Wales and West of England Pug Dog Club 10/6/18 My thanks to the Committee of the Wales and West of England Pug Dog Club for inviting to judge at their well-organized show and for the warm hospitality they showed me. Thanks also to the exhibitors for the opportunity to “go over” their lovely dogs. It nice to see the exhibits cope so admirably in the bright, hot conditions right to the end, when my co-judge Mrs J Clark and I were “painlessly” coming to joint decisions for the final awards. Bitches Veteran Bitch 1 Linnett’s Conquell Caughtyalooking F 10 years old Pleasing overall outline with good size to rib cage, strong topline and high set tail. Good size to head and eye, nice pigment and width of underjaw. Kept a good profile on the move and quite firm going and coming. BV Bitch BVIS 2 Du Mon’s Mylforbe Hester at Spellwgate 8 years old F Very nice type with big nose pad, neat ears and lovely eye and expression, square outline with strong neck and good width of body. Moved well in profile but not the hind action of 1st. 3Cannon & Burroughs Marbelton Ice Cream at Flashnik . Minor Puppy 1 Hayes Howenvals ChantillyLace F Lovely expression with good size to head and eye , nice width to fore-face, good pigment and pleasing eyes. Good square outline with strong neck and topline , high set tight tail , good bone and nice width throughout . Moved well coming and going with excellent balance in profile. 2 Dover’s Say Hello Lexielou at Justenuf F Lovely baby with good size to head and eye nice width to underjaw and neat ears. Nice forequarters, level topline , high set tail and big body. Moved well but not matching the style of 1st in profile. 3 Ashtons RosewitchAnother Excuse TAF Puppy 1 Farnworths Briddish Massachusetts F Impressive baby with nice round eye, neat ears good nose pad and width of fore-face. Pleasing strength to crested neck, strong topline and high set tight tail, nice width to rib and loin and in good firm condition. Excellent profile on the move and true coming and going. 2 Cannon and Burroughs Roxmarr Heart of Glass At Flashnik F Another very nice puppy. Good size to head with lovely round expressive eyes, good underjaw and pigment. Broad body and short back giving her a pleasing squareness . Moved very well in profile and came towards well whilst not as strong as 1st going away. 3 Edwards Tussilago’s Sea Fury Spec. Puppy Black 1 Lee,s Tsuselena Black Lace B Square outline with nice head and under jaw and good size to eye. Strong neck, and nice width to rib firm condition and gleaming coat. Moved nicely in profile. 2 Stuart & Wards Snuglepug Black Neesha B Nice puppy with good nose pad and eye and expression. Nice width to body but not the squareness of 1st. Moved better than 1st coming and going but not her reach in profile. Spec. Puppy Fawn 1 McFarlane’s Empugrium Sparkling Ember F Very impressive and mature puppy. Big rib cage , strong loin and short back giving her a square cobby outline with high set tail. Good size to round head and eye, good width of underjaw and nose pad, nice pigment and wrinkle. Moved very well coming and going with stylish carriage and good reach and drive in profile. Moved well coming and going and kept her shape in profile. 2 Phelps-Terrett”s Bilohka Bang Tidy Quality bitch. Very pleasing head and pigment nice size to round eye, good width to under jaw and nice neck for proud carriage. Well ribbed and short compact build with very square outline. Moved with good profile going round but not quite as strong as 1st going away. 3 Murphy’s Popinjay Ruby Tuesday Maiden 1 Linnett’s Conquell Dare to Dream F Compact bitch with good rib and loin and high set tail and nice strength to neck. Good size to eye and large nose pad and neat ears. Moved quite well coming and going and with good profile going round. 2 Blacobby Rose Noir Coulters B Good size to head and eye and neat in ear. Big rib cage and broad loins with high set tail and strong neck, but not as square overall as 1st. Moved with a balanced profile. 3 Whitmore-Davies Kymclara American Pie at Brynrevel Novice 1 Farnworths Briddish Massachusetts F 2 Taberer & Ajao’s Sicorn Princess LucyLocket F Compact and square overall with high set tail, level topline and nice rib cage. Nice eye, neat ears and good width to under jaw but not the expression of 1st. Moved with nice style going round and quite well coming and going. Graduate 1 Saffer’s Biohka GI Baby at Ragemma JW F Strongly made with good rib and loin, level topline and pleasing neck, tail and outline. Expressive eyes with good nose pad, fore face, and neat ears. Moved with good reach and drive, pleasing profile and came towards well 2 Mcaleny’s Macmoore Jesamine JW Lovely expressive eye and good pigment and nose pad but I preferred the neater wrinkle and overall expression of 1st. Short and cobby with nice width to rib and loin and high set tight tail . Moved quite well coming and going and balanced profile going round. 3 Whitmore-Davies Brynrevel Jinjing Post Grad 1 Watson’s Madjax Quintessential at Tybec F Good size to round head, expressive eyes, neat ears and good width to fore-face .Powerful square build with good rib and loin, high tail set and strong neck . Moved well and showed good reach and drive. In good coat 2 Rutherfords’s Yorlanders it’s Zeva at Potbelli F Not in as good coat as Ist and this detracted a little in outline. Lovely head ,eye and expression with good pigment .Strong build with good rib and loin and high set tail. Moved well in front and in profile. 3 Makepeace’s Sandigara Sugar and Spice Limit 1 Saffers Boynhams Vanilla Latte Ragemma F Square with good neck and carriage, good width of rib and loin, level topline and high set tight tail. Nice round head and eye, neat ears and good width to fore-face. Moved very well in profile and coming and ok going away. 2. Kirks Hattella Orange Blossom F Lovely head and expression with good nose pad and pigment, round eye and neat ears. Big rib cage and strong loin, and nice twist. Moved quite well coming and going and balanced in profile but not the reach and drive of 1st. 3. Phelps-Terrett Bilohka Llittle Spitfire Open 1 Bailey’s Hattella Tulip at Lampugs JW Round head with good size nose pad, good width of fore-face, pleasing wrinkle and expressive round eye. Strong neck, nice width to rib and loin and high set tight tail. Moved well coming and going and kept her shape well going round. 2 Edwards Rodenash Livin A Dream F Square bitch with round head and neat ears, expressive eye and good pigment but not as neat in wrinkle as 1st. Good topline and tail set . Moved well in profile and quite well coming and going. 3 Lee’s Glenalua I’m Meryl Tuckenhay (IKC) Spec. Open Black. 1 Coulters Blacobby Enid Nightshade. Good square shape, strong neck and high set tail. Nice wrinkle and expressive eye with neat ears. Moved quite well in profile when she got going. 2 Povall’s Witherford Twice as Nice Nice type with pleasing wrinkle, under jaw and nose pad. Moved quite well in profile. A little longer cast than 1st. 3 Pritchards Snugglepug Black Milano at Violetta Best Black Bitch Rutherfords Snugglepug Anzu at Potbelli from Junior bitch class. Good square outline and strongly made with nice rib and loin, and good neck and high set tight tail. Moved well with a balanced profile and proud carriage. Spec Open Fawn 1Attwoods Ch Rodenash Dream Chaser of Taftazini JW Lovely head and expression, with round eyes, good width to fore-face, large nose pad and neat ears. Strongly made with good fore and hind quarters, short back and nice width to rib and loin, high set tight tail and crested neck giving proud carriage. Moved very well coming and going, well balanced and stylish in profile. BCC Res BIS 2 Kirks Hattella Bluebell Lovely head and eye, with good nose pad and pigment. Short backed ,square and very compact with good width to rib and loin.
