Chihuahua Smoothcoat

I was very pleased and honoured to be asked to judge at this lovely show. One of my favourite shows of the year – but oh, that traffic!  

Movement was very hard to assess due to the uneven ground, the relatively long grass (although all grass is long to Chihuahuas!) and it didn’t help that there was a mound of sand in the middle of the ring so unless there was an obvious fault with movement, I erred on the side of leniency.

P(8/1)1 Fothergill’s  Diamonchi Mister Moon BPIB,Moved confidently keeping level top line. Nice straight front and well let down hocks with good turn of stifle. Good mouth, BPIB and went on to Puppy Group 1. 2 Cooper’s Wilachans Star Is Born.  Compact Tri colour bitch. Took a little while to settle down but when she did she moved well.  Good reach of neck and correct tail set. 3 Holland-Smith’s Diamonchi Shine Like A Star Taf

J (8/2) 1 Waddington’s Spindlepoint Mae West Small cream bitch, lovely domed head, good muzzle with definite stop. Large clean dark eyes , moved well keeping topline level.  2 Entwistle’s Dorentys Viva Victoria Lovely Apple domed head, correct ear set,  good stop and muzzle. Confident and attentive. 3 Fothergill’s Diamonchi Wishing On A Star

PG (6/1)1Fothergill’s Diamonchi Golden Symphony JW Lively red bitch, beautiful  head and large flaring ears, good tailset, level topline. 2 Entwistle’s Dorentys Royal Albert JW Lovely confident cream dog. Good reach of neck, good turn of stifle. Nice domed head and correct ear set. Moved well 3 Will’s Corbrayash Poppet Luvs Dorenty)

L (1/0)1 Waddington’s Spindlepoint Yule Brynner.  Stood alone but went on to take BOB. Lovely head, nice length of muzzle Level  topline and correct tail set  

O (5/1)1 Fothergill’s Diamonchi Shooting Star JW ShCM Lovely apple domed head with good stop. Lovely tail set, good turn of stifle and moved really well. BOB 2 Holme’s Cazants Ronnie Mcdaide level topline and good tail set. Moved assertively. Correctly shaped head and nice dark large eyes   3 Acker’s Dorentys China Doll JW
