BEDFORD & DISTRICT CANINE SOCIETY 22ND SEPTEMBER 2018 by CORDELIA BLUE

Many thanks to the Committee of Bedford & District Canine Society for their kind invitation for me to Judge Dachshunds at your show. I was honoured and pleased to participate in such a well organised Open show. Thank you to both of my Stewards for stewarding in such a professional way enabling to move forward without hold ups. I thoroughly enjoyed my day to Judge for the first time. I had 12 dogs present to Judge and I was specially delighted that few of my chosen Dachshunds done so well. The standard long haired took 1st place in Hound Group, puppy standard long haired took 2nd place in Puppy Group and miniature smooth puppy took 4th place in Puppy Group. I was so pleased with my final selections.

DACHSHUNDS (MIN SMOOTH-HAIRED)

JUNIOR CLASS: 42

1ST 149 Mrs G, Robertson AYSEEBEE LOOK WHO’S TALKING TO RAVENWOOD - 15month old boy presented very good outline with an attractive head & carried proudly on the move. Strong neck, well bodied, excellent forehand with good top line & tail set, good length of ribs, loin, sturdy feet & good quarters. Splendid in all respects & his confident attitude reflected in sound action, my Best of Breed.

2nd 143 Miss T & Miss J, Mutton MONTONE BE BRAVE – 9month old girl pleasing head, cheerful attractive expression, good top line & tail set, short loin. Less matured then the winner but very promising, confident & moved well with some drive from the rear. My Best Puppy & got 4th place in Puppy Group. Very proud of this little girl. Well done!

3rd 150 MRS W, STARKLEY - CARPACCIO BLACK OBSIDIAN FOR HAMOURA

1st 145 Mrs I M, Phillips STARGANG HIGH HOPES OF ROBINSWOOD – 4years old boy another impressive free moving dog of good quality. Clean outline, attractive head, nose, eyes with good neck & shoulders. Firm top line, short strong loin & correct bite. In the final challenge took place in Reserve Best of Breed today.

OPEN CLASS: 44

1st 144 Miss T Mutton, POSHPRIDE ALFA LADY (IMP UKR) – 4years old girl, well presented, good carriage, masculine & well balanced with strong loin. Sound & free move held her outline well at all times.

DACHSHUND (MIN WIRE-HAIRED)

JUNIOR CLASS: 45

1st 156 Mrs I M, Phillips GULLIAGH LOGANBERRY OF ROBINSWOOD (IKC) – This puppy had a happy temperament. Good coat, well presented, good head & neck with good placed shoulders. Firm fore chest with ribs going well back & short loin. He enjoyed his day on the move. He is still such a baby and I feel he has to mature, promising puppy. I was pleased to award him Reserve Best of Breed & Best of Puppy.

POST GRADUATE CLASS: 46

1ST 151 Mr M & Mrs S Crow, MARTINKS DRIVES YOU DOTTY – 2years old girl with outstanding head, bight happy eyes, neck & correct bite, vigorous on the move. Shoulders well laid back with strong short loin. Chunky with excellent coat, well presented, short nails, prominent fore chest & level top line. Happy to award Best of Breed.

OPEN CLASS: 47

1st 152 Mr M & Mrs S Crow, COMPANIA PANDORA – 5years old girl correct angles both back & front. Her fore chest is good with keel going well under. Good bite, pleasing head would prefer her with better coat. Sound & free move with happy temperament.

DACHSHUND (LONG-HAIRED)

JUNIOR CLASS: 48

1st 160 Ms G Marks LABBADAX MONTEBELLO – 9month red boy with correct bite & almond dark eyes, long strong jaw brings intelligent expression, excellent nose, very strong forequarters & forelegs. Short loin with strong chest. Front feet full, broad & deep with short nails. Body sufficiently clear of ground with free movement. Coat well presented. Splendid puppy I’ve Judged today my Best puppy & Puppy Group took 2nd place. Very proud!

POST GRADUATE CLASS: 49

1ST 158 Mr P. P. & Mrs J. Clarke TEKALHOUS DIAMOND LIFE (AI) – 17month old red girl well presented, moderately long & low with no exaggeration, compact, well-muscled body, correct bite, neck graceful lines into the shoulders, short loin good top line, free & flowing on the movement. My Reserve Best of Breed.

2nd 159 Ms G, Marks LABBADAX LATIMER KANSAS – 13month old boy with good head, strong jaw, correct bite, broad feet with short nails, good coat, decent forehand with fine developed chest, short loin, good balanced a bit hopped on the move & looked unsettled.

OPEN CLASS: 50

1ST 161 Ms G Marks LABBADAX LEWISVILLE TEXAS – The best dog I’ve Judged today. Top quality 13month old boy with outstanding head, dark intelligent almond eyes, strong jaw with correct bite. Long, muscular, clean neck carried proudly forward. Moderately long full muscle body blending harmoniously with short & strong loin, well ribbed body with topical top line & underline. Superb forehand with decent bone & broad feet with short nails. Strong well angulated quarters moved with easy drive through action, stood very impressively. Shown in very good coat condition. My Best of Breed & took 1st Place in Hound Group. Very proud of my choice. Well done!

2nd 157 Mr P.P & Mrs D.J. Clarks TEKALHAUS MILLION TO ONE ShCM – 3yrs old red girl not at best today, was a bit fidgety on the move. Head long nice conical appearance, slightly arched muzzle. Good compact body with strong chest. Good top line, well back ribs & short loin. Coat well presented.
