West Of England Ladies Kennel Society

Thank you to the Committee for the invitation to award my fist set of CC’s in this breed and to the exhibitors for their entries. The environment and conditions were a little challenging due to the poor weather but well done to the dogs and the handlers for managing the situation.

I thoroughly enjoyed the appointment and found it extremely interesting.  Overall I found the quality of bitches better than dogs. Presentation was very good. My two watch outs would be; firstly heads, I was disappointed in the number of heads that lacked length to the muzzle and weak underjaws. Secondly the first word in our Breed Standard is Sturdy and I found especially in some of the youngsters they were lacking in this. I would have liked more bone and body in some.

An honest black and white male who personally I think has been hard done by. Nothing over done in anyway. Stands naturally and just does not stand wrong which is confirmation of his correct construction, filling the eye with his square shape. To go over he is sturdy throughout. Appealing masculine head but not overdone, with correct stop and eye. Good depth of muzzle. Moved well.

2nd     KYBO IN CAHOOTS WITH AONACHMOR SHCM (MS J TONGE)

An appealing gold male, larger in size than 1. For me not the strength in head and body throughout of 1st. Lots to like about him and a real credit to his owner for his tip top condition, in great coat and lovely to see him enjoying himself in the ring.

A real confdient, stylish black and white puppy full of fun and attitude. Put a smile on my face. Pleasing overall square shape.  Loved his head with dark eye and lovely expression. Well placed shoulders. Good body with deep chest. Straight front. Lovely spring of rib.   Well bent stifles, just needs to strengthen behind on the move but this will come as he matures.

A lovely black and white puppy of good size. Attarctive markings. Slighter longer in body to 1st. Very well handled to get the very best out of him. Showed with confidence and moved with reach and drive. Lovely head. Good bone, stength and substance throughout.

An appealing shape to this black male, for me just needs to come up on leg. Still only a baby but has lots of potential. Good head shape with dark eye. Compact, strong body with good spring of rib. Level top line. Lovely bend of stifle into short hocks. Moved soundly. In excellent coat condition.

Eye catching black and white in the line-up. Stands freely and presents a pleasing overall square shape. Super personality on him, loving his time in the ring which is great to see. Well-constructed but would just like more substance to him throughout.

 I found this class quite challenging in terms of differences in type, size and shape.

1st     MYRLEA UNDER THE SPELL (MS G & MR P MARLEY & THIRLWELL)

In fantastic coat and condition. Pleasing overall shape on this black. Would prefer a little more length of leg. Appealing head and expression. Moved well, holding head and top line well, using both front and rear. Correct bend of stifle into short hocks. Presented in excellent coat.

2nd     HURRICANE CHESTER MANDALA-DELAMA AT DOLKAR (IMP) (MR P & MISS D WILLIAMS & TERRY)

Appealing gold and white. Larger in frame and slightly longer in back so not quite the square frame of one. A lovely head with good stop and length and depth of muzzle, good pigmentation.  In good body. Presented in great condition. Covered the ground well.

Lovely square shape on this Tri on the stand and then loved him on the move, moved with style and purpose. Presented in excellent condition.  Pleasing head and eye. Lovely length of neck into well assembled front. Good bone.  Excellent rear angulation which he used well on the move.

Nice shape to this black.  Masculine head with strong muzzle and jaw. Correct length of neck into pleasing front assembly. Good spring of rib. Well-muscled in the rear which gave him the power to move.

Lovely head on this black and white. Profuse coat which made him look unbalanced on the floor. However to go over he is well put together.  Of good size and square shape. Not exaggerated in anyway. Would just prefer a bit more length of neck for balance. Moved OK.

Gold & White male who I liked on the stand but really appreciated his qualities and confirmation when I went over him. He pleasantly surprised me. He has a big coat which can deceive the eye. Sturdy throughout, compact body. Beautiful head, with strong jaw, dark eye and black nose. Well-muscled and moved with reach and drive.

A square pleasing shape on this black. Not the head proportions or strength of head to 1st.  However lots to like. Straight front and in good body. Held his top line well on the move.

Really like this black and white male. Of correct size. Nothing over done in him in any way, a real honest dog. Appealed to me in the line-up and then beautiful to go over from nose to tail. Everything in the right place. Sturdy, square, strong and compact throughout. In excellent muscular condition.  Lovely proportioned head and expression. Put together well. Moved really well with that hint of look at me attitude which I love. Will watch this males show career with interest as think he will be knocking on the door for top honours soon.

2nd     BOSHANTI NEVILL (MRS K GUZIOLEK)

A larger framed gold sable. However another that I appreciated as I went over him. Well-constructed with good bone and substance throughout.  Masculine head with a good eye and expression.  Good depth of chest and well ribbed back. Moved effortlessly with purpose.

