Melton Mowbray Canine Society – Open Show – Saturday 2nd June 2018

I would like to thank the committee of Melton Mowbray Canine Society for inviting me to judge at their 75th anniversary open show, my steward Mandy Romeo Dieste who organised the ring efficiently for me and the exhibitors for their attendance and sporting attitude. Unfortunately the rain meant we had to go indoors but it didn’t stop everyone having lots of fun at this well run show.

Breed – CKCS

P: (1) 1. Lunt’s Oaktreepark Just Magic. 6 month old Blenheim bitch. Well presented coat with well broken markings of rich chestnut on a pearly white background, and desired lozenge. Sweet head and expression, correct earset and dentition. Good turn of stifle and moved ok. A little timid at this stage due to immaturity. BP

J: (2,1) 1. Lunt’s Calonlan Practical Magic. A happy 13 month old Blenheim bitch. Lovely head with large round dark eyes, correct earset and skull almost flat between the ears. Sweet, melting expression. Good pigmentation and correct dentition. Presented in immaculate condition. Well broken markings and fine silky coat. Good angulation throughout and moved well when settled. RBOB

PG: (3,1) 1. Hobb’s Beaconsfield Salutation. 23 month old Blenheim bitch. Heavily marked coat in excellent condition. Lovely shape, short coupled. Pretty feminine head with sweet expression, large round dark eyes, good pigmentation, correct dentition. Well angulated and moved with reach and drive, maintaining her topline on the move.

2. Coleman’s Beaconsfield Razin A Riot. 17 month old Blenheim bitch. Well broken markings, with rich chestnut on a pearly white background. Well presented. Nice head with well set ears and sweet expression. Correct scissor bite. Good angulation and good turn of stifle. Moved well.

O: (4,1) 1. Hobb’s Beaconsfield Catch The Kiss JW ShCM. 3 year old Blenheim dog. This boy caught my eye immediately he stepped in the ring, he is so well balanced. Lovely head with correct earset, almost flat skull, good pigmentation, round dark eyes, well feathered leathers and melting expression. Presented in immaculate condition. Well angulated throughout, he moved with reach and drive and covered the ground with ease. BOB

2. Lunt’s Oaktreepark Magical Dreams. 4 year old Tricolour bitch with tan in the right places. Pretty head with large round dark eyes and a sweet expression. Well feathered leathers, round dark eyes, correct dentition. Moved around the ring holding a level topline.

Breed – Maltese

SP Yearling: (3,2) 1. Green’s Vouzime Queen Elsa Over Samorrey. 17 month old bitch. Immaculately presented with plenty of silky white coat. Lovely head with dark oval eyes, correct dentition. Well balanced with good spring of rib, level back, good angulation throughout. Very lively, alert bitch with proud head carriage. Moved well with free flowing movement. RBOB

O: (2) 1. Welbourn, Dowsett & Tyler’s IR CH Zumarnik Hot Pursuit ShCM. 9 year old dog. Fabulous temperament, lively, alert and sweet tempered. Presented in immaculate condition with silky white coat of reasonable length. Correct dentition with full set of clean teeth and correct scissor bite. Lovely head with gently rounded skull and well defined stop. Well angulated, short, cobby body and good spring of rib. Moved with ease in free flowing action. BOB

2. Lee’s Sarasuma Eternity Marc at Lafford. 2 year old dog. Well presented with silky coat. Nice head with dark oval eyes, correct dentition, well feathered ears hanging close to the head. Good angulation and good spring of rib. Moved well.
