Bath 2018

Firstly I would like to thank the officers and committee for inviting me to judge Rough Collies when the original judge was unable to fulfil the appointment. Thanks also to my stewards for keeping everything in order and last but not least to the exhibitors for bringing some lovely quality dogs.

 I was really pleased with my line ups in both sexes. It was lovely to hear such good spirited cheers from around the ring when I awarded top awards, I would like to thank the exhibitors who accepted my decisions gracefully.

Something I feel needs addressing and I have said before is movement and weak hindquarters, as some at first glance looked like my winners but they didn’t stand correctly and I was disappointed when I asked them to move.

The weather wasn’t very kind to us for some of the judging so I made allowances and sympathised with some that where clearly upset from the horrific thunder.

Minor Puppy Dog

 1. Walker & Ritchie - Norska De Remember Our Love for Starlenga (Imp Fra)

 Very well turned out tri baby, he is very well put together and is well off for bone. Good reach of neck, correct placed dark eye, ears well set and used non- stop, masculine yet soft expression, went well on the move for one so young. One I will watch for as I’m sure he will have a bright future. BPD

2. Brooker - Corisian French Connection

 Another nice baby with appealing expression well placed and shaped eye, correct set ears which he used well and very well presented.

Puppy Dog

1. Cronk - Culbrae Code Red at Chelborn

Upstanding s/w with good length of head, well placed dark eye giving pleasing expression, covered the ground well.

2. Lockyer - Riverside Song V I P with Gataj (Imp)

This 8 month old s/w has good overall shape, ample reach of neck, correct placed dark eye, well presented and moved well.

Junior Dog

1. Lockyer - Think of Me Prince of Sunlight at Gataj (Imp)

Well presented young man, well balanced head, correct placed dark eye, good length of back.

2. Broadhead - Rahlissa Only Make Believe

Well sized boy, correct eye placement, well balanced head and good presentation.

Novice Dog

1. Lockyer - Think of Me Prince of Sunlight at Gataj (Imp)

He has a nice clean head with correct amount of stop, nice eye and well set ears and ample reach of neck.

2. Newton & Patterson - Darahill Xanadu

Nice boy with well placed ears and correct eye placement giving pleasing expression. Very well presented.

Post Graduate Dog

1. McLaughlin - Moondance De Cabrenysset for Brihow (Imp)

This super boy has the most beautiful expression coming from lovely dark almond shaped well placed eye, his ears are right on top and he used them non-stop,

he appeals for his make and shape and has a super reach of neck, he is a fabulous colour and was immaculately presented. He went well on the move. I hope this is the start of a successful career as I think as he matures he will be gaining top honours. RDCC

2. Scott - Magical moon of Lowlands Green Valley for Chantique (Imp)

This young man also has desired expression, correct placed eye and ears, he is well put together but today he seemed to be tucking himself up.

Limit Dog

1. Brooker - I Am Fantastic Du Bois Des Amazones for Corisian (Imp)

I loved this lad he has the most sweet expression, lovely eye, well set ears which he used constantly, good reach of neck lovely shape just wish there was a bit more to him.

2. Scott - Chantique Star Dust

He also had sweet yet masculine expression, well moulded foreface, nice eye, and ears right on top.

Open Dog

1. Congdon - Jugband Blues Du Clos De Sea-Wind via Aaronwell (Imp)

This lad caught my eye as soon as he entered the ring he has such a ring presence about him. He has good confirmation and bone, he has the most gorgeous head and expression, well filled foreface, good stop, lovely dark well placed eye and correct set ears all giving a melting expression. His colour is fabulous and he was immaculately presented. He went really well when asked to move a top quality dog who should soon gain his title. DCC

2. Grainger – Samhaven Sound Track

Nice s/w with well balanced head, dark correct placed eye, well set ears, good level topline, moved well.

Veteran Dog

1. Howard - Darahill Chaos at Sablemyst

Well presented beautiful rich s/w, nice level topline and good reach of neck, well placed eye and ears.

Special Beginners Dog/Bitch

1. Page - Lynmead Amalie Let Me Go

This s/w boy is well balanced, correct ear placement, stood four square and moved ok. BSB

2. Hoffman - Brooklynson Amelia Earhart

Good sized s/w bitch with correct ear placement, in good condition.

