Tay Valley Gundog Association Members Limited Show

I want to thank the committee on this lovely invitation to judge retrievers at their limited show. I thoroughly enjoyed this appointment and the atmosphere all round was very welcoming. Many thanks to my stewards and exhibitors for entering.


FLATCOATED RETRIEVER


Junior (no entries)


Postgraduate (3 entries, 1 absent)

1st Thomson’s Badcall Petronella. Lovely girl, kind expression with dark eye. True front through to strong rear, in good coat. Moved true fore and aft.

2nd Manson’s Sylkienorrie Neepy Lantern. Liver dog, super masculine head, lovely depth and ribbing. Lacking coat but just needs time to mature. Moved with drive.


Open (2 entries)

1st Thomson’s Rotherfield Lady of Braeval at Badcall. Smashing bitch with sweet moulded head, nice well set on ears. Great reach of neck, into well laid shoulders. Ample depth and ribbing leading into firm rear end muscle. Covered the ground with ease, loved her attitude! Easily BOB and then went onto win Reserve Best in Show.

Puppy (2 entries)

1st Nicol’s Holsky Back in Black. 7 month old black bitch. Lovely kind expression with good depth of muzzle. Good reach of neck into well placed shoulders. We’ll sprung ribs into firm hindquarters. Moved true.

2nd Ferguson’s Holsky Big Gun. 7 month old yellow bitch, sister to 1. Lovely feminine head, good forequarters leading into well sprung ribs. Great dense coat. Outgoing with good movement.


Yearling (5 entries, 0 absent)

1st Scrimgeour’s Velvetine the Bride. 14 month old liver bitch. Super set on ears into sweet expression. True front leading into short broad barrel ribs. Well turned stifle with great tail set. Moved with ease.

2nd Thomson’s Astrid Lindgren at Strathhunker. 13 month old yellow bitch. Lovely head. Balanced front and rear angulations. Correct otter tail. Moved freely.


Graduate (4 entries, 1 absent)

1st Thomson’s Cricklecreek Cadris at Strathhunker. 22 month old yellow dog. Beautiful masculine head with a classic expression. Strong neck into well placed shoulders. Well boned, barrel ribs leading into well angled stifle. Short dense coat. Moved true with great drive around the ring, he was eye catching. Pleased to award him BOB.

2nd Nicol’s Saranden Shoshone at Holsky. Just under 3 years old yellow bitch. Nice kind expression. Smaller set girl. True front leading into well barrelled ribs. Good tight feet and strong rear end. Moved well.


Postgraduate (6 entries, 3 absent)

1st Thomson’s Murlaggan Violet at Strathhunker. Just under 3 year old black bitch. Sweet kind expression. Good outline with great bone and substance. Moved well.

2nd Nicol’s Saranden Shoshone at Holsky

1st Lawrence’s Velvetine Prehnite at Dunnabbey. Just under 3 year old yellow bitch. Lovely soft expression. True front and strong hindquarters. Good topline carried on the move. This girl had great attitude.

2nd Harcus’ Rocheby Top O’The Morning. Nearly 4 years old male. Nice broad head with correct ear set. Well spring ribs. Level topline, covered the ground with ease.

Yearling (2 entries)

1st Younie’s Glenrioch Storm Trooper. Lovely young male. Nice head with kind expression. Balanced outline with great feet. Moved happily round the ring.

2nd Barron & Jenkin’s Rannaleroch Seil. Lighter coloured bitch. Sweet feminine head with lovely dark eye. Well laid back shoulders leading into level topline. Moved freely.


Graduate (2 entries)

1st Finnie’s Thistleyhill Country Chiel. Darker coloured male. Lovely well chiselled head with nice set ears. Deep chest, and great dense coat. Moved with drive.

2nd Frost’s Sunrise Shimmer. Again darker coloured female. Nice head and expression. Straight front and firm back end. Moved well.


Postgraduate (1entry)

1st Barron & Jenkin’s Rannaleroch Abhainn Don. Smashing male. Balanced head with kind expression. Good front and firm rear quarters. Moved with ease.


Open (3 entries, 1 absent)

1st Younie’s Largymore Live To Love You SHCM. This male was eye catching. Sweet head and expression. Excellent length of neck into correct shoulders, level topline, strong muscular hindquarters. He flowed around the ring. Pleased to award him BOB.

2nd Warden’s Eyevalley Macallan Of Glentochty SHCM. Lovely moulded head with kind expression. True front, well balanced, strong back end. Moved well.
