Gundog Group

I thought this was a super group, with lots of quality dogs in it. My winner was Bradley’s SH CH VIZSLANYA VIVMANY BY HIGHFORCE JW ShCM (Hung Viz) who I thought was top drawer, she flowed around the ring with a typical action and I could not deny her the top spot. Runner up was Thomas BOWDONIA’S ANASTASIA (WSS), I judged her a few weeks ago when she did well under me. She a well-built girl and so well balanced. In third spot was Blay’s BARLEYARCH SKYE AT LONGBARROW (GSP), still very young, only just out of puppy but has bags of potential about her and pulls in to a super shape on the stack. If she carries on growing in the direction I think she will have a very bright future ahead of her. In Fourth spot was Hutson’s STOBYTILL HIPPY HIPPY SHAKE (Cocker), another youngster who I liked for outline and her typical bustling movement.

Puppy Group

The puppy group was headed by Justice’s LUDSTAR LA LA LANDTO LIRIC (Imp ITA) - Gordon Setter, who came through from the AVNSC class and I thought was a really exciting youngster. Her action on the move was just so typical, true and free flowing. In second place was List’s HAYDENGOLD RUMOUR HAS IT who had won through the breed under me. Still young and finding his feet on the move but presented a balanced picture on the stack. In the third place Barrett’s AFFILATO’S HAPPY EVER AFTER AT BAROLD (Italian Spinone) who certainly has bags of potential about her. In fourth spot was White’s PADUAN SUNNY DISPOSITION (Irish Setter) who is still young and a little raw but has the outline and style I was looking for, all the essentials at this stage.

AVNSC Gundog

Puppy

1st Justice’s LUDSTAR LA LA LANDTO LIRIC (Imp ITA) - Gordon Setter

What a cracking youngster to start the day with, 11 months and progressing in all the right direction. Presents the most super outline on the stack, totally balanced. I liked her head piece, super expression and just what I was looking for, with a lovely kind eye. Clean neck in to well set shoulders, good front assembly. Body well made with good proportions and quarters are developing well. Super side gate on her, just flowed round the ring with a super side gait, she couldn’t put her feet wrong. Loved her, Best AVNSC puppy and later Group 1. I will watch her career with interest.

Junior

This was a difficult decision as both came out of the top drawer

1st Blay’s BARLEYARCH SKYE AT LONGBARROW – GSP

Took the class as was more the finished article. Super outline on the stack, head is feminine with a pleasing expression, eyes need to darken a shade but that should happen with age. Super front assembly on her, shoulders well placed with a good return of upper arm. Standing on well boned legs and lovely tight feet. Well made in the body with a firm loin, good moderate quarters with stifles well bent which she used to advantage on the move. Sound action with a super side gate, accurate foot fall. Best AVNSC and later Group 3 in strong competition, should have a bright future ahead of her.

2nd Justice’s LUDSTAR LA LA LANDTO LIRIC (Imp ITA)

Post Graduate

1st Olner and Harrison’s SCHOLHUND SHOW LA DIVA LOCA - Weimaraner

Smart bitch with a feminine head with the correct balance and with a soft yet intelligent expression, would like her eyes a shade darker. Clean and balanced throughout, everything flows. Powerful reach of neck, good lay back of shoulder and the correct return of upper arm. Depth to forechest and ribs sprung and well back leading to a powerful loin which meant she held her topline throughout and finished by a correctly set and carried tail. Quarters were well developed and used to advantage on the move, footfall was excellent. One I liked a lot and close up in the challenge.

Open

1st Andrews FALLOWFEN FAITHFUL YOKO OF JEMMATEE - NSDTR

I found this three and half year old bitch’s head pleasing and of good shape with a feminine expression, would like her eyes a shade darker. Good reach of neck, correct layback of shoulder. Good overall shape with balanced body proportioned. Good spring of rib and firm loin. Quarters well made with well bent stifles. Moved out well with that typical jaunty action.

