THANKS TO THE OFFICERS AND COMMITTEE OF CHEPSTOW & DISTRICT CANINE SOCIETY FOR THE INVITATION TO JUDGE GROUPA AND BEST IN SHOW AT THEIR VERY ENJOYABLE JUNE OPEN SHOW AT THE FUNCTIONAL VENUE OF USK CAMPUS EQUESTRIAN CENTRE. A LONG BUT ENJOYABLE DAY’S JUDGING WITH A GOOD NUMBER OF EXCELLENT DOGS.

BEST IN SHOW was Luczynski’s American Cocker Spaniel BALADEVA SCARLET LETTERS FOR KANARA an eye-catching 2½ year old bitch who has a refined feminine, breed typical head. Soundly constructed being sturdy and compact in make and shape. In super coat well presented presenting a super profile both standing and on the move; strong well angled hindquarters of proportionate width. Impressive movement having great purpose with true sound extension in front and drive behind. Showed herself off to best advantage.

RESERVE BEST IN SHOW was Graham’s Borzoi     DASHAVA CALGARY a 22 month old impressive quality self-red male who has a very attractive head shape with good depth in under-jaw. One that fills the eye with all the curves in the right places and so pleasing to go over. Powerful and strong but loses nothing in elegance. Excellent balance and overall body proportions covered with firm substance and commendable body and coat condition. Free and sound on the move.

BEST PUPPY IN SHOW was Jones’ Dobermann KORIFEY DARK KNIGHT a 10 month old very well developed, striking youngster who has a commanding, athletic appearance. He is well constructed all through and is good to go over. Handsome, breed typical with strong features in head set-on to an ideal length, powerful neck;  Well made in front, body and hindquarters.  Movement was purposeful with true extension in front and good width, parallel drive behind.

RESERVE BEST PUPPY IN SHOW was Beach’s Miniature Smooth Haired Dachshund MARIO KLARA DIFINO (Imp SVN) NAF an 8 months very smart youngster who is impressive in development both of bone and body. He presents an excellent breed typical side profile with satisfying proportions and balance in angulations front/rear. Handsome in head and expression; pleasing in front with pleasing fore-chest and is ribbed well enough back being well angled in hindquarters and pleasing width all through. He moved with confidence and true parallel action front and rear.

BEST VETERAN IN SHOW was Theobald’s Pointer SH CH TYCARREG STRANGELY FAMILYR JW ShCM a super quality 8½ year old male who is in admirable body and overall condition. Handsome, breed typical head set well onto his strong good length neck and flowing into his firm, mature body of excellent balance and proportions. Overall he catches the eye for all the right reasons being breed typical, soundly constructed and shown in praiseworthy condition of a dog in his prime. He moved with the soundness that complimented his excellent conformation.

RESERVE BEST VETERAN IN SHOW was Quest’s Tibetan Spaniel CH CHENREZI KEEPERS OF DREAMS JW ShCM. At nearly 9 years of age this smart, good sized breed typical bitch impresses in balance and in general outline being slightly longer in body than height at withers. She is in commendable condition of both body and coat. Attractive head and alert in expression, head set well onto a well made body, she presents a quality appearance which is hard to ignore. Moved with a true forward action and a proud head carriage.

GUNDOG GROUP 2 – Ainsley & Nicklin’s English Springer Spaniel DAENERYS FIFTY SHADES an impressive 2½ year old male who has a very smart, well balanced appearance. Attractive in head, good length of neck and well made body. Moved with a sound true action.

GUNDOG GROUP 3 – Masters & Dott’s Cocker Spaniel MANCHELA LADY MILLION a very eye-catching 16 month old bitch who is attractive in markings and satisfying in conformation. She has a very pleasing head and is well made all through. Moved with a true free action.

GUNDOG GROUP 4 -  Prangle’s Irish Setter HEATHCLARE AMERICAN DOLLAR JW ShCM a super quality 2 year old male who is in gleaming coat and excellent body condition. Handsome head set well on good length neck. Good angles front and rear, firm and well bodied. Free moving with a controlled action.

GUNDOG PUPPY GROUP 1 – Mathews’ Pointer MEDOGOLD TARTINI WITH SONHAM a 11 month old bitch of obvious quality both in breed characteristics and conformation. Presents a satisfying and well proportioned balanced side profile. Well made all through having desirable bone and body development. Moved well and free.

GUNDOG PUPPY GROUP 2 – Archer’s Golden Retriever HAYDENGOLD ROCK STAR AT SUNANDAIR an upstanding 9 month male who is well grown in bone and body. He has stature and is workmanlike in appearance and looks like he has the build to fulfil the breed function. Attractive head and well made in body with movement to match.

