Frecheville (Sheffield) & District Canine Society

My thanks must go to the committee for inviting me to judge, to the steward and to all those who exhibited.

GSP Junior (4,1)

1) Hammond’s, Seasham Love Bug. 6.5 month old bitch who presented a very pleasing shape. Beautiful feminine head and good shade and shape of eye. Her reach of neck flows into well laid shoulders and an excellent return of upper arm. Very good forechest for age and well boned legs with good feet. Well bodied for a baby with a firm topline. Lovely corresponding hind angles with a good tail set. She was excellent going away, needs to firm up coming towards. Her reach and drive in profile won her the class. Thought her to be delightful, very pleased to award her BPIB, congratulations!

2) Braine’s, Grenetrest Canterbury Bell. 11 month old dog, more compact in proportions. One who is extremely well schooled and still possessed excellent showmanship! Lovely masculine head appropriate for age with well shaped muzzle. Good reach of neck onto a good lay back of shoulder just not quite the upper arm of 1. Well developed forechest and brisket for age. Firm topline onto a short loin. Moderate hind angulation. True both coming and going with a balanced side gait. Good coat and excellent muscling.

3) Newcombe’s, Heathermark Sorrel.

GSP Post Graduate (7,2)

1) Thompson’s, Redmires Bedazzled. 3 year old bitch who presented an excellent outline. Very feminine head and expression with well shaped eye of good shade. Good reach of neck onto a very good forehand assembly. Excellent forechest. Good depth of brisket and spring of rib. Short loin and good hind angulation, just a touch steep over her croup. Correct both coming and going with an athletic, balanced side gait. Another who was in first class condition with a good coat. Won the class on her maturity in body and balance of angulation. I just preferred the drive of the Open for BOB. I was very pleased to award her RBOB, congratulations!

2) Peebles’, Keigame Belle Of All. 18 month old bitch, slightly longer in leg than 1 but possesses such a clean shape from nose to tail. Pretty head and expression with good shape to muzzle. Good reach of neck onto a moderate forehand assembly overall. Firm topline with a good croup and tail set. Needing to mature a little more in body to finish the picture. Lovely hind angulation. True both going and coming with an attractive side gait, just preferred the slightly better forward reach of 1.

3) Vickers’, Brynburn Atticus.

GSP Open (3,1)

1) Ellis’, Soellis Fannie Annie JW. 2 year old quality bitch who immediately appealed for her clean shape and obvious balance of angles and proportions. Ultra feminine head and expression with good shade of eye. Lovely reach of neck onto an excellent lay of shoulder and equally good return of upper arm. Excellent forechest and depth of brisket. Short loin with corresponding hind angulation finished off with a correct croup and tail set. Once settled, she was true both going and coming and used herself really well to produce a stylish side gait. Excellent muscling and good coat. Very pleased to award her BOB and see her take G3, congratulations!

2) Beresford’s, Tuptonsett Maxamillion. 23 month old male who is going through a slightly rangy stage at present. Very strong head with good finish to muzzle. Long neck onto a good forehand assembly. Needing to spring in rib and deepen in brisket at present. Very good hind angulation. True both ways and produces a balanced side gait.

Pointer Junior (4,0)

1) Perkins’, Brent Hothouse Flower. 17 month old orange/white bitch. Loved her clean lines and good proportions. Her head is so very feminine with lots of work in and lovely dark eyes is just the icing on the cake. Long neck onto a good forehand assembly with well developed forechest. Well bodied with a clean topline onto very good hind angulation and correct croup and tail set. She was true both coming and going and covered the ground in profile with such ease with a lovely tail carriage. In the challenge for BOB she just did not quite have the panache of the Open, but a very comfortable RBOB, congratulations!

