2nd 5068. JUN CH LARGE PAW ROMA DEL MASTINI

An impressive grey 2 years old dog that pushed the class winner and I liked him in completely different ways, a very massively set dog of correct height and proportions, not as long as dog 1 but equally impressive in his own areas, beautiful massive head with more pronounced wrinkles and very heavy bone, all head ratios and dimensions are very pleasing to the mastino enthusiast correct bite and huge nose, ear correctly set, good well pronounced stop, wide muzzle and deep inverted V of lips, strong neck and correct dewlap chest deep, strong shoulders and well sprung ribs, nice straight front legs and good topline and bottom line and croup, strong rear end and moved and showed very well, lovely condition of coat.

Another quality dog and 7 ½ years old, Black brindle Male, head correct, strong muzzle and teeth bite correct, good correct eyes and pleasing expression, strong neck correct dewlap and deep V lips, correct amount of bone for the breed.

Correct length to height of body and moved and showed very well, good angulation and drive strong back end, deep chest and correct tail, lovely coat condition

Unfortunately there was not a Veteran class for him to enter and I and his owner where told that he could not be awarded best veteran on the day as there was no classes on for veteran a real shame, as he of course would have been a great representative of our breed in the veterans group.

For me: Best Veteran

I must say it was a pleasure to judge this breed that I have owned, bred and showed myself for over 30 years, the specimens presented where all an absolute credit to their owners and breeders and it is clear to see how far the breed has and is still improving in health and longevity whilst retaining correct breed type.

Thank you for asking me to judge them and it would be nice to see more dogs at the shows again in the near future.