GUNDOG GROUP 3 – Felton-Page’s Retriever (Labrador) MARSHWIGGLE WILHELMINA a very smart 11 month old bitch who is very satisfying in development of bone and body. Attractive head which is breed typical and obviously feminine. She is well made all through and has nothing in exaggeration. Free moving but not as precise in action as 1 & 2.

GUNDOG PUPPY GROUP 4 – Wall’s Hungarian Vizsla PIROSEG MANDARIN OF PERLLANSIDE an 11 month nicely grown bitch who has desirable bone and body. Attractive typy head, firm and strong in neck set well onto sound shoulders and body which needs to come together in proportions but has plenty of scope for development; strong moderately let down hindquarters. Came into her own on the move.

1st Cooper’s NEWBREACH DAR NAY WITH TROSNANT a nearly 2 year old GWHP male who is breed typical in head which is set correctly onto a good length neck, true sound front, well boned and well bodied with pleasing angulations front and rear. Pleasing in size, body proportions and balance. He moved with drive and purpose although tended to pull slightly off line. Best AVNSC Gundog

2nd Burgess’ Weimeraner GREYSPIRIT ROCK STAR FROM HANTZBURG a male having stature; pleasing masculine head. A little upright and needing to strengthen in pastern in front but well enough made in body an rear. Needs to settle in front on the move.

2nd Palfrey’s NSDTR – FOXDOWN BERTIE ALLSORTS a mature 7 year old male who has plenty of size and substance. Attractive head, sizeable and well made all through; moved well to gain his placing in this class.

UTILITY GROUP 1 – Quest’s Tibetan Spaniel LILILEAN LOUIS VUITTON (Imp FIN) a very pleasing quality junior male who has a super quality appearance both in make and shape enhanced with desirable breed characteristics. Very attractive in head and expression, very satisfying to go over and to appreciate his sound conformation. Moved free and true with head carried high.

UTILITY GROUP 2 – Maule’s Shih Tzu DALTRICIA ARAPAHO a very attractive super coated 9 months old male who has the best of heads and expression. One of ideal size and is of pleasing construction from head to tail. Moved well although tended pull and to tire later in the day. One with an exciting future.

UTILITY GROUP 3 – Ilott’s Miniaturte Schnauzer LEECURT STOLE OUR HEARTS an 8 month old bitch who is smart in appearance and attentive in outlook. Attractive head and expression. True front, form body and nicely angled stable hindquarters. Presented in excellent order producing a well defined outline showing off her quality of breed and construction merits to advantage. Moved confidently with true forward action and good width rear drive.

UTILITY GROUP 4 – Martin’s Chow Chow FOILLAN FU-NI ShCM a mature 4½ year old well coated, compact and well balanced bitch who is breed typical in appearance. Well made and pleasing in overall construction. Attractive in head, strong muzzle and depth of jaw; correct colour of tongue. Moved freely with good width forward action.

2nd Maule’s Shih Tzu DALTRICIA KWAKWALI a 14 month old male of pleasing appearance. Super head and expression. Well made front, body and rear. Pleasing overall proportions and balance; well coated. Movement needed to be more controlled.

2nd Nicholson’s Bulldog MELAFELLA COOL AND COCKY (AV1) a well grown 18 month old male who has a well shaped breed typical head. Good breadth across the ches, stands firm and stable. Werll bodied and stable hindquarters. Needs more enthusiasm on the move.

1st Meakin’s Bulldog BOLLINGER JUNIOR BOY AT MEAKABULL a good sized 2 year old male who has a pleasing head both in shape and proportions. Strong good width front, stable and firm in stance. Well bodied with good spring and ribbing. Better mover of the class.

2nd Mayo’s Bulldog TEIARDER ABIT POSH a 13 month old bitch who is smart in appearance. Typy head although preferred head of 1st. Pleasing in body; well proportioned and firmly made. Needs to be more controlled and settled on the move.

1st Mayo’s bulldog DAJOMI FAIR YOUNG MAID AT MARGOBULL a very smart good sized 17 month old bitch. Attractive in head and overall appearance. Well constructed all through. Firm, strong good width front across the chest. Well made firmly covered body. Stands “four square” and the best free mover in the AV classes. Best AV Utility.

2nd Meakin’s  Tibetan Terrier KHADOS OVER THE BOUNDARY AT MIKSANG an 8 year old male who is commendable coat and condition. Attractive head, mouth in good order. Well made in front, body and hindquarters although would prefer more angle of stifle. Tended to crab slightly on the move.

TOY GROUP 1 – Williams & Boardman’s Cavalier King Charles Spaniel  JONSVILLE CRYSTELLA SANCANAS JW ShCM an impressive quality bitch who excels in coat, clear coat colour and breed typical appearance. Super head and expression. Well constructed in front, body and hindquarters. Excellent temperament. Moved well with a sound, free enthusiastic manner.

