I enjoyed judging the breed again, as expected temperaments were delightful.  Dentition still leaves a lot to be desired and one or two are rather “Pommy” in appearance.  On the plus side, there was lots of good hind action and all of the dogs were clean and in good condition.  Thank you all for your good sportsmanship.  My two excellent stewards kept the ring moving at a good pace and we finished in a timely fashion.

Veteran - Dog  Entries: 1 Absentees: 0    1st  SELAWS DREAM CLIMBER (MRS B SWALES).  A real credit to his owner as at 10 years of age he is in marvellous condition.  Good skull, well set ears, largish clean dark eyes.  Decent dentition.  Well ribbed with good body.  Gay, sound and saucy on the move.         Minor Puppy - Dog  Entries: 9 Absentees: 0    1st  BRAMERITA HUNKY DORY (MISSES F & N HORNBY).  Hard to believe that this was his first show as he was so composed and confident.  Large, well set ears, good dentition, deep brisket for age.  Lovely topline and tailset.  Moved out really well using his good quarters to advantage.  Best Dog Puppy.   2nd  RIDGEHAWK SAMSON (MRS S J LEE).  Not quite as advanced as the winner but he too is lovely.  Good head, definite stop, well set ears, dark intelligent eye.  Very good dentition. Good forehand, well bodied, sound and free moving.      3rd  REYNOLDCO SWEET WILLIAM (MR & MRS C CRAGGS)       Puppy - Dog  Entries: 8 Absentees: 4    1st  OOZORA MASTER OF DREAMS (MR D R & MRS Y M OLIVE).  Presents a most attractive overall picture with his good showmanship and pleasing coat.  Attractive head and expression, well ribbed with decent depth of brisket.  Runs up a fraction in topline but makes the most of himself on the move with his sound, strong hindquarters.     2nd  DOOBYAVE HEIGHTERS HUSH (MRS & MRS WEST & ROGERS). Very pretty and dainty, lovely expressive eye, good muzzle.  Sound and happy on the move but not quite as well developed as yet in rib and body as the winner.  He has plenty of time on his side.   3rd  NATIMUK LUKAS (DR G G CURR)      Junior - Dog  Entries: 7 Absentees: 1    1st  FLICKAN FORTITUDE (MRS P A JONES).  Dainty, swift moving and compact, very happy and confident.  Good skull and ears.  Well bodied with good topline high set, well carried tail.  In excellent condition and sound both up and down.     2nd  ELLOCHI CRAZY NIGHTS FOR PAPPERSLEY (MISS R J BERRINGTON).  Most attractive head with a large, dark expressive eye.  Decent ears.  Good forehand.  Good spring of rib, level back and moved soundly.    3rd  ZOYA'S KINGDOM FIFTH ELENENT AT STANGHURST (IMP RUS) (MRS S J STANGOE)       Yearling - Dog  Entries: 6 Absentees: 1    1st  BONNI LASI IRS (IMP KAZ) NAF ( MRS Z CHALMERS).  Quite an eyecatcher as he is showy and spirited.  Good skull, lovely eyes, sturdy, well ribbed body with short loin.  Nicely arched neck and really makes the most of himself on the move.    2nd  JAARMOEL THAT'LL DO NICELY JW (MR J, MRS C & MRS S WILSON).  Beautifully balanced and very typey.  Soundly made and pleasing to handle with his good rib and topline. Pretty head and expression.  Could be a little firmer in pastern. Moved well with a sound, swift action.      3rd  ISMIRELLE'S THE MAD HATTER AT HERMOSOANGEL (MISS B M NEWBERY)       Post Graduate - Dog  Entries: 6 Absentees: 0    1st  BERMAC BLAZING GLORY JW (MS A MCALLISTER).  Handles well and shown in first class condition.  Good dentition, well set ears, good forehand with nicely arched neck.  Good body and rib.  Typical, brisk sound action.     2nd  KUSHIRA FLAME ON THE ICEBERG (MR C JONES).  Lovely type and balance, very good head and expression, could be a tad firmer in pastern.  Attractive profile action.  Excellent condition.      