Class 1 VD (2 Entries) Abs: 0

These two lovely dogs gave me a good start to the day.

1st: 37 SMITH Mr G J Ch Kilbarchan Schwarz Edition At Jolakada.  Fairly small head with dark, bright sparkling eyes, decent chin and turn up.  Excellent forehand with elbows carried well in and this just gave him the edge today. Sturdy well ribbed body.  Moved out well and in typical fashion.  A 9 years of age he is not quite as black as he would have been in his youth but who am I to comment!

2nd: 34 SHEPHERD Mrs D L Fin Est Ch Lat Avantgarde Importance of Being Earnest.  Another out of the top drawer with a most attractive head, good ears, large nostrils and good turn up.  Excellent ribs and topline with well carried tail.  Moderately angulated hindquarters with good muscle tone.  Very typical profile action.

Class 3 PD (2 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 38 SMITH Mr G J Ribbleriver Sam I Am At Jolakada. Sturdily built with a good skull, slightly domed, neat ears and spakling eyes.  Pleasing forehand with good body, well ribbed with good tail set.  True and accurate both up and down.

2nd: 12 GRUNINGER Miss J Darkle Pookisnackenburger.  Very typical head and expression with good nose placement, decent chin and open nostrils. Harsh jacket.  Could be firmer in pastern. Very typical profile action.

Class 4 JD (4 Entries) Abs: 2

1st: 21 MERRETT Mr D L & Mrs J M Quentin vom Romersberger Hof at Venustus (Imp).  Very attractive head with neat, well carried ears, lively expression, excellent mouth with breadth of lower jaw and good lip line. Well ribbed for age with a short, strong topline.  Pleasing movement both up and down.

2nd: 19 MCEVOY, Mrs J & PIRRIE Mrs S Faehat Mwnci Du.  Sturdy and completely typical.  Harsh coat, neat ears and lovely eyes.  Excellent forehand, compactly built with good ribbing.  Typical profile action.

Class 5 PGD (2 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: 20 MCEVOY, Mrs J & PIRRIE Mrs S Imrun's Pikes Peak (Imp).  I could happily sign a CC for this youngster.  Has lots of quality, excellent head with breadth of underjaw and a most pleasing expression.  Sturdy and well ribbed, he moved soundly both ways and has a lively strutting action in profile.  Excellent coat.  Should finish at the top.

Class 6 LD (4 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 42 WILDIG Misses J & S Affentude Piano Man.   Really draws the eye on the move with his lively strutting action.  Good head and expression with decent chin and turn up, good dentition. Open nostrils.  Lively expression.  Sturdy and well ribbed with a compact outline and good tailset and carriage.  Shon in a good jacket and presented to best advantage.  Reserve CC.

2nd: 35 SHEPHERD Mrs D L Avantgarde Dark Materials.  Extrovert and mischievous, slightly smaller than the winner but still masculine and sturdily built.  Handsome head with good expression and decent mouth.  Excellent topline and tailset.  Sound and typical on the move.

3rd: 13 GRUNINGER Miss J Darkle's Wild Huntsman

Class 7 OD (6 Entries) Abs: 3

All three were CC quality.

1st: 3 CROSS, Miss R & Mrs D & GADSBY, Mr M & ISHERWOOD Am Ch Donnybrook's Jack Tamarin (Imp USA).  The ultimate showman but he is also a very good example of the breed in my opinion.  I really admired his head with his lovely eyes, good turn up and breadth of underjaw.  Excellent forehand; compact, well ribbed body and excellent topline and tailset.  Moderately angulated and shown in good muscle tone.  Maybe rather over presented for the purist but what a smashing dog he is.  I was delighted to see him take third place in the strong Toy Group.

2nd: 27 McEVOY Mrs J Ch Riogaioch Kaiser Bill for Balata JW.  Not quite the “joie de vivre” of the winner but he too has lots of quality.  Sturdy and well ribbed with a lovely head and mischievous expression.  Well made with good body and rib, lovely square outline and his movement was exemplary.

3rd: 28 OWEN, Miss S J & OSSOWSKI Mr M L Darkle Hawker Harrier

Class 8 VB NO ENTRIES

Class 9 MPB (5 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 6 ENGLAND Mr P & Mrs L Cichlas Blaise Affen To Vanistica TAF.  I thought she was a really good prospect, just over 8 months and sturdily made and a sensible size.  Attractive head with dark lively eyes, good ears, good breadth of underjaw and good dentition.  Well ribbed with good topline and tailset.  Smart, sound and showy on the move.  Best Puppy.

2nd: 33 SHEPHERD Mrs D L Avantgarde Lady Zuunami.  Not quite the maturity of the winner but has bags of personality, well constructed and moved very soundly.  Attractive, feminine head with neat, well carried ears and good eyes.

3rd: 43 WILDIG Misses J & S Affentude Killer Queen

Class 10 PB (2 Entries) Abs: 0

2nd: 26 MITCHARD Miss C Veggfjellets Black Pearl At Wizabeanie.  Not quite the cockiness of the winner but she too is a top class example of the breed.  Really well put together with a compact outline and good ribbing.  Moves extremely well and has a pleasing head and expression.  Harsh jacket.
