Firstly thank you to the officers and committee of the Society for the invitation to judge at their lovely show, fantastic hospitality and friendly atmosphere. Secondly thank you to the exhibitors who entrusted my judgement and allowed me to go over their lovely dogs, my task was made very difficult due to the quality of the exhibits.

Hungarian Vizsla. P (1) – 1. Harrison’s Alfizsbet Pike O’Stickle. 9 month old boy with a lot to like, very much to type in head shape, strong in skull with positive proportions, good eye colour, strong slightly arched neck leading into a good shoulder set, nice level back/topline well muscled from withers to croup, elbows nicely tuck in, strong tidy tight feet, good muscle tone to 1st and 2nd thigh, overall view/outline very good with plenty of positive angulation to front and rear, moved well on a slippery floor, presented in good condition. BPIB and BOB.

Irish Setters. P (4) – 1. Sharman & Jennings-Sharman Kerrimere Red Ribbon. Lovely well constructed dog with plenty of dazzle, good shape to head lean but not fine, good shape to eye with nice colouring, ear set good, neck of nice length leading smoothly through a good shoulder into a nice gently sloping topline finishing in correct tail set, front angulation good, good tidy feet, plenty of breathing room in a well sprung chest, rear quarters again with plenty of angulation, good tone to 1st and 2nd thighs, moved very well. BPIB, PGrp 1 and Res BP in Show. 2. Milligan-Bott & Bott Thendara Crystal Ice. Very close to 1st in looks and condition, head shape with good quality proportions and a good eye in shape, colour and expression, good overall angulation to front and rear assemblies, nice topline from withers to croup, good chest space with plenty of good rib, tidy tight feet, well presented, movement did it for 1st on this day. J (6,1) – 1. Anthony & Hopewell’s Staratlantas Out A Time. Both 1st and 2nd substantial healthy looking dogs with equal attributes, 1st with good deep chest, both front and rear angulations of very good proportions, good gentle slope to top line, good tight feet, head very much to type with well shaped full of expression eyes, sturdy throughout with good muscle tone, coat in very good condition, movement was the thing that clinched it on the day. 2. Miss O Danks-Kemish Teleri Summertime Blues Avec Alolfrana (Al) JW. As said before another excellent example of the breed, have judged this boy before and things have only got better with age, maturing very nicely, still has that lovable expression, overall outline and condition still A1, lost to 1st as he struggled on the move on the slippery floor. PG (5,2) – 1. Stevenson’s Lochlorien True Detective Is Andley. Lovely dog with feminine looks, overall outline very good, typical in head shape and proportions with an attractive eye, nice and soft in expression, her construction was good with plenty of good muscle tone, strong in neck through to good lay of shoulder, sturdy topline with a gentle slope, angulation to front and rear was very good which made it easy for movement which was sound and strong even on a dicey surface. BOB. 2. Bell & Barker-Bell Balintyne Freda Payne. Another very nice girl who has the looks, of good overall proportions with a good shape to neck strong onto a good lay of shoulder, plenty of deep well sprung rib, high-quality angulation to both front and rear, firm strong feet, very well balanced , also moved well. O (7,3) – 1. Bott, Allen & Morgan Quensha Tumble and Twirl JW. A lovely girl that ticks a lot of boxes, she moved quit well in the small slippery ring, just seemed a little tired, but the drive was still there, good feet, sound construction to front and rear, good lay to shoulder from a strong gentle arched neck, through a nice topline to correct tail set. Overall a girl that has quality. 2. Stevenson’s Lochlorien Scully Foxes Andley ShCM. Girl in good condition with a well balanced outline, good head shape and proportions, kind dark eye giving that ‘oh so sad’ expression, well defined neck into a good lay to shoulder continuing onto a gentle slope to topline and correct tail set, sturdy construction with good angles to both front and rear , neat feet, presented well, movement not quit as strong as 1.

Italian Spinone. P (2) – 1. Barrett’s Affilato Happy Ever After At Barold. Lovely built girl of 11 months, typical in head shape and all to good proportions, a keen eye good in colour for coat, well muscled neck with a feeling of strength not too long falling into strong shoulders which were well laid back, good square ness to body, nice shape to topline rounded strong croup, deep set chest with plenty of capacity, free flowing on the move with no exaggerations, handled and presented well. BPIB. 2. Nicholson’s Trepur Luthien Tinuviel. This 7 month old girl was out for nothing but fun, which is a joy to see in youngsters, she has a good outline, strong in muscle tone, nicely balanced throughout, coat in good condition, strong short neck into well laid back shoulders, sound across the loin through to nice croup shape , nicely squared to body in profile, at times she did move well, but was on a mission to keep the handler busy. J (2,1) – 1. As 2nd from Puppy. O (2,1) – 1. James SH CH Inostricani Fiorella JW ShCM. Really nice girl, free flowing in movement, no effort in covering the ground due to being so well balanced, overall view was of quality with a coat in good condition, good expression to well proportioned head, down short muscled neck to well laid back shoulder, quality topline which carried through to rounded croup and good tail set, construction to forequarters was excellent and well toned, nice and straight when viewed from the front, rear construction was strongly muscled with long thighs and good bend to stifle, lovely shape to all feet, movement was effortless BOB.
