Retrievers (Golden)

Puppy (4,2)

1st    Lewis DAMASK PENELOPE

A very pretty bitch with a lovely head and expression and excellent eye shape and colour. Strong and clean through the neck. Correct lay back of shoulder and front angulation. Standing on good legs, just would like her to tighten in elbow a little. I liked her overall body shape, well developed forechest with good spring of ribs for her age.  Loin of correct length, quarters well-made well bent stifles, top line correct and tail well set.  Just finding her feet on the move but has attitude about her. A nice type of puppy.

2nd    Pickup’s BLENDSTONE HENDRIX

Another with a lovely head piece with a super eye to enhance that typical expression. Clean reach of neck in to well-placed shoulders. Good front angles, her body is developing well, ribs springing nicely just a shade long in loin. Quarters well made with a good bend of stifle. Couldn’t match the winner on the move today, she just needs to settle.

Junior (3,1)

1st    Williams THORNYWAIT FULLY MONTY AT TREBETTYN

I really liked this chap, he was certainly enjoying himself, his owner handler less so. Well made young man he presented a balanced picture on the stack. He has a masculine head with pleasing expression. Strong clean reach of neck leading on to correctly placed shoulders. Good front construction. Stands on well boned legs and neat feet. Good overall body proportions. Quarters well made with good width, stifles well bent and correct from hock to heel. Once he settled movement was true in profile, and fore and aft. He just stood out challenge and out moved the rest, I was delighted to award him Best of Breed. Once he gets his head together he will do well.

2nd    Lewis DAMASK SCARLET HOLLY

This lady was 13 months old. I thought she was elegant with an OK front assembly, a tad short in upper arm. Standing on well boned legs. Good body proportions and quarters well made, stifles well bent. Coat in lovely condition. Didn’t have the accuracy of footfall on the move as the winner.

Post Graduate (5,4)

1st    Coulstock & Williams CWMTAFF JACK THE LAD AT PANTEGPARISH

Two year old boy with a pleasing head with a masculine expression. An adequate reach of neck. I would have liked him a bit tighter in elbow. Good overall body proportions, still needs to drop in to his front which he will do with time. Excellent spring of rib and length of loin. Quarters well made with a good bend of stifle. Coat was in good condition. Movement was positive and with drive. Good profile action.

Limit (3,2)

1st     Nicholl’s LARGYMORE YOU’RE MY WORLD JW ShCM

Upstanding dog with a good outline. He has a pleasing masculine head with a super eye shape. Clean reach of neck. Decent front assembly, would have like a little more return of upper arm. Good overall body proportions, ribs well sprung and good length and strength to loin. Quarters well made with a good bend of stifle. Coat was in good condition. Movement was positive and with drive, just a little too proud of his tail.

Open Dog (2,1)

1st    Goddard’s SONEVE STARGAZER AT GLANSEVERN

A smart six year old chap with a lovely pleasing head and expression with well set ears. Strong and clean through the neck. I liked his overall body shape, well developed forechest with good spring of ribs. Correct length & depth of loin, quarters well-made well bent stifles, standing on well boned legs, level top line with correct tail set.  Moved OK with drive just would have preferred him a tad tidier in front when he came towards me.

Open Bitch (3,1)

1st    Rees’ CATENAE AMAZING GRACE JW

She has a beautiful feminine head. Strong and clean through the neck, with correct lay back of shoulder. I liked her overall body shape, forechest good for her age, with an adequate spring of ribs. Correct length & depth to loin, quarters well-made well bent stifles, standing on well boned legs & neat feet, super level topline which she held on the move, leading on to a correct tail set.  Fluid mover with a good action.

2nd    Williams PANTEGPARISH MY OH MY

She presents a lovely shape on the stack and a super outline. I loved her head and expression, she is so pretty. Good through the neck, shoulders well place but a tad short in upper arm. Good depth to forechest and stands on well boned legs. Ribs well sprung and firm loin giving a level top line. Excellent well developed quarters. On the move she had drive but today not the accuracy in her action of the winner.

Spaniel (Cocker)

Puppy (5,0)

1st    Shrinkfield and Lester’s QUETTADENE TOUCH THE STARS

A lovely black in gleaming coat and condition, she is lovely to go over. Clearly has a playful streak in her. Classic head on her with a beautiful melting expression. She has a clean reach of neck which led in to well set shoulders. Front developing exactly as it should for her age. Very balanced in outline and good well-made quarters. Still needs to find her feet on the move but once she settled I could see a true action. Best Puppy.

2nd    Morris RIONDEL CANDYMAN

Litter bother to the third placed bitch who were giving a lot away in age and development to Touch the Stars. I liked this chap on the move, more fluid that the others in the class today. He has a good overall outline, he head is developing nicely plenty of work and development but should finish well. Short coupled and with well-developed ribs for his age. Quarters moderately angles with a good bend of stifle.

