I would like to thank the officers and committee of  Paignton Championship show for their hospitality and for giving me the opportunity to judge the Toy Group at their show and to all the breed judges who sent forward excellent breed types for the Toy group

The toy group consisted of 21 breeds and the shortlist consisted of Bichon, Pomeranian , Japanese Chin, Chinese Crested , Pug , Papillion, Affenpinscher,, Griffon Bruxellois, Cotton De Tulear, eventual winners were as listed below;

BEST : 5067 CHILTON, Mrs E & DAVEY Mrs N Sixth Sense Hankey Bannister By Klassna (Imp) POMERANIAN Dog Very alert , compact ,short coupled  with intelligent expression very nice honest dog, well proportioned muzzle with good strong jaw, with medium size slightly oval eyes, relatively small erect ears ,straight fine boned forequarters, correct ribcage, wealth of  coat with correct texture. High set tail  Moves out well with a light pleasing action and her good textured coat is presented to advantage also a privilege to judge him and award him the toy group

RESERVE : 4416 HAVELIN & BELSTAD Regina Bichon Talk Show TAF BICHON FRISE Dog . Lovely temperament and presented in sparkling condition  Quality male ideal size with good confirmation, sweet expression, lovely dark eyes surrounded with dark haloes. Clean  dentition, neck in proportion to body , correct forequarters, well sprung ribs with broad loin and well bent stifles, well rounded and broad thighs ,good pigmentation, coat of correct texture and type, nice balanced movement

3rd : 4900 SCHEMEL Dr A Sharlarna's Mirage JAPANESE CHIN Dog Lovely size correct cobby body , beautiful head and skull and a muzzle of good width and correct cushioning , very good  pigmentation , dark round eyes with just the right amount of white showing, ,black nose with wide open nostrils, straight front with the correct hare like feet  excellent texture coat , with level topline and correct tail set and carriage, hind quarters firm and well muscled. Very sound movement.

4th : 4734 CROW Mrs D Let Me Be The One Of Angel's Legacy At Casacavallo CHINESE CRESTED  Dog Lovely refined exhibit slate blue softest of skin with enough crest to set off the picture standing and moving, dark eyes giving lovely expression. correct head and skull nice dark almond shape eye , good clean correct dentition shoulders well laid back moderate tuck up correct hare footed , correct tail set and carriage with level top line Sound and moved out well.