TOY GROUP 2 – Day’s Havanese CUBADIAS CARIBBEAN DAMSEL a 17 month old profusely coated bitch who is in commendable coat and body condition. Very attractive head and expression with a striking overall shape and standing profile. Well constructed in front, body and hindquarters. Moved well with sound purpose.

TOY GROUP 3 – Minton’s LC Chihuahua SUNNY LION VAFELKA DONAMI (Imp UKR) a 14 month old bitch who is just all together being well made and presents a very smart breed typical appearance. Lovely head and alert expression set well onto well proportioned neck and body. She has lots of personality which she shares with everyone around. Moved well and with confidence.

TOY GROUP 4 – Beach’s Pug JUST A GLANCE a 13 month old male who is of good size with

just-right bone and body. Attractive head and endearing expression. Moved with plenty of purpose but needs to settle to give of his best.

TOY PUPPY GROUP 2 – Paradise’s Cavalier King Charles Spaniel SUNSANTE ARROW TO SHARDLOW a 10 month old male who has a quality look. Attractive breed typical head and having a very alert attitude and expression. Well made in front, well developed in body and nicely angled hindquarters which need to strengthen. Moved with a free and easy action.

TOY GROUP 4 – Davies’ Pug PUPURPUGS BLACK MAMBA a 9 month old bitch who is nicely grown with pleasing bone and body. Still very much a baby and has plenty of promise and time to develop into a pleasing adult. Needs to settle on the move to give of her best.

Impressive head set on firm neck, true parallel front, firm tight body and strong stable moderately angled hindquarters. She has a well defined outline presenting a super breed typical picture. Moved straight and true.

TERRIER GROUP 2 – Guvercin’s Border Terrier GLEBEHEATH FINGERS ON LIPS a super promising 10 month old bitch who looks good and is good to go over. Excellent head set on good length firm neck, well made front, body and rear. Workmanlike make and shape; Moved with a positive true action.

TERRIER GROUP 3 – Roberts’ Welsh Terrier BRECKNOCK BLEDDYN ShCM a 3 year old male who standing presents a near perfect breed typical picture. Attractive in head, powerful in jaw, strong in neck and well made and firm all over in body. Movement was not at his best, distracted and too interested in things around him to give of his best.

TERRIER GROUP 4 – Brookes’ Irish Terrier TURITH THE LAWYER AT ZETAMAZ ShCM a striking 2 year old male who looks to be coming into his prime. Super head and well constructed all through. Parallel in front, firm and substance in body and moderate strong hindquarters. Moved well especially in rear action.

Super attractive head, strong neck and body, made well all through. A little pocket of dynamite!! Let himself down on the move by being over enthusiastic.

I would prefer more harsh texture to coat. Stands well over the ground with true front and well angled hindquarters. Brisk in movement.

PASTORAL GROUP 2 – Lambert’s Norwegian Buhund STURTMOOR’S EEZEE LUVVA a very attractive 22-month-old bitch of eye-catching breed typical appearance. Balanced of good size and proportions. Very attractive head; True in front, good body and well ribbed and moderately angled stable hindquarters. Free movement true but needing to settle in front.

PASTORAL GROUP 3 – Jones’ Old English Sheepdog KERJALEE DREAM MOMENTS AT WENALLT a 15 month old bitch who present a very natural breed typical outline. Well coated and well presented. Pleasing head, well made front, sturdy body and nicely let down hindquarters. Free energetic movement.

PASTORAL GROUP 4 – Apperley’s Cardigan Corgi WILDCARD ACE AT NANAIMO a 2 year old male b/m who has a side profile of good length, balance and proportions. Masculine and strong in appearance with a satisfactory front and forequarters, well made body having pleasing substance and well angled hindquarters. Moved with forward purpose although needing to have more strength and drive behind.

PASTORAL PUPPY GROUP 1 – Gwynne’s Samoyed ROSNORSKE OBI WAN KENOBI an 8 month old male who has a handsome head, thick nicely rounded ears of good length. Pleasing dark eyes of correct shape and attractive expression. Super pigmentation. Well made sound front and body. Profuse coat & plume. Pleasing in profile with good angles front and rear and having low hocks.

Moved well with a typical puppy attitude. Definite promise for the future.

PASTORAL GROUP 2 – Grove’s BSD Tervueren DEVOUE’S KNIGHT OF PASSION AT ZARNA (Imp USA) a very well constructed 10 month old male who is a very typy youngster possessing breed qualities. He has a lovely head both in shape and expression enhanced by his well shaped dark eyes and alert responsive ears. True in front, excellent pasterns, pleasing in body both shape and substance and of good proportion and balance. Moved with true purpose with sound front and rear action.

She is well developed, well boned and has enough substance of body. Pleasing overall length, just needing to mature and strengthen all through to become the finished article. Easy to mkove butb needing to strengthen and tighten in action.
