Stafford & District Canine Society 2018 

I would like to thank the Officers and Committee for inviting me to judge at their show, they must be commended for their hard work in making the day so successful. A special thanks must go the stewards who kept my rings flowing throughout the day. 

Best In Show 

What a spectacular line up I had to choose from, the group judges had put through some great examples to represent them. 

BIS Mrs Gibbs Phadante Mr Blue Sky JW Dalmation. This boy caught my eye as he entered the ring. He is well balanced and muscular with a symmetrical outline. Nice head proportions, flat and broad between the ears. Correct bite with a strong powerful muzzle. Nicely arched clean neck leading to correctly placed shoulders. Strong straight front with elbows fitting close to body. Good deep chest and sprung rib, strong level topline which he held on the move. Well developed strong hindquarters with good turn of stifle. On the move is when he really showed himself, smooth powerful gait with good reach in the front and powerful drive from the rear.   

RBIS Mr & Mrs Edwards Castlerose Star Turn JW ShCM Shetland Sheepdog. An overall well balanced dog with correctly proportioned head and body. Head planes spot on with a good flat skull and slight but definite stop. Tight lips of correct pigment and clear well set eyes of correct shape. Neat well carried ears giving him his alert intelligent expression. Well arched strong neck and well placed shoulders. Straight front with ample bone for size, chest deep with well sprung ribs. Straight level back which was held on the move. Broad, straight and muscular hindquarters with well let down hocks. He moved with grace covering the ground with minimum effort.    

Best Puppy In Show 

BPIS Mrs J Brock Supeta’s Wild at Heart with Truvel Dobermann. Such an elegant and muscular young lady. Head in correct proportion to her body showing the ideal parallel lines and blunt wedge the standard calls for. Dark almond eyes, correctly set and showing that alert expression. Correct bite, with a strong jaw to match. Clean muscular neck leading to correctly placed shoulders. Muscular and straight front with the right amount of bone. Square body with deep well sprung ribs, with a strong and straight topline. Well-muscled hindquarters, with good turn of stifle. Her well balanced movement allowed her to cover the ground with ease. 

RBPIS Mrs P Maule Daltricia Arapaho Shih tzu. Broad, round head with a good width to muzzle. Large dark round eyes. Neck nicely arched. Good lay of shoulder and strong muscular short legs, correct body proportions with a good broad deep chest and a level topline. Short straight muscular hindquarters. On the move he had good reach in the front with good drive showing full pad from the rear which gave him his smooth flowing action. 

Best Veteran In Show 

BVIS Mr & Mrs Heritage Jazzmeenah Ariel ShCM Afghan Hound. Correct long head but not narrow. Correct bite with a good under jaw, correct eyes giving him his oriental expression. Excellent reach of neck with proud head carriage leading to well laid back shoulders and strong straight front assembly. Deep chest with good spring of rib, well muscled level back. Correct stifles which were well muscled and well let down hocks. He moved with style across the ground.  

RBVIS Mrs C Henshall CH Gemolli Joie De Vivre JW ShCM Italian Greyhound. Long flat narrow head with a lovely expression from her large bright eyes. Ears rose shaped and set well back, correct even bite.  Correct long ached neck, well placed shoulder and a straight front. Good depth and length of ribcage with correct topline. Long straight and muscled hindquarters. Moved well never losing that elegant outline. 

Working Group 

1. Mrs & Miss Fox CH Foxwood’s Destiny’s Child. Excellent head, good expression from dark almond eyes, strong neck into well made front with good forechest and depth, wide thigh and excellent muscle, moving with purpose, the best of coats and presented in top condition. 

2. Mr & Miss Trueman & Brownridge Jaegerot Billie Jean. Strong head with deep stop, correct breadth of muzzle, well developed cheek bones, medium size ears carried correctly, very dark eyes. Strong neck, straight front and correct shoulder placement. Deep well sprung ribs, strong loin, well developed rear quarters and strong hocks. Very sound and balanced when moving. 

3. Miss J Middleton Rayjen Campaign. Nice clean head with good length of foreface, dark eye and good bite. Neck, wither and topline flowed into each other. Straight front, strong pasterns and well laid shoulders. Correct depth of chest. Well muscled rear assembly with hocks well let down. Free easy movement with good drive. 

4. Mrs K Tinker Zaltana Heartbreaker Kid at Lolotea (Imp Pol). Balanced foxy head with correct eyes giving a keen and alert expression. Muscular neck to a good lay of shoulder, straight in front with good pasterns and feet. Has a pleasing body shape clean lined and level topline. Moved effortlessly and very true away and back. 

Working Puppy Group

3. Ms J Davies Endlessacreas Just Hattie at Coulbymoor. Correct head type with a pleasing expression, with clear dark eye and correct broad muzzle with a good mouth, well off for bone and moved steady. 

4. Mrs & Mr Watmough & Allen Wyggfuzz Fistful of Steel at Andmaura. Nice head with flat skull, dark Eye, nice ear set and carriage. Good front assembly, with a good forechest, good hindquarters. Good coat texture, well presented.  

Dobermann

1. Miss & Mr Bishops & Hinks Townkelloe Lady Jasmine. Parallel head planes and dark eye. Good depth of chest and ample bone. Good tight feet and elbows and moved out well.

1. Mr & Mrs Tinsley & Adams Sherrebenca Magic Potion. Square in outline and excelling in topline and tailset. Good, straight, well developed front and well turned stifle. Pleasing head and expression, good underjaw, parallel planes and dark eyes. Moved well. BOB.

