eyes correctly set, with well placed ears of the correct shape & nice wrinkling. Compact, cobby outline with strong neck of correct length, short level back, nice spring of rib, good forechest, short loin & curled tail set on nice and high. Well developed thighs & good turn of stifle. She never stopped showing, moves freely with power & style and with the desired ‘pug roll’. Delighted to award her to puppy group.

3rd) Mitchell’s Peasblossom Whisper, ESS –10 month old L/W ESS bitch that is truly an exciting prospect. Stood she is a picture, so well balanced and correct in every way. Head of the correct shape, with good work. Dark eyes of the correct shape giving that typical expression. Good length of neck leading into well placed shoulders. Excellent body and substance for her age. Well sprung ribs and short loin. Good turn of stifle and well muscled for her age. She really comes alive on the move, showing that typical Springer action that really is missing today and being ever so sound both fore and aft. I had no hesitation in awarding her G3 & PG1. I was even more delighted to see her go on to win BPIS. Thoroughly deserved.

Junior Handling

1st) Jessica Bootes aged 14 handling a naughty Beagle. A lovely handler who is a very gentle and quiet but gives a lot of encouragement to her dog without any distraction. She made sure her dog was stood well at all times and never obstructed my view. On the table she presented the dog well to me, never obstructing my view and gave me a clear presentation of the teeth. She executed her triangle and straight up and down well, going at just the right pace for her dog and using as much of the ring as she needed too. She put in an excellent performance and today I could not deny her Best Junior Handler.