3rd    Morris RIONDEL CARIBBEAN BLU

Junior (2,0)

1st    Hooper’s SPENDELES SPIN IN SILVER

I really liked this boy. He has a lovely head and expression with well-defined chiselling. He has good bone and stands on super legs and feet. Correct reach of neck which led in to a good layback of shoulder. Short deep body with well sprung ribs. Well-muscled quarters and moves with real drive and purpose, held his topline well. He pushed the Stat Time right to the line for the top spot. I will keep a watch out for him as I think he will have a bright future ahead of him.

2nd    Wilson’s JABEVLA WALK THE WILD SIDE

This liver roan was just six month and had her playful head on today. Head developing nicely, eyes are a shade light at the moment but should darken over time. Good front assembly on her, legs and feet good. Body well made, a shade long in loin but will hopefully balance out as she grows. Needs to settle on the move but today was her first attempt in the show ring, so with a bit of practice she will learn the ropes.

Post Graduate (3,1)

1st    Harvey’s TOMERINE SUPER TROOPER ShCM

Sound boy of 23 months. Head is masculine and appealing. Long in neck in to a well made front assembly, shoulders well back, perhaps just a little short in upper arm. Ribs well sprung and good through the body. Quarters well made and good on the move.

2nd    Perkins ROCKLLOCERS ICE CRYSTAL

Pretty bitch, very pretty in head with good chiselling and definition. I liked her over all shape, god angles fore and aft. Ribs well sprung and firm in loin. Not quite the quarters of the winner, nor as fluid on the move.

Limit (3,0)

1st    Morris’ RIONDEL MURPHY’S LAW

Good shape on this boy, head masculine. Clean reach of neck in to well set shoulders and a decent return of upper arm. Ribs well sprung and a firm loin. Good quarters on him which she used to advantage on the move with a merry bustling action which gave him the class.

2nd    Hooper’s SPENDELS SHE’S A DANCER

Litter sister to the junior dog winner and like her a lot. A very pretty girl with a feminine expression. Body well-made of good overall proportions. Not quite holding her shape today on the stack, and needs to find her feet a little bit on the move, but bags of promise about her and I am sure she will finish well.

3rd    Perkins ROCKLLOCERS ICE CRYSTAL

Open (5,0)

1st    Shrinkfield and Lester’s QUETTADENE STAR TIME JW ShCM

A Black bitch of super type, she has a gorgeous head and gentle expression with good chiselling and a kind eye. Strong through the neck into a well assembled front. Good depth to her chest and legs well bone. Her body has good overall proportions, her ribs are well sprung and she has a firm loin. Quarters well made with a good bend of stifle. Had a real merry cockery action about her on the move with accurate footfall. Played around a bit in the challenge but did enough to take Best of Breed over the junior dog.

2nd    Bowen’s CHARBONNEL RICH’N’FAMOUS

Another smart one, I liked this chap on the stack on my initial assessment, where he presented a clean outline with balance. Clean through the neck, decent shoulder placement but not quite the front assembly of the winner. His body is well made with a decent spring of rib and firm loin. Quarters well made. Not quite the action of Start Time on the move today, needed to settle a little.

3rd    Hughes’ GLANTRAETH TIME TO DREAM

Pointers

Puppy

1ST    Philo FYDAL CAPRIO AT SALMONMIST

A smart boy, just over 12months who is impressive on the stack and on the move. Masculine in head with good expression. Decent front assembly, standing on good legs and neat feat. Correct depth of forechest, ribs well sprung and a good firm loin. Quarters well made with well bent stifles. Moved positively around the ring with a good action both in profile and fore and aft. Could not deny him Best of Breed, well done I think he will have a bright future ahead of him.

Open

1st    Cooper’s TROSNANT SHADOW OF DREAMS ShCM

Another really typy dog with a super outline. Typical head and expression which was correctly proportioned. Good front construction, neck well proportioned, would have just like a little more lay back of shoulder. Good depth of chest. Well made through the body with ribs well sprung firm through the loin. Super quarters with well bent stifles and hocks well let down. A little untidy on the move today and didn’t have the accuracy of Caprio in the challenge.

German Shorthaired Pointes

Post Graduate (7,2)

1st    Burford’s PINGARYPOINT LEGOLICIOUS

I saw her only a couple of weeks ago in an AV class when I judge and she did well under me then. She is growing up very nicely. Her head is well portioned and has good balance. Strong neck, in to a good front assembly and a decent amount of bone. Ribs well sprung and a firm loin giving a level topline. Quarters are developing well with a good moderate bend of stifle. Sometimes her markings can be a distraction on the move, once you can see through that it is easy to see she drives well off the rear and has a good profile action.