1. Mrs & Mr Watmough & Allen Wyggfuzz Fistful of Steel at Andmaura. Nice head with flat skull, dark Eye, nice ear set and carriage. Good front assembly, with a good forechest, good hindquarters. Good coat texture, well presented. BP 

2. Miss C Gordon Primavista Has the Look. A very pleasing outline and moved very well. Unfortunately, she was too unsettled today.

1. Mrs miller Quatermain of Cheese Hill with Brindaree (Imp). Good height to length ratio, broad skull with a fair eye and expression with good length and breadth of muzzle. Clean neck, bone and substance to match his size, has a strong and broad rump with a good expanse of thigh. Moved well for such a big lad. BOB.

2. Mr J Plimmer Jaegerot Rockin Robin. Well balanced and compact strong ribcage. Typical head with sufficient stop and medium dark eyes. Well angulated strong hindquarters which she uses well on the move. 

3. Ms Broadbank Bevanray Shirley. 

Post Graduate 

1. Ms Jacobs Salonga Lets Get Wicked. Strong head with deep stop, correct breadth of muzzle, well developed cheek bones, medium size ears carried correctly, dark eyes. Strong neck into straight front legs, well sprung ribs. Sound when moving. 

2. Mr Dudley Kottage Baron Von Hochland. Very masculine dog with good bone and substance. Pleasing head type with excellent depth of chest and level topline. Not moving his best today.

1. Mrs K Tinker Zaltana Kiss My Paws at Lolotea (Imp Pol). Well balanced with a foxy head, good earset and bite. Level topline and pleasing side profile. Moved well drive reach and drive. 

2. Mrs Ranby Siberiadrift Wolf Moon. Masculine looking, good earset and keen eyed. Well laid shoulder, level topline, front and rear angulation to match. Well balanced boy moving.

2. Mrs Byrne Akna Carroz. A masculine boy with a good shaped head. Well set eyes and ears and correct bite. Neck short and strong and well defined withers. Good width to chest and a straight back. Covered the ground well with drive. 

Veteran 

1. Mrs B Edwards Abuklea Brief Encounter. At 8 years old she still has a lively and alert character. Nice head with good proportions, medium size ears, dark almond shape eyes. Good depth of chest and well sprung ribs, strong back and moderate turn of stifle. Enjoyed herself which showed in energetic movement.

2. Mrs B Edwards Cseresznyeskert-Csalfa Zajos (Imp Hun) Hungarian Pumi. Good breed type and in full coat which was put down in excellent condition, balanced and good head and expression, good neck and shoulders, correct topline and tailset, moved well.

1. Mrs & Mrs Bufton & Riley Wylloh Anastasia. Nice head and pigment, straight front well angulated front and rear tight feet strong well ribbed body. Good level topline which she held on the move. Shown in great condition. 

2. Mrs S Grimshaw Sharpuggles Maggie. Compact bitch with typical expression clear dark eye excellent bite and pigment well placed ears lovely harsh coat in wonderful condition correct topline and tailset moved with drive.

2. Mrs D Matthews Medogold Tartini with Sonham. Good head, deep chest, good neck and shoulder, shown in good condition, looked and moved well.

1. Mrs Deveson Janetstown Je Suis JW ShCM. Flat skull, lean head, correct eye size shape and placement, soft feminine expression, good underjaw. Good shoulder angulation and depth and length of rib she moved with ease. 

2. Mrs Vaughan Shirotae Solo Surprise. Nice head and expression. Good forequarters with nicely arched neck and well laid shoulders. Good ribs, definite tuck up. Good breadth of thigh and hocks are well let down. Sound on the move showing drive from the rear

2. Mr & Mrs Yeomans Kezang Golden Idol. Nicely balanced with masculine head and pleasing expression, muzzle well furnished and good pigmentation, good width to chest and depth to body, level topline, held his shape on the move.

1. Mrs P Maule Daltricia Kwakwali. Typical head, lovely eye shape and colour with a very good nose placement. Good square, broad jaw creating a lovely expression. Well arched neck flowing into well laid shoulders. Very good forechest and ribcage. Good topline and well set tail showing a lovely outline. Well angulated rear, which showed in his powerful back movement. BOB. 

2. Mr & Mrs Yeomans Hongchue Gallant Hero ShCM. Well constructed. Nice shape and substance. Pleasing head type and arched neck, deep broad chest and well angulated rear. Moved well.

1. Mr & Mrs Rofe Chenrezi Dancing Queen. Good head, pleasing eye shape with dark rims, well set ears and good dentition. Moderately boned with good forechest. Well bodied for age with good tailset. Moved well. BP

1. Mrs Rose Caselden Simply Red. Slightly domed skull, good ear set, pleasing expression. Well bodied with high set tail. Moved well. 

Post Graduate 

1. Mrs Rose Caselden All That jazz. Lovely head and expression with dark oval eye and dark rims. Excellent mouth. Good forechest and strong well ribbed body. Absolutely sound on the move with a free brisk action. BOB 

2. Mr & Mrs Ross Caselden Bella Rose. The daughter of 1 which shows in her movement. Another with a pleasing head, good dentition, slight bow in forelegs, good body. Moved soundly.

1. Mrs Rose Blaze of Glory at Anasmas. A well presented mature dog in excellent coat and condition. Very pleasing head with a kind expressive eye. Good forechest with moderate bone and typical feet. Good topline, moved well. 

2. Mr C Ross Caselden Obi Wan Kenobi. Typical and well balanced with correct skull and good ears. Well bodied with a good topline and high set tail. Shown in good coat and moved well.