A real class act! I absolutely loved this gold and white male. Today was his day, no denying that. He was on top form; outstanding performance and in first class condition. Such a privilege to have the opportunity to judge him. This dog excites me on the stand but for me really has that wow factor when he moves, he just ticks all the boxes and you can see his shape and confirmation in full flow. The most exquisite of heads and expression, one of the best I have seen.  Correct length of strong neck into excellent shoulder placement and angulation. Well ribbed. Strong well angulated hindquarters. Moved with such purpose and drive, holding his head and commanding attention. His handler allowing him to lead the way. Delighted to award him the CC & BOB and he topped the day by winning Group 2.

2nd     CH BARNSTORM WATERLEY UNITED BY DZINE (MR G DAVIES)

Full of quality and well worthy of his title. Lots to like about this black and white male. Beautifully presented and handled. Liked his head proportions and expression. Of correct shape and nicely balanced. Straight front, level top line and nicely angulated stifles which gives him that drive on the move from the rear.  Moves with real style. For me just preferred the overall strength throughout of 1st. Res CC.

A feminine back and white of lovely shape. Lost her confidence on the table but she got over it and I know only too well how TT’s can be somewhat sensitive to things going on around them. The handler persevered and overcome the situation. Don’t give up on her as there is a lot to like about her. Feminine head with good stop and lovely expression. Good top line and bend of stifle which she used on the move.

Moved with style, purpose and a little hint of naughtiness.

Another lovely puppy with lots of promise.  Most appealing in head with a good stop and strong muzzle without being coarse.  Well balanced overall presenting a lovely picture. Very well put together. Correct front and rear assembly which enabled her to move extremely well.

As soon as this puppy came into the ring she reminded me of one of my own with her presence and that over thinking attitude. The handler did an excellent job in being patient with her to get the very best out of her. Attractive markings and lovely overall shape. A very appealing head, with good length of muzzle and depth. A typical TT expression which appealed to me with dark eye. Good length and strength of neck and excellent front assembly, compact body, correct top line, held well on the move. Good bend of stifle. So much to like about this puppy that I was delighted to award her Best Puppy and will watch her as she grows up with great interest.

A very stylish black and white who is super feminine. Handled to get the very best out of her on the stand to present a clean square outline and on the move she just flowed, covering the ground, holding her head and top line. Just not in her best dress today but this will come.

This black and white really appealed to me on the stand and to go over. Was keen to see her pedigree as really liked her type.  A sturdy girl who is really pleasing to go over, so well put together. Good bone, depth of chest and good spring of rib. Very attractive head piece. Just needed more enthusiasm and animation on the move but really do hope we see more of her, will keep a look out.

Now she got my attention as she came into the ring. This gold and white walked in with that ‘TT air’ about her that says hey look at me.  This along with expert handling and super confirmation is what makes a good show dog a great show dog. You can see her qualities from the stand and then to go over her she fulfils your expectation. Ultra-feminine but with the sturdiness one would want. The most gorgeous of heads, one of the best for me, with correct proportions, stop, length and depth of muzzle. Lovely eye and super pigmentation. Well-made throughout. Moved superbly with real purpose. No hesitation in awarding her the CC.

A quality black and white bitch who is well balanced. Super shape. Pleasing head with good stop and muzzle. Correct length and strength of neck into well placed shoulders. Well bodied, level top line and good bend of stifle. Very sound on the move, a real pleasure to watch her.

A top quality class.

Another with great show presence from the moment she enters the ring. A really beautiful outline on the stand, in excellent coat and condition. A quality feminine head with good stop and eye. Lovely length of neck into well-constructed front assembly. Her outline is spot on. Well ribbed into correct bend of stifle. Moved effortlessly, head and top line held well. I am sure she will be tipping the top spots very soon.

My eye kept coming back to this bitch.  Eye catching overall shape on the stand. Lovely go over. Sturdy throughout with good bone and well placed ribs and depth. After the shortlist won over the 3rd on her true, honest, soundness. Moves so well, covering the ground with such ease both in the front and rear. Very well handled to get the very best out of her.

Stood out in this class for me. Feminine black and white but sturdy just as they should be. Well balanced and put together to go over. Lovely head and expression. Strong moderate length of neck. Compact body. Well-constructed rear angulation, well-muscled which all comes together when she moves, with reach and rive. A real stylish bitch in excellent coat and condition who thoroughly deserved the Res CC.

Nothing overdone about this bitch. Presents a lovely clean square outline on the stand. A good head piece with appealing eye and expression and good length of muzzle and strength. Moderate length of neck into well placed shoulders. Straight front. Good depth of body and nicely ribbed back. Level top line. Well-muscled hindquarters which she used to drive from the rear.
