Sunderland & District Canine Society

Sunderland and District Canine Society show 22/07/2018

Border Terrier

I would like to thank the society for inviting me to judge the Border Terriers and for the very nice hospitality we received  (very nice lunch ), I thoroughly enjoyed my appointment in this venue which was well laid out and a nice sized ring

Puppy

1st  Atkinson Esyntona Codeword Vandamere

10mth B/T Bitch , a lovely size with a nice feminine typical head , moderate neck into nicely laid back shoulders,  easily spanned although rounder in rib than I would like , her tail is set a little low which slightly spoils her top line , a good pelt and today very little coat but what was there was of good texture , moved out steadily for her handler  BP PUPPY GROUP 2

Junior

1st Birrell  Otterpaws Mountain High

17mth G/T Dog

Standing alone in this class but he was a worthy winner , although slightly squarer  than I like he fitted the standard the best today , lovely Ottery head with dark eye and correct mouth , he`s a nice size being easily spanned and narrow throughout  with a really super pelt and jacket , nice amount of bone with tight small feet and good tail and set , he moved easily around the ring covering the ground well , BOB, GROUP 2

Post Graduate

1st Birrell Otterpaws Muninn

G/T boy with a lovely head nothing over done , keen expression and correct bite , narrow throughout nice lay of shoulder and carries his ribs well back ,spans well and has a super pelt but was not sporting much jacket today , nice tail and set , slightly over angulated hind leg although moved soundly

2nd Atkinson Tojamatt Rythmn N`Blues at Raedwulf

G/T Boy, lovely head and expression , sporting a lovely new harsh correct jacket , easily spanned and narrow front , lovely neat tight feet and nice for bone , he didn`t move as positively as 1st and seemed a little tense , a slight rise over his top-line spoils his over-all look

Open

1st Dixon Otterpaws Firebird

G/T bitch A little short on the leg for me but she has a super profile and moves effortlessly holding her top line although moves a little wide in front  , the best jacket here today and has the thickest of pelts , a lovely short well set tail correct mouth and attractive feminine head, neat small feet

2nd Lorraine and Thomas Raleniro Second Time Around

G/T Boy , Lovely head with correct bite and keen expression , super narrow throughout and in very fit hard condition , nice length of neck into well laid shoulders ,Spans easily with a super thick pelt and harsh jacket , ribs well back and nice angulation , he just spoilt himself on the move as he was crabbing and not taking a relaxed big stride which I thought he would
