North Of England Hunt Point Retrieve Club

German Shorthaired Pointers (dogs):

German Shorthaired Pointer Junior Dog (1):

1. Knowles and Glen’s Wilholme Had A Lovely Time at Bessalone, good type, strongly made all through, masculine without coarseness, pleasing legs and feet, good body, rib and hindquarters, moved soundly, RBOB;

German Shorhaired Pointer Post Graduate Dog (2):

1. Wright’s Goosepoint Spitfire over Steelrigg, dog of good overall type, liked his head and eye, excellent body, good neck and shoulders, sound ‘s mover with drive;

2. Cox’s Ceilloch Merlot by Cushatlaw, pleasing youngster, preferred the body, neck and shoulders of 1 who had a longer stride in profile;

German Shorthaired Pointer Open Dog (5):

1. Thurm’s Sh Ch Bryburn Bacchus, lovely quality two years old who is masculine yet no sign of coarseness and full of quality, really lovely head with correct eye, good legs and feet, has the correct balance for the breed with very good body and ribs, strong well-muscled hindquarters, sound mover who covers the ground in profile, awarded him BPIS at an all breeds open show last year and was delighted to see how he has matured, BD and RBOB;

2. Brown and Burns’ Sh Ch Magregor Threesacrowd at Pothouse, another very good dog who pushed hard and another very worthy title holder, liked his head and eye, excellent overall shape, really good behind who kept his excellent outline in profile, just not quite as good coming towards and lacked enthusiasm for RBOB but a pleasure to judge;

3. Pearson’s Ladyhawke Sultan

For BOB I was happy to agree with my co-judge that Sh Ch Cushatlaw Ilustrious be BOB – half sister to the BD, they made a lovely pair as they were so similar, I just loved everything about her, beautifully made all through with lovely head, great forequarters and such a good mover, a very close decision.
