Great Danes

Judge Sandy Lipman (Lisvane)

Thank you to the W.E.L.K.S. committee for giving me the opportunity to go over such a quality selection of Great Danes today. I saw only a couple of incorrect mouths, one or two loose eyes on youngsters with heads still to develop, and generally an improvement in all over conformation. Temperaments were super, on the whole, 3 being a little shy but still managing to go over them, with a little patience. Some lovely youngsters coming up which will secure our future generations. My DCC & BCC complimented each other so well, being the epitome of masculinity and femininity, the bitch BOB and going on to gain Group 4

Entries: 4 Absentees: 1 1.Sneddon & Booths CULSEANDANES HOUSE OF TULLY Very rarely does a dane come so close to the breed standard, and be able to perform at her best, at the right time. This youngster, in a rich fawn gleaming coat which accentuated her firm musculature, exuded strength, elegance and yet retained distinct femininity. A dark mask, correct dentition with neat drop of lip, almond shaped dark eyes, alert use of ears producing a beautiful head, carried high on her showy crested neck. The best front and rear assembly supported by good boned legs and very tight feet. At just 18 months old, and flowing throughout from her sprung ribs to her strong hindquarters and good tail set, she couldn’t be denied the BCC. BOB and later in the day WG4. 2. Middletons TAYSCA MUST DE CARTIER Nicely made black having dark eyes, kind expression, good headplanes and drop of lip. Yearling - Bitch

Entries: 7 Absentees: 1 1. Pococks TAMZDANE CAKE MY DAY Well marked harlequin having a clean elegant neck and forechest and black patches spread evenly over her body. A little short in foreface and would prefer a squarer drop of lip and better front assembly, but held her head high and kept her topline as she moved soundly around the ring. 2. Middletons TAYSCA MUST DE CARTIER 2nd in previous class. 3. Morgan-Evans VANMORE DREAM ON

Entries: 9 Absentees: 5 1. Tempests ADOREADANE JUST THE TICKET JW Everything to like about this beautifully marked and presented harlequin girl. Clean white scissor bite, broad muzzle good stop and expression and well used ears. Long elegant neck with no wrinkling over the withers and a lovely topline. Could have a fraction more front angulation but, straight front legs, tight feet, deep brisket and adequate turn of stifle, produced a balanced pleasing outline and extended movement. 2. Morgans SAMDICE IN YOUR HONOR (AI) Sweet fawn bitch that I judged BPIB at her very first show. She has the most expressive head with the blackest eyes and darkest mask, dark neat ears, correct mouth and square drop of lip. Holds her head very upright causing wrinkling on her withers but otherwise presents a compact outline. Keeps her topline well on the move. 3. Mortons LINSDOWN IDAHO
