Richmond Championship Dog Show 2018 – Day 1

Young Kennel Club Members' Stakes 1

Toy (7 Entries) Abs: 5

1st: Holman & Graham’s J Pomstyle Prada Infusion (Imp). Gorgeous for head and expression, in lovely coat. Moved beautifully. Presented in superb condition and handled really well.

2nd: Hutchin & Hutchin’s Frondil's Office Ed, CKCS. Good for body, head shape and expression. In excellent coat. OK for neck. Moved very well

Hound (4 Entries) Abs: 2

1st: Leech & Leech’s Gavelkind Conquistador By Jamchala. Great mover, excels in topline and substance. Happy and confident on the move. Keen efficient handler.

2nd: Kitchen’s Swingletrees Roses Are Red At Tarkdash. Well balanced throughout, good chest and topline. Would just prefer a touch more head length. Excellent coat and condition.

The KC AV Good Citizen Dog Scheme Stakes 1

Good Citizen (29 Entries) Abs: 10

1st: Das Purkayastha & Ravensbeech’s Romanus Among Neckrebagh, Wolfhound. Super for shape and substance, classic mover. Presented in fabulous condition.

2nd: Welbourn, Dowsett & Tyler’s Ir Ch Zumarnik Hot Pursuit Sh.CM. Maltese, one I have judged and admired on numerous occasions. Gave 100% and presented in wonderful coat and condition.

3rd: Hodge’s Colkeririn Face To The Sun JW Sh.CM

Breeders Toy (4 Entries) Abs: 2

1st: Cawthera-Purdy’s – Pomeranian. Wonderful collection; all with super heads and giving that special expression synonymous with this lovely breed. Moved harmoniously.

2nd: Urquhart’s – Papillon. All of dainty type but with sufficient substance. A collection of super heads, all with fine bone, super silky coats and full of breed type.

Breeders Hound (4 Entries) Abs: 3

1st: Reid’s – BGVP. Such a pity they stood alone. All excellent movers with typical heads and expression, superb toplines and strong powerful movers.

Terrier (9 Entries) Abs: 4

1st: Jefferies & Frontline Simply Beautiful, SCWT. Produces a beautiful outline on the stand. Complimentary front and rear angulations. Lovely coat, well handled, steady mover.

2nd: Blair & Hadley’s Cleeve Hill Kasper, PRT almost white correct shaped head, good expressive eyes and correct ear set. Correct neck, super thick loose pelt and good coat, moved well. Close Call

3rd: Busby’s Calvenace Killer Queen At Zakby

Pastoral (3 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: Jones, Gibbons & Blyton’s Mangry's Need For Speed With Wispafete Ir J Ch CJW. Australian Shepherd, Black Tri with feminine head, appealing eye. Good reach of neck. Moved with power and presented to perfection. .

2nd: Leech & Leech’s Jamchala Lady Of Shalott, Bearded Collie. OK for breed type, lovely disposition, excellent coat. Moved steadily if not a touch wide in front; well handled.

Working (6 Entries) Abs: 5

1st: Norley’s Arcticskies Bold As Brass, Siberian Husky. A really lovely puppy. Sympathetically handled. Moved beautifully. Super coat and condition.

The KC Good Citizen Dog Scheme Stakes 2

GCDS/D/B (34 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: Edington-Hall’s Wendaire Kissed By An Angel JW Sh.CM. Airedale. Judge her as a puppy and awarded high honours. Now matured into the complete package. Gorgeous head, coat and substance. Moved superbly. Won a fabulous class.

2nd: Nolcini’s Ch Broadmaynes Eclipse To Nolmacdon Sh.CM JW. Really close call. Lovely GSD which presented a lovely picture on the stand. Superbly handled in accordance with regulations. Super Bone and substance. Fabulous head and expression.

3rd: Tousent & Ingram’s Jojavik Camorra

Breeders Terrier (3 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: Gee’s - Norfolk Terrier. Absolutely super for overall type. Heads which are text book in balance and expression. Moved really well. This Group contained the eventual Terrier Group Winner. A lovely Trio.

2nd: Satherley’s – SCWT. Close up on winners. Beautiful for coat colour and breed type. Well-presented and superbly handled.

3rd: Knight - Manchester Terrier

Breeders Pastoral (2 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: Holmes’s - Pyrenean Mountain Dog. Great Group and well matched. Super for head and expression. Really impressive on the move and superbly presented coats.

2nd: Lovell’s - Welsh Corgi Cardigan. Another nice trio, Beautifully presented, moved well and upon closer inspection, consistency in breed type was definitely in evidence.

Breeders Working (2 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: Groves’s – All great for outline when standing, correct topline and of ideal substance. Super coated. All moved with good extension of forehand and powerful rear drive.

Utility (10 Entries) Abs: 6

1st: Mellor’s Nirvarna Sunset At Bellapip, German Spitz Klein, Lovely Black/W parti, well presented and looking a picture on the stack. Impressive to handle having a sturdy body under that profuse correctly textured coat. Moved well

2nd: Manners Chadbower Nevaeh Lahetti. Schipperke, Lovely make and shape. Correct wedge head, dark eyes, bite and ears. Sound movement fore and aft holding an excellent profile.

3rd: Stringer, Ford & Russell’s Incalux As You Like It With Setrique

Gundog (23 Entries) Abs: 10

1st: Walker’s Valentisimo's Tizi. Loved this SWD, super balance and construction and produces a beautiful outline Beautiful head, correct parallel planes, great coat texture and curl. Moved well.

2nd: Newson’s Miss T Tivalake Let's Misbehave, Retriever (Nova Scotia Duck Tolling) Liked the size, shape. On the move, he comes towards cleanly and has strong rear drive, would just like a touch more forehand extension. Well presented.

3rd: Adams, Adams, Scales & Fisherbloom’s Fancy That

Utility (50 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: Short’s Araki Turn Back Time At Parkmist Sh.CM, Tibetan Terrier. Square in outline. Super body, topline and tail setting. Well proportioned; balanced front and rear angulations. Beautifully presented.

2nd: Poynter’s Hernwood Thunderstorm. Gorgeous mature Gordon Setter. Really impressive on the move with excellent drive from well-constructed hindquarters. Handled to perfection. OK Tan. Noble head, good for neck. Deep chest. Well ribbed, secure topline and correct tailset.

3rd: Jones’s Hunnicote Handyman

Breeders Utility (3 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: Anderson - Lhasa Apso. Gorgeous for type; moved so gracefully. Exemplary presentation and clearly masterful handling.

2nd: Roberts - Lhasa Apso. A nice combination. Lovely movement here. Perhaps not as coordinated as winners. Good coat texture and presented.

Breeders Gundog (4 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: Challis - Hungarian Vizsla. Eye catching combination of breed type, balance and movement. Quality coat and colour.

2nd: Wakefield - Sussex Spaniel. Lots to like in this little group. Typical outlines, expressions and movement.

3rd: Gordon - Pointer
