NEWFOUNDLANDS

Puppy (1)

1. Noble’s Sandbears Best of Both

A gorgeous 7 month old male, who presented a very well balanced picture and just right for age. Well off for bone throughout and has a very pleasing head and expression. Chest is deep and broad, as is back and had a great topline for such a baby. He was a little loose on move in his class, but once he settled and in the challenge for Best Puppy, he moved really well and I was pleased to award him Best Puppy in Breed and then Working Puppy Group 2. I am sure he has a very bright future.

Junior (2)

1. Blake’s Anchorbays Custom Made in the USA for Sandbears

Another very nice puppy, who just lost out in the challenge, as not quite so balanced at present, as he is a tall boy, but another, who I am sure has a very bright future. He has a very pleasing head and is well off for bone. Well angulated front and rear and moved very well for his age.

2. Pallett’s Blessed Heart Tender Ebony for Sheenmarie (imp Rom)

A lovely 18 month old female, who has a lot of great qualities and is well balanced and scores highly in head. On the day she was moving a tad close behind, which was the deciding factor in this class.

Open (2, 1 withdrawn)

1. Pallett’s Sandbears Hawiian Hot Stuff to Sheenmarie

Just loved this nearly 3 year old female who has substance and strength throughout, but still is so very feminine. She is so very well balanced and has great bone, with lovely straight front legs and good feet. Her head is so pleasing and correct and has the required nobility and majesty that the breed desires. She moved so very well with good drive from the rear and held her topline on the move. She continued to show her great movement throughout the day despite the heat and I was pleased to award her Group 1 in the Working Group. I was then delighted to see her win Best in Show. Very well done.

2. Blake’s Sandbears Chases on the Case

A very impressive male, who excels in head, size and substance. He is well angulated front and rear and has great strength throughout. He was a little erratic on the move and appeared to have “girls on his mind” and I did prefer the better movement of the winner.

Bernese Mountain Dog

Post Graduate (2)

1. Perk’s Kernow Festive Buzz

A male just reaching maturity and showed so very well free-standing. He is well off for bone and has a good chest. He has a pleasing head with a strong muzzle and good eyes. I would prefer slightly more rear angulation, but he moved well in all directions.

2. Wilson’s Blumental Jack Jones

A young male, who still has time on his side to mature. He has a good head and expression. Not as balanced as the winner and another who needs to have more bend of stifle. Did not move as well as the winner.

Open (3, 1 abs)

1. Fairclough’s Monalou Spirit of Discovery ShCM

A very impressive male who has strength throughout. He is well off for bone, lovely straight front legs with the correct compact feet. He is broad in the chest and good depth to body. He is balanced on the move and moved well in all directions. Pleased to award him BOB and Working Group 4.

2. Perks’ Bernfawr Hot Spice

A mature lady, who has a pleasing head and kind expression. Was finding it too warm today to give her best in the show ring.

SIBERIAN HUSKY

Puppy (1)

1. Hughes’ Jacalous Mockingjay for Siberiadrift

This 8 month old female caught my eye as soon as she entered the ring and she did not disappoint on going over. She has the typical foxy head with good ear placement and an intelligent expression. She is so very well balanced both stood and on the move. She is completely effortless on the move and demonstrated great reach and drive and her handler got the very best out of her. I was delighted to award her BP, BOB, Working Group 2 and Working Puppy Group 1. She carried on showing her paws off despite the heat and was thrilled to see her win Best Puppy in Show. Well done.

1. Hughes’ Jacalous Mockingjay for Siberiadrift

Open (2, 1 abs)

1. Hughes’ Siberiadrift Keep Forever JW

Another really lovely example of the breed and she was really well handled by her young handler. She is very typical in head and body and is well balanced with good angulation front and rear. Another very good mover and was just unlucky that I was completely enamoured by the puppy today.

GREAT DANE

Post Graduate (1)

1. Griffin & Grierson’s Griffindane Athos

This is a very upstanding young male, who has great size and substance with a very masculine head, which is in balance to his size. He has good eyes and expression. He has width and depth of chest and shown in good condition. Correct front angulation, but currently needs to let down behind to give a balanced outline. He was somewhat erratic on the move, as the ring was not big enough for him to get in his stride and he was more interested in looking at what was going on outside the ring. Would like to see him in a bigger ring, as sure he can move much better. BOB