2nd Olner and Harrison’s SCHOLHUND SHOWSABATICAL – Weimaraner

Another lovely lady out of a slightly bigger mould but maintaining all the essentials. Feminine in head and expression, of good proportions. Clean in outline, super reach of neck, level topline and good finish to croup. Balanced angles both fore and aft and depth and strength to her body, just carrying a shade too much weight today. Giving a picture of power and stamina as she went around the ring, not quite as fluid as the winner which cost her the class.

Puppy

1st List’s HAYDENGOLD RUMOUR HAS IT

A very pretty bitch rising nine months old, with a lovely head and expression and excellent eye shape and colour. Strong and clean through the neck. Correct lay back of shoulder and front angulation. Standing on good legs, just would like her to tighten in elbow a little. I liked her overall body shape, well developed forechest with good spring of ribs for her age. Loin of correct length, quarters well made well bent stifles, top line correct and tail well set. Just finding her feet on the move but has attitude about her. A promising puppy Best Puppy, Reserve Best of Breed and later Puppy Group 2.

2nd Archer’s HAYDENGOLD ROCK STAR AT SUNANDAIR

I thought this a very smart young dog who I see was sibling to the winner. He is well put together with good balanced angles fore and aft. His headpiece is developing nicely and has correct proportion, good eye shape to give an appealing expression. Good front assembly, strong neck and standing on well boned legs and nice tight feet. Needs to drop in to his front but will do that as he matures. Body of good proportions with ribs springing nicely. Quarters well made, moderate bend of stifle. He had fun on the move, as a puppy should but I could see his footfall was accurate.

Junior

1st Pounds-Longhurst’s ROSGARE DOLLY O’DARE AMONG MOSSBURN

This young lady was just 13 months, at that in-between stage but has all the essentials and is developing really nicely. I liked her angles and overall shape, balanced head of good proportions, eyes dark and she has an appealing feminine expression. Stands on good legs, needs to drop in to her front which she will do with time. Clean reach of neck in to a super front assembly. Good angles fore and aft, needs to develop in rib but should do that with age. Held her top line well both on the stack and on the move. Moved with drive and accuracy in footfall for one so young.

Post Graduate

This young lady scored on overall construction and make up. A pale bitch she presented a lovely outline on the stack and excelled on the move. Her head is feminine, clean through the neck which led in to correctly placed shoulder, good front angles and return of upper arm. Standing on well boned legs and neat feet. Good depth of chest for her age. Ribs springing nicely, firm though the loin and super level top line. Well-made quarters with a good bend of stifle. Just needs a little more coat to complete the picture

2nd Beeson’s ESINED TITANIA

She has a clean reach of neck in to well-placed shoulders, not quite a good in front assembly as the winner but still has a good lay back of shoulders. Dropping into her chest nicely, standing on the good legs, needs tighter feet. Body well made with good proportions and quarters well developed with stifles well bent. Went well on the move with a good action, carried her tail well just a shade close behind today.

Good overall shape and balance from this bitch, head of good proportions. Good through the neck in to well to well-placed shoulders. Well boned legs and good depth to chest. Ribs ok but would have looked a little more spring, firm though the loin giving her a level top line. Quarters well made with a good bend to stifle. In good coat and condition. Had drive on the move. Not quite the outline of the winner.

3RD Taggart’s ALTINDAN GO WITH THE FLOW

Hungarian Vizsla

Open

1st Bradley’s Sh Ch Vizslanya Vivmany by Highforce JW ShCM

This lady stood alone in the breed but it was easy to see that she had quality stamped through her. She has the most elegant of outlines on the stack. Her head is classic, lean without any exaggeration with the good overall shape and square muzzle. Lovey eye colour to give that feminine expressions. Neck is strong and leads in to a well assembled front, shoulders well laid back and a good return of forearm. Stands on well boned legs and good round feet. Good depth to chest and ribs well sprung. Quarters well made with correct amount of angulation. On the move she has excellent footfall and covered the ground with ease. I was not surprised to see afterwards that she has her crown. Delighted to award her Best of Breed and subsequently Gundog Group 1. I was thrilled to hear she was later declared Best in Show, many congratulations.