1. Walker & Ritchie - Nelinka De Remember Our Love for Starlenga (Imp Fra)

I wrote in my notes WOW wish she was mine. I loved everything about her. Litter sister to my PD and what a sweetie she is, she has great overall make and shape, lovely reach of neck, her head is well balanced, correct stop, obliquely set dark eye, ears bang on top, she has the most gorgeous expression. She also was immaculately turned out. She will be one to watch for as I’m sure she will be up there taking top honours. BPB BPIB PG2

2. Milligan & Marley - Ladnar Trust In Me

Lovely shaped blue of good colour, nice eye and well set ears, very well presented and moved well for her age.

Puppy Bitch

1. Wray - Takhisis Aphrodite

 Flashy girl of good size, lovely reach of neck enhanced by huge white collar, correct shaped and placed eye, well set ears. Moved well and well turned out.

2. Growcott - Lillyway Lemonade Blush

Nice quality puppy not as flashy as 1 but she is a lovely shape with good bone, good length of back, sweet expression, dark well placed eye and well set ears. Moved well and very well presented.

Junior Bitch

1. Hawkins - Brilyn Molly Coddles

One I have admired and was not disappointed when getting to handle her. She has an incredible reach of neck, lovely level topline, good bone and substance, nice clean head with correct stop, lovely well placed eye and correct set ears, she has a beautiful expression, moved well and was very well presented. One I’m sure has a bright future ahead of her.

2. Patterson - Nina Ricci Du Bois Des Amazones for Treeview (Imp¬)

Another nice bitch with lovely shaped and placed eye, pleasing expression, ears were well set and she used them well.

Novice Bitch

1. Davis & Walsh - Monsolana Everspace to Rosschell (Imp Rus)

I made allowances for this young lady who appeared quite distressed which I put down to the dreadful thunder. She instantly appealed for her wonderful shape and arched neck. I liked her head properties and she had a lovely dark eye and sweet expression, well presented and moved well.

2. Patterson – Nina Ricci Du Bois Des Amazones for Treeview (Imp)

Post Graduate Bitch

1. Tame - Claudette at Rahlissa (Imp) JW

This bitch has a lovely clean head of good length with good stop, lovely dark correct shaped eye, sweet expression, nice length of back, very well presented and moved well.

2. Brookers - Gerian Sun Kisses over Corisian

Nice bitch with beautiful expression, sweet eye, ears on top and well used, nice shape and moved well, also immaculately presented.

Limit Bitch

This was a very good quality class and I’m sure any of them could change places another day..

1. Margetts - Collingvale Creme Anglaise

Good quality shaded s/w bitch who really knows how to make the most of her self.

She stood four square on a loose lead, she is a wonderful shape and has a good reach of neck, most exquisite expression, correct shaped and placed dark eye, she covered the ground well and very well turned out. I’m sure her 3rd CC won’t be far away.

2. Hawkins - Brylin Glory Days

Another good quality bitch she has good length of head with correct stop, nice eye placement and well set ears, good length of back, went well on the move and well turned out.

1. Walder - Ch Heart of Gold De Cabrenysset for Hanvale (Imp)

This young lady is absolutely stunning and every inch a worthy CH. She has well balanced head with lovely moulded foreface, correct stop, beautiful dark correct shaped and placed eye, ears are well set and she uses them well, she has the most beautiful feminine expression. Good reach of neck and lovely length of back. She moved very well and was excellently presented in super coat and condition. For me she was the complete package. BCC BOB

2. Humphrey - Brilyn’s Guilty Pleasure is Shasam

Another top quality bitch with beautiful expression, sweet eye, well placed and used ears, nice shape, went well on the move and was also presented very well. She was so unlucky to meet 1 in such top form. RBCC

Veteran Bitch

1. Margetts - Amalie Let Me Be at Collingvale

This bitch has a lovely clean head with nice eye giving sweet expression, ears right on top and she used them well. Good overall make and shape. For nearly 10 years old she still moved well. Well presented in lovely condition. BV

2. Swain – Linmac Lady Love at Lexcol

Blue merle not showing her age at all, lovely reach of neck, and well placed ears, she showed well and moved ok.