3rd  DOOBYAVE CHILIN LYKA VILAIN (MRS & MRS WEST & ROGERS)      Limit – Dog  A good class.  Entries: 10 Absentees: 1    1st  LEMARITZ SOUL SURVIVOR SHCM (MRS L M EVANS).  Small and dainty yet masculine, lovely eye, good muzzle.  Good forehand with some depth of brisket and well ribbed body with firm topline.  Typical on the move with a brisk forceful action.  Shown in first class condition.   2nd  AMARANTOS TOBIN (MRS L HUMPHREYS).  He does have the move lovely head and expression with large, well set ears and very dark, good sized eyes.  Excellent forehand, good topline and tailset.  Not quite the finish of the winner as yet but should easily finish at the top.      3rd  FLICKAN FASTNET (MRS P A JONES)      Open - Dog  Another very good class.  Entries: 8 Absentees: 2    1st  TIDOS CHARLIE HE'S MY DARLING AT KIRLASIDH JW (MR J & MISS E SANGSTER).  CC & BOB.  My reserve CC winner in 2015 and I was delighted to give him the CC today which I learned afterwards gave him his title – congratulations!  So typical and a lovely character and showman.  Super head and expression with large, well set ears, good mouth.  Excellent forehand.  Depp well ribbed body and high set and correctly carried tail.  Swift moving with a good driving action and he was presented to best advantage.     2nd  CH BRAMERITA MR HOLMES (MRS S, MR K & MRS D HORNBY & BIRD).  Another top class Chihuahua with all of the essentials.  Lovely skull, good ears which are large and well set.  Very pleasing to handle with his good body and rib.  True and sound on the move with a very typical action.  In the challenge for the reserve CC, his excellent tail carriage which has just a little lift to it gave hm the advantage.  Res. CC.    3rd  CH PENAPETTIT PLATINUM (MR W E & MS J HEAP & PALMER)      Special Beginners - Dog  Entries: 3 Absentees: 0    1st  DOOBYAVE CHILIN LYKA VILAIN (MRS & MRS WEST & ROGERS).  Presents a lovely outline as he holds himself well and is pleasing for both balance and type.  Dark, expressive eye of good size, Good pigmentation.  Well set ears.  Moved soundly both ways.      2nd  DOOBYAVE HEIGHTERS HUSH (MRS & MRS WEST & ROGERS)  See Puppy Dog class.  3rd  MARNEY JAY TINY TIMOTHY (A SKINNER)       Special Beginners - Bitch  Entries: 2 Absentees: 0    1st  SALSERO SALLY OF ALSPRUCE (MRS S R SANDERSON).  Best Special Beginner.  Very typical with a pretty head and expression, good eyes.  Slight arch to neck, well laid shoulders, good topline and tailset.  A shade untidy coming back to me but good hind action and presents a very pleasing outline on the move.     2nd  WYNNDAX TEQUI SUNRISE (MRS G HANNAY).  Pretty head, large well set ears.  Well ribbed body with level back and well set tail.       Veteran - Bitch  Entries: 2 Absentees: 0    2 lovely bitches.  1st  CH NATIMUK ASTRID (DR G G CURR).  A really good moving bitch with a swift, forceful action.  Good ear, large expressive eyes, good mouth.  Well ribbed and she showed off her charms to best advantage.       2nd  CH MAIRICHIS BLOSSOM JW (MISS M M AUSTIN).  Another I have admired before and she too is shown in lovely bloom and condition.  Really attractive head with large, well placed ears, and clear dark eyes.  Very satisfying to handle on the table as she is well made and sound and this was reflected in her very good movement.         Minor Puppy - Bitch  Entries: 7 Absentees: 3    1st  BRATILDA URBAN ANGEL (MRS L & MR N TODD-MCCOID).  Feminine, dainty and compact, pleasing head, good ears.  Good forehand with some depth of brisket.  Well bodied for age.  Moved out well with some style.     2nd  RIDGEHAWK STRIP TEASE (MR & MRS K CALVERT).  Lovely type and a most pleasing head and expression, firm well ribbed body, good topline and tailset.  