Coventry & District Gundog Society Open Show 02.12.18

I would like to thank the committee, stewards and exhibitors for a well-run show with a lovely ringside atmosphere.

Retriever (Curly coated)

1. James’ Kahawei Teal.

Black 7mo bitch. Clean wedge-shaped head. Small neat ears and good pigmentation. Well angulated front and rear, with neat tight feet. Moved elegantly round the ring, but a tad untidy when stood. BPIB.

2. Driscoll’s Fleetpaw One For Arthur.

Liver 8mo dog. Masculine head with strong muzzle. Good bone and well muscled. Stood well in profile but unsettled on the move, which cost him today.

1. Philips & Harris’ Gladrags Cream In My Coffee.

14mo liver bitch. Littermate to Open winner. Feminine head with well-placed ears. Good length of neck set onto well laid shoulder. Adequate bone and tight feet. Lovely outline in profile.

1. Philips & Harris’ Gladrags Ain’t Misbehavin.

Black 14mo dog. Typical wedge-shaped head set on strong neck. Well angulated and muscled rear and stood beautifully in profile. Held his topline and had the best movement on the day, showing ample drive. Kind expression and shown in good coat. Pleased to award BOB.

2. Spraggins’ Maycourt Hot Love At Tusepo.

2yo liver bitch. Compact moderate bitch with good substance. Very steady with a lovely temperament. Balanced angulation and held her topline well on the move. Well handled. RBOB.

1. Pont’s Penrose Hash Brown

2yo bitch in good hard condition with well-oiled thick coat. Feminine head with correct ear placement. Sound movement displaying good drive. Stood square and presented herself well. BOB.

 

Retriever (Nova Scotia Duck Tolling)

1. Fincham’s Danehaven Ralph.

8mo dog. Kind expression & good sized ear. Compact body and neat tight feet. Holds topline well on the move, using his tail to his advantage. Shown in good coat and shows maturity for his age. BPIB.

Junior (4,0)

1. Barker’s Eusanit Silvr Dream Machine.

15mo dog who appears very finished. Very mature and shown in fantastic coat and condition. Strong wedge-shaped head with good size ears and kind expression. Good front angulation and well muscled. RBOB.

2. Sharpe’s Tivalake Crystal Ball At Rosettia.

14mo compact bitch. Good ear and shown in good coat. Well angulated front. Very fluid on the move, but a little close behind going away. Very well handled.

Post Graduate (7,1)

1. Collins & Powley’s Danhaven Kovik.

2yo dog, up to size. Broad, masculine head with dark pigment. Well sprung ribs and shown in hard condition. Efficient, jaunty mover and uses his tail well. One to watch in the future.

2. Fuard’s Tollelkin Bay Of Ice.

3yo dog. Nice spring of rib and stood square. Good bone and well-angulated rear. Happy kind expression.

3. Foster-Brown’s Stellenbosch Tiberon.

20mo dog. Understated, compact male with attractive head. Short coupled & well angulated, standing on tight round feet. Preferred the substance of 2.

1. Powley’s Chrilikas Duke Of Danehaven (Imp Nor)

6yo male shown in hard condition. Typical wedge-shaped head with alert expression. Well-sprung ribs, and good front and rear angulation leading onto well let down hocks. Best mover of the day showing good reach & drive, using his tail well. Not in his best coat today. Pleased to award BOB.
