Judge: Miss G Sloane (Ferasheen)

I would like to say a large thank you to the committee for the invitation to judge at this friendly and exceptionally well run show, it was lovely to judge our breed outside in the beautiful weather.

Class 80 – Irish Setter Puppy

Class 81 – Irish Setter Post Graduate

1st  French’s DIERVILLA ZEN POWER (Imp Pol)

Exceptionally mature for his age. Beautifully masculine head without being heavy or overdone; neat almond eye with excellent chiselling and strong brow giving a lovely quizzical expression. Elegant neck set cleanly into lovely forequarters; well laid-back shoulder, good forechest and a nice return or forearm. Well sprung rib into strongly muscled loin, gently sloping yet unexaggerated topline with excellent croup into correctly set tail. Strong turn of stifle and neat pasterns stood on tidy well arched feet. Movement fluid and true both fore and aft boasting an excellent reach and drive and good flexibility in the hock, striding around the ring with a lashing tail and his glorious coat gleaming in the sunshine.

Best Of Breed

2nd Holehan’s  LOGANRISH JACQUART

A petite girl with everything in the right place. Delicate head with pleasing expression, strong brow and good chiselling. Nicely proportioned, excellent shoulder placement and good return of forearm. Adequate forechest and lovely spring of rib. Good width of upper thigh and nice turn of stifle, stood on tight, neat feet. On the move, she was fluid and free whilst maintaining good width at the rear, driving well from short pasterns.

3rd  Markham’s  GLENLAINE SAMUAL WHISKERS

Res Cayton-Lee’s RUBRATINNEH SISIKA

Class 82 – Irish Setter Open

1st  French’s  BALINTYNE JUST YOU JUST ME

Stood alone in this class but well deserving of her placing. Beautiful size and shape, feminine, racy and elegant without exaggeration. Sweetest of heads with lovely length to foreface, clean through the neck flowing into her topline, good forechest, lovely length of rib and well muscled over loin. Beautifully balanced hindquarters, excellent width of upper thigh into lovely turn of stifle , strong muscle tone and neat pasterns. Pushed hard in the challenge for Best Of Breed but just wasn’t quite as settled on the uneven ground.