Moved soundly but needs a little more confidence to complete the picture.    3rd  GARNOX AE FOND KISS (MRS E & MR W M LYNCH)      Puppy - Bitch  Entries: 7 Absentees: 1    1st  KIRLASIDH TASTE OF HONEY (MR J & MISS E SANGSTER).  A lovely puppy very like her sire the CC winner.  Small and dainty with a most attractive head and expression.  Nicely arched neck, good forehand, well balanced with a good body for age.  Straight back and high set tail.   Mved well with a very typical action and shows to good advantage.  Best Puppy.     2nd  RIDGEHAWK TREASURE GIRL (MRS A L RADFORD).  Close up and she too is a really good prospect.  Good skull, large expressive eyes, well set ears.  Firm, well ribbed body with good topline and tailset.  Sound and stylish on the move.     3rd  GARNOX PICTURE THIS (MRS E & MR W M LYNCH)      Junior - Bitch  Entries: 8 Absentees: 1    1st  MONA LISA OT VANILNOY LUNT AT STANGHURST (IMP) (MRS S J STANGOE).  A really well constructed bitch, excellent mouth and dentition, large flared ears and dark expressive eyes.  Well ribbed, strong well angulated hindquarters.  Moved soundly.  She would be an asset to any serious fancier.       2nd  TIDOS NEW FLAME AT GARNOX (MRS E & MR W M LYNCH).  Dainty and very pretty with a pleasing head, good topline and tailset.  Moved out well with some drive from the rear but just a little untidy coming back to me.      3rd  CHIHGRA PEARLY BUTTON (MRS S & MR P GRAHAM)      Yearling - Bitch  Entries: 3 Absentees: 0    1st  AHAU CASA GRANDE MOON MAGIC (C R EDWARDS).  Very pretty head and expression, good dentition, typical and well balanced.  Strong driving rear action and looks very smart in profile.    2nd  POCOPERRO LEILA (MRS P & MISS R LODWICK).  Feminine and she has a good head with well set ears, expressive eye, good mouth and dentition.  Well ribbed and moved soundly.     3rd  LYKATH'S TIFFIN (MRS K R & MR J D CULVERHOUSE)       Post Graduate - Bitch  Entries: 11 Absentees: 0    1st  REYNOLDCO SWEET DREAMS JW (MR & MRS C CRAGGS).  A good quality, pretty, dainty and compactly made bitch.  Large well set ears, good skull.  Nicely arched, moderate neck, good body.   Very swift moving with a typical sound action. Shows to best advantage.  Reserve CC.      2nd  LOROSO BERNADETTE (MRS MORLEY).  I admired her head and expression, good dentition, pleasing forehand with straight legs and well laid shoulders. Good body with level topline.  Moved well.     3rd  HERMOSOANGEL SHINE FOR ME (MISS B M NEWBERY)      Limit - Bitch  Entries: 11 Absentees: 2    1st  LADY COPPELIA JW ( MRS L TYSON).  Very attractive head, generous rounded skull, large well set ears and dark expressive eyes.  Handles well on the table with a firm body and good spring of rib.  Moved briskly and absolutely true both coming and going.  Shows to great advantage  2nd  NATIMUK CARLA (DR G G CURR).  Good quality and type.  Large, flared ears, dark expressive eyes.  Good dentition.  Excellent topline and high set tail.  Moved out well – soundly and with some style.    3rd  KURUKULLA WILD AND UNTAMED (MS S GRIGGS)       Open - Bitch  Entries: 6 Absentees: 0    1st  CH DONAMI LIMELIGHT (MR S J ROONEY).  Very eye-catching and really fits the standard, smart and dainty with a very lively personality.  Attractive head with a lovely expression, good straight legs, deep brisket.  Well ribbed with excellent topline and tailset.  On the move she is absolutely true and her fluid swift action is exemplary.  CC.       2nd  BARALICIA HALF PENNY JW (MRS S T BARKER).  A really good headed bitch with great ears, excellent forehand, sound well ribbed body.  Moved soundly but lacked the animation and style of the winner.        3rd  LYKATH'S MYSTIC MOONFLOWER JW (MRS K R & MR J D CULVERHOUSE)    Judge: Tom Mather
