North Of England Spaniel Club

I was delighted to be asked to judge again at this well run friendly show. Thanks to the committee for their hospitality and to my steward Wilf. A small entry numerically but 3 quality ones, all fit for function, made the trip so worthwhile.

Field spaniels, Puppy (1) 1st BPIB Gills Diptonia Gypsy moth, 10 month liver girl, so feminine, loved her kind head and expressive eyes, already has good bone and substance for her young age, has good depth of chest and correct front assembly, good bend of stifle and tight feet, liked her profile both stood and on the move. In good coat and condition, nicely handled. One for the future.

Post grad and limit, (1) 1st and res BOB, Shiptons Winterbourne true love for Mishules BJW18, lovely black girl who is maturing nicely since I last judged her in the summer. Really coming into her own now, liked her reach of neck, good front and depth of chest, level topline and nicely angulated rear, well off for bone and well muscled up, just not as positive on the move as BOB today but another for the future.

Open (2, 1a) 1st & BOB Sandersons NL Ch Thandiwe Arthur sixpence, 6 year old liver boy in his prime. Have judged him before and still like him a lot, Noble head with chiseling so like his dad, and also scores in chest, front assembly and topline, tight feet, in good coat and condition and moved at correct pace showing drive from rear, happy temperament, hope he gets his English title too.
