Griffon Bruxellois

Puppy – Dog 2

1st Blore’s R/S. Alert and smart, particularly on the move. Well-shaped head, eyes well set. Ears of good size and correctly placed. Muzzle still to finish. Excellent neck, shoulders and top line. Thick set body. A very confident puppy and presented in fabulous condition.

2nd Mercer’s R/R Litter brother to the first. Excels in head qualities having a well-shaped head slightly rounded between well set ears. Super eyes. Correct lips and finish. Touch longer cast than his brother but equally a sound true mover and confident showman.

1st Finlay & Kirkwood’s Rhodon Sunday Best At Marisk. 18 months old and maturing nicely. Compact and square. Super expression from those large dark eyes, well set ears and correct finish of foreface. Super coat. Occasionally a touch careless coming towards me. Excellent rear drive. Close up on RCC. Best Junior.

2nd Suggitt’s Aptrick Time For Elevenses. Another whose head qualities score highly. Just not quite as short coupled as 1. A steady accurate mover. Maturity will be on his side.

1st Conway’s Stormjac Spocktacular Nite. This sturdy Black/R produces a really impressive profile. Super head qualities. Decidedly square with sufficient substance and bone. Coat of correct wiry texture and well presented. Impressive on the move. RCC.

2nd Whitehead & Selbys’s Zilcan Colour Me In. B/T and of an ideal size and shape. Excellent topline and tail setting. Sufficient neck. Coat was lacked lustre although of acceptable texture. Fair forehand reach; touch narrow going away. Shows well.

3rd Mackenzie & Cowie’s Grajenco Oliver

1st Guy’s Donzeata Royal Award. R/R of exceptional quality. This alert, sturdy, well boned stud of a dog produces such an outstanding silhouette. Square in outline, neck of ideal strength and length. His head illustrates that ‘human like’ expression given by correct placement of eyes, nose and lips. Clean finish to upper lip. Cobby body. High well set tail. Sound precise mover. I had recently judged him when, on that occasion, I awarded him a well-deserved Group 3 but today he had moved up a gear displaying further bearing and demeanour. CC & BOB without hesitation, and delighted to see him being awarded G3. He looked stunning!

2nd Pott’s Adreeam Black Magic, ShCM. Good for coat texture, bone and substance. Loved his well set dark eyes, rounded top skull, ears a touch untidy. Hindquarters set true. Moved well despite feeling the heat.

3rd Hartley’s Rhodon Country Casual at Hartroyal

Puppy - Bitch

1st Mackay’s Osthaen Storm in a Teacup. 10 month old R/S. Well-proportioned throughout, balanced head, super eyes, level topline and high set tail. Her overall construction aided super movement both coming and going. Gleaming coat. BPB. Her supreme confidence gained advantage over the PD to take BPIB.

Junior - Bitch

1st Suggitt’s Aptrick Liquorice Toffee. This decidedly square, feminine bitch clearly enjoyed it all! Well bodied and a great mover. Ideally, would like a little more of her. Super showgirl.

1st Mercer’s Emjaycee Country Blossom at Fennymore. Firstly it must be established that this most attractive 20 month old R/S fulfils the size requirement and contained therein is substance and bone. Appealing head of correct size and shape featuring beautiful dark round expressive eyes, excellent pigmentation. Ideal length of neck, short coupled body, with secure level back; tail set and held high. In fabulous coat. Balanced forequarters; hindquarters well assembled producing stunning movement. Delighted to award her the BCC.

2nd Mackay’s Osthaen Maleficent. Scores in respect of breed type, shape and balance. Has the most gorgeous head and expression. She produces such a beautiful outline when standing; everything is in the right place. She was however, nervous on the table due to a bad experience which will, I am sure, be a temporary thing. Apart from this I thought her quite lovely. Her movement was accurate and meaningful. Pleased to hand the smaller green card to a clearly overwhelmed owner! RCC

3rd Jern’s Cajkias Coco Chanel

Open - Bitch

1st Kirkwood’s Grajenco Miss Saigon JW ShCM. Very impressive for overall size and balance. Alert and sturdy. Square in outline with cobby body. Super head of balanced shape, gorgeous eyes, nose placement and finish. Unfortunately, coat stripped completely out almost to the skin so it was impossible to assess for the required wiry and dense textured coat a rough should possess. Smart carriage.

2nd Rose’s Rhodon Bit of a Madam. Honest and straightforward R/S. Perfect for overall balance and substance. Skull of correct size, round in shape with sufficient dome between well set ears. Sadly feeling the heat so although she moved accurately but without enthusiasm which was a pity.

3rd Mackay’s Beauview Thunder Thighs