2nd    Burford’s KAVACANNE MORGAN YOU KNOW

Another dog that I liked, clean in outline on the stack and very balanced. Pleasing masculine head and expression. Good neck in to well set shoulders, just a tad wide. Stands on good well boned legs and neat feet. Decent amount of depth to his chest, ribs well sprung and firm in loin. Well put together rear quarters. Sound on the move but not as tidy as the winner in front action.

3rd    Fry’s WALDBURG INDUS

Open (5,0)

1st    Burford’s PINGARYPOINT EYE CANDY JW

Two kennel mates headed this class and very similar in type and make up. I thought Eye Candy had a little more elegance today, feminine in head, very pretty  with good definition. Well made front with shoulders well set and stands on well bones legs. Body of good overall proportion, ribs well spring through to a firm loin. Good rear angles, well muscled quarters which she used to advantage on the move to take the class and Best of Breed.

2nd     Burford’s PINGARYPOINT HOT TOPIC

Very similar remarks to the winner but wasn’t as tidy as the winner in front action which cost her the class. She is a typy bitch with good overall makeup. Well handled to advantage.

3rd    Thomas and Taylors KNABYNNUS AURORA BOREAALIS

Well-made hindquarters and once he settled he had that typical elasticity in movement. Best of Breed.

Weimaraner

Open (6,3)

1st    Stafford’s GUNALT REPARTEE FARNFIELD

On the first move around the ring she had a certain style and elegance that kept grabbing my attention.  She has the most lovely head piece, correct in length to breadth ratio, and an expression that is hard to resist.  Neck of good length and strength, super lay back of shoulder with the correct return of upper arm giving her super forward extension on the move.  Chest is deep and ribs are well sprung and back with a firm loin of correct length and slight tuck up, quarters were well developed and had the correct amount of angulation to give her a balanced and open side gait.  Going and coming she was true and straight, a pleasure to judge and had no hesitation in awarding her Best of Breed.

2nd    Burgess’ GUNALT ROCK OUT WITH HANTZBURG ShCM RL1

Solid dog in super hard condition, pleasing head and expression, neck of good length and clean through shoulders, good depth to forechest and straight in front, Ribs sprung and well back and maintained a level topline throughout.  Loin of correct length and well angulated quarters.  Moved well in profile covering the ground and driving from his quarters.

3rd    Burgess’ GREYSPIRIT ROCK STAR FROM HANTBURG

I liked this lady for shape and outline. Head of good shape and proportion with a pleasing eye shape to give a feminine expression. Shoulders well placed and a good return of upper arm. She has a decent front on her with depth to chest. Super through the body, correct spring the ribs, firm loin and level topline. Very sound on the move both in profile and fore and aft. Pleased to award her Best of Breed.

2nd    Staff’s BONNYHILBRAE ROYAL FLUSH

Not quite the finish of the winner but she has a good overall shape and Balance. Head appealing with a pleasing expression. Good proportions through the body with ribs well developed for her age and strength in loin. Quarters well made with stifles well bent. Good drive on the move but not quite the accuracy of Royal Mint.

A balanced elegant bitch with a very appealing head and expression, Good through the neck. Stands on well boned legs and good feet. Shoulders well laid back, good depth to the chest for her age. Body of good proportions and quarters well developed. A very balanced bitch that had a good profile action which enabled her to win the class. Just felt the heat today and not quite enough drive so gave way to her kennel mate for top honours.

2nd    Stephenson’s BITCON TALKING POINT OF FALAHALL

Well made boy, well up for size but still balanced. Head masculine but a little much for my tastes. Well made through the body. Good front assembly, shoulders well laid back and good return of upper arm. Decent spring of rib and a firm through the loin. Well made quarters with a good bend of stifle.

3rd    Staff’s BONNYHILBRAE EBONY SILK

1st    Danks-Kemish’s RAVENSETT WORK OF ART AT ALOLFRANA

This chap is just 10 months and has so much to like about him, he really impressed. He has a masculine head of good proportions and a dark eye giving a soft and gentle expression.  Good through the neck and shoulder and desired return of forearm.  Ribs well back and correct depth to forechest.  Has the right amount of substance throughout for his age.  Once settled he put his powerful quarters to use with a free driving action good going away, just needs to tighten slightly when he comes towards me.

2ND    William’s SKIPPIT SKY FULL OF STARS

Another good one who looked the picture on the stack but wasn’t at all together on the move as the winner. Pleasing in head and expression, clean through the neck and leading to well placed shoulders. Well made body of correct proportions and balance, Good through the quarters.

Good spring of ribs.  Correct bend of stifle with a good topline, which she held on the move.  Well made quarters with she used to advantage on the move with a positive driving action. He just wouldn’t play the game as the sun had come out and he was very hot. Super coat in excellent condition. Gave his handler a hard and didn’t make the best of himself on the stack and just would go on the move today.
