Midland Counties – Kooikerhondje

Lovely to judge as a nice lot of dogs I haven’t come across before. Thrilled with my fantastic entry for this up and coming breed. I like them a lot and the future looks promising. They all seemed to have excellent temperaments.

1st -Middanwinter Pony Parade (Miss J Everett) - Lovely little baby with a happy disposition.  Has the required dark pigment and eyes, Head is still developing as are his earrings, definitely masculine. A nice body with level topline, tail carried high. Correct colouring and well boned with oval feet. Trotted around the ring with such confidence. BP

1st -Genetika Rumpelstiltskin (Ms C Suiter) - A chunky boy with a masculine head of correct proportions and wedge shaped muzzle. Framed by his correct ears and earrings. Loved his straight front leading to oval feet. Correct length of leg and slightly longer than tall. Moved in a spritely manner but sometimes loses his topline when standing.

2nd -Gladsheim Helios (Mrs S Whitehead) – Slightly smaller than 1 all over, but with correct proportions. Dark eyes and pigmentation with well set ears complete with earrings. Medium bone and oval feet. Good topline and heavily feathered tail. Moved happily.

3rd -Gladsheim Eleodoro (Mr A & Mrs K Guy)

Two very nice dogs

1st -Genetika Tiny Tom Thumb(Au3) (Mrs J M Frankcom) – A dog of good proportions with adequate angulation front and rear. Thick coat with long feathering on tail. Held his topline standing and moving. Well boned and oval feet.

2nd -Papikoi's Funsize Twix At Kerfkooiker (Mr A & Mrs I Kerfoot) – Preferred this boys straighter front. Ok for bone and nice oval feet. Wedge shaped head with correct proportions. Good ribs and well muscled. Not in his best coat today.

1st -Chriskoois Octavius At Genetika (Imp Est) (Ms C Suiter) – What a handsome young man. Although I felt his muzzle a little short, his head was appealing and masculine with dark pigment, eyes and earrings. Well off for bone, good spring of ribs and colouring. Held a very well feathered tail and lots of coat around the neck. Said ‘look at me’ as he moved around the ring. BD and BOB.

2nd -Cairnbraid Onwaba Lukimbi Of Gladsheim (Imp Bel) (Miss S E Williams) – Another handsome boy with correct pigment, dark eyes and earrings. Masculine, broad skull. Did not always stand his front the best to show himself off. Waved his well feathered tail as he moved. RBD

3rd -Genetika Tiny Tom Thumb(Au3) (Mrs J M Frankcom)

Res -Gladsheim Apollo (Ms S A Marsden)

Veteran - Dog

1st -Unosta Trivial Pursuit (Miss W Groome) – This eight year old was full of beans and in great condition maintaining a level topline. His previously dark pigment was a little faded and had tan eyes. Good ears and earrings framing his face. Good bone and oval feet. Little ticking

Puppy - Bitch

1st -Middanwinter One Trick Pony (Miss W Groome) – Sweet, feminine head of correct proportions with dark eye and pigment, framed by well set ears with earrings developing. Well off for bone with oval feet and good coat. Appeared slightly long for true balance, but legs could grow on. Good topline, moved steadily and and happily. Well handled.

2nd -Jade At Kerfkooiker (Imp Swe) (Mr A & Mrs I Kerfoot) – Finer type and taller than winner with good dark eye and pigment but ears did not always hang correctly. Wedge shaped head, would prefer more length in muzzle. Level topline and oval feet. Good colouring. Moving was not as steady today.

3rd -Middanwinter Magic Pony (Ms F Melling)

Junior - Bitch

Entries: 3 Absentees: 1 – Both quite similar, I felt.

1st -Gladsheim Arunika (Miss S E Williams) – A very attractive type with sweet head of good proportions and correct ears with good earrings. Liked her bone and well held topline. Strong rib cage. Moved with energy and just grabbed attention today. Very promising. BB

2nd -Gladsheim Oriana At Shantess (Mrs L J Allman) – Another with good head, pigment and ears. A little narrow in front at present and needs legs to grow on for better balance. Good topline and well feathered tail. Lots of vitality.

Post Graduate - Bitch

Entries: 1 Absentees: 0 -

1st -Crunchcroft Quantum Leap (Mrs E M Kennedy) – Wedge shaped head and good earrings. Strong neck and forechest. Sometimes drops her topline when standing. A little ticking in coat, but generally a good colour. Moves with a lot of energy and enthusiasm on correct oval feet.

Open - Bitch

Entries: 3 Absentees: 0 – Three different types in this class.

1st -Cirtaps Hertogin Freya Van Qira-T At Genetika (Imp Swe) (Ms C Suiter) – Sweet head with the desired dark pigment and earrings. Straight front with good bone on to oval feet. Good forechest, but occasionally lets topline drop when standing. Moved fluidly with very well feathered tail. Good overall type. RBB

2nd -Cairnbraid Menina Selva At Middanwinter (Miss W Groome) – Good dark eye and pigment. Well sprung through ribcage but front could be tighter. Good oval feet. Would prefer a smoother coat with less waves.

3rd -Sensation Vom Tespelkooi Of Valleyrise (Imp Deu) (Miss C Johnson)

Veteran - Bitch

Entries: 3 Absentees: 0 – A lovely class of veterans who are all a credit to their owners.

1st -Crunchcroft Lyrical (Mrs E M Kennedy) – Liked her head proportions and earrings leading to strong neck. Little ticking on legs, but not distracting. Good forechest, stood and moved with level topline. Well muscled, and just flowed around the ring when she moved.

2nd -Crunchcroft Nightingale In Oranjeweg (Dr J C, Mrs C I, Mr K H & Mrs S M Clarke & Rees) – Mature bitch with very strong neck and excellent muscle. Good forechest and spring of rib. Tried to stand with straight stifles but when she relaxes in to them it gives a better picture. Level topline both standing and moving, but would like to see her go a little faster.

3rd -Crunchcroft Justified Of Valleyrise Shcm (Miss C Johnson)