2) Chevalier’s, Millpoint Some Like It Hot. 10 month old black/white bitch. From a slightly rangier mould compared to 1 but liked her shape in stance very much. Her head is very feminine of good shape with lovely dark eyes. Lovely long neck onto a good forehand assembly overall. Needs to develop in forechest. Good body for age with a firm topline and lovely hind angulation. True going away but needs to tighten coming towards with age. Once settled she produced a very eye catching side gait with good reach and drive and good tail carriage. Very pleased to award her BPIB, congratulations!

3) Walking’s, Nosam Never Say Never Again at Kiswahili.

Pointer Post Graduate (1,0)

1) Walking’s, Flavio del Almojon at Kiswahili (Imp). 18 month old orange/white dog. A very balanced and compact dog on first appearance who will benefit from another year of maturity on his back. Loved his very age appropriate head with kind expression. Good reach of neck onto a good overall forehand assembly. Needing to body up with age. Firm topline and short loin. Corresponding hind angulation with a good croup and tail set. True both coming and going with a balanced side gait and lovely tail action.

Pointer Open (1,0)

1) Perkins’, Ir Sh Ch. Kanix Fate of Brentwood JW. 6 year old black/white male who appealed in all departments. He has an excellent clean shape from nose to tail with a super balance of angulation and proportions. Lovely refined head of good strength with lots of work in it. Excellent reach of neck onto a lovely lay back of shoulder and good return of upper arm. Excellent spring of rib with a firm topline and short loin. Lovely hind angulation with a correct tail set. Absolutely correct both coming and going and he commanded your attention with an excellent side gait. More than happy to award him BOB and see him take G2, congratulations!

Italian Spinone Junior (4,1)

1) Sharp & Kaye-Ackroyd’s, Afterglow Game Changer. 15 month old quality bitch who possessed an excellent outline and very good proportions. Her head is ultra-feminine with correct divergent planes and big spongy nose. Good reach of neck onto very good shoulders and return of upper arm. Good forechest for age. Well bodied with lovely spring of rib. Correct topline with a short loin and balanced hind angulation. Correct both coming and going with an easy side gait and lovely tick-tock tail action. In excellent coat with good skin. Won the class on her very good balance of angulation, she can only get better with maturity! While she showed very well in the class, she seemed to tire in the challenge and unfortunately had to settle for RBOB today.

2) Fordham’s, Lucoru Catequil at Cloudnine. 14 month old dog who made his handler work very hard today! Appealed for his correct proportions and typical shape. Lovely strong head for age with correct planes, dark eyes and big spongy nose. His forehand assembly was a touch moderate compared to 1. Well bodied for age with a typical topline and short loin. Balanced hind angulation. Needs to firm up a touch both going and coming and went with real gusto in profile. In very good coat and has good skin.

3) Nicholson’s, Trepur Luthien Tinuviel. A very raw 6 month old bitch who will benefit from more ring experience and maturity. She has all the essentials of a correct outline, good proportions and angulation. Once she settled she showed glimpses of a very balanced side gait and the promise of good front and hind action. Time is on her side and I wish her and her owner the best of luck for the future. BPIB, congratulations!

Italian Spinone Post Graduate (1,0)

1) Fordham’s, Lucoru La Cassa at Cloudnine. 3 year old male who possesses a very good shape and is so obviously masculine. Loved his head which was refined yet strong with correct divergence and lovely kind eye. His forehand assembly was very good overall with decent forechest. Would prefer him a shade firmer in pastern. Excellent body to this dog with good spring of rib and correct topline onto a short loin. Well off for hind angulation. Could benefit from being slightly firmer both ways but shows an effortless side gait. In good coat and has good skin. Well presented, congratulations!

Italian Spinone Open (1,0)

1) Challands’, Sh Ch. Mistyayre Gigolo for Annilann. 4 year old male who is well up to size with excellent bone and strength. Liked his head planes and strength with good shape and shade of eye. Very good reach of neck onto a lovely forehand assembly with well developed forechest. Excellent topline with super maturity through his body, short loin. Good coat and skin. To be critical I’d like a better bend of stifle. Correct coming and going with a balanced side gait. His more active performance gave him the advantage in the challenge. BOB, congratulations!
