West Country dog club

13th May 2018

I would like to thank the committee for their hospitality and to my steward for their kindness and hard work. I very much enjoyed my appointment, finding some lovely dogs that really pleased me.

Thank you to the exhibitors that came. It is always such an honour to judge your breed.

Pointer

Puppy (2, 1 ABSENT)

1ST Ingram & Pescud’s HARVESTLADE BEAU SANCY . 9month old Orange and White male. While he stood alone, he was very pleasing. Head needs to break but im sure this will come with time, kind dark eye, correct dentition. Lovely arch of neck on good shoulders, front assembly was clean and this showed when he moved with good reach. Correct oval bone. Pleasing spring of rib and adequate turn of stifle, hocks well let down. Gave his handler some hard work. Pleased to see he went puppy group 2.

Junior (4,0)

1st Hinton & Lennox’s KEEPERSFIELD CHRISTELLE WITH FLEURFIELD. Black and white bitch. Pleasing head, corrected dished appearance, good leathers. Well arched neck, pleasing shoulders, correct oval bone. Good spring of rib and pleasing length of coupling. Well turned stifle. She moved around the ring effortlessly driving from the rear. A real series of graceful curves - oozing elegance BOB

2nd Philo’s FYDAL CAPRIO AT SALMONMIST. Orange and white male of 12months. Really liked this boy, was unlucky to meet 1st on her 'A game' today. Head need a little time, dark eye, good leathers. Well-muscled, good lay of shoulder, correct oval bone. Good spring of rib. Adequate turn of stifle, hocks well let down on good feet. Moved well.

Novice (1,0)

1st Richards’ FERRISFARM MR BOUNCE. Liver and white male. Full of character. Good head, and ear set, good leathers. Pleasing front assembly, good spring of rib. Well turned stifle. Gave his handler a hard time on the move, just needs time.

Post Graduate (4,0)

1st Coggins & Adams’ DROVEBOROUGH DCI LEWIS AT GEMROSE. Liver and white male. Pleasing head, with good stop. Good front assembly. Correct oval bone, goods pasterns, correct feet. Nothing Is over done on this boy, in great well-muscled condition. Moved well, driving from the rear.

2nd Gordon & Petherwick. HAWKFIELD STRIDER. Orange and white male. Preferred his head to 1st. Classic dished appearance with correct stop, the kindest of eye. Pleasing front assembly, well laid shoulder, correct oval bone. My notes say movement was erratic, guessing this was down to a small ring, Im sure in a bigger ring, he would come into his own.

Open (3, 1 ABSENT)

1st Coggins & Adams’ SH CH DROVEBOROUGH BORN TO BOUND AT GEMROSE JW. Well-muscled liver and white male. The best of heads, classic pointer dished appearance. Pleasing neck into well laid shoulders. Good front assembly, and depth and correct oval bone, standing on good feet. Pleasing rear angulation. RBOB pushed hard for BOB, just preferred the elegance of the Junior Bitch.

2nd Young’s GUNDIOY ARGENTINE TANGO. Lovely feminine bitch. Pleasing head, good leathers. Good front assembly with good depth. Good sweeping stifle and hocks well let down. Lovely movement, topline, well held.
