Judge Mark Phillips

I would like to thank the West of England BTC committee for inviting me to judge their championship show & for the smooth organised running of the show. I would also like to thank all the exhibitors for giving me such a good entry in number and in quality, which made for some very difficult and close decisions. In particular my Open Dog & Bitch classes were excellent for depth of quality and fantastic to have such choice.

Special Beginners Dog (1 entry)

1:  Martin & Vanstone’s Diton Dixieland with Pusissance. Sound compact balanced white dog with blk ears. Good fill and nice turn to head with no exaggeration. Good eye & mouth. Moved with drive from behind , closer in front. Ears could do with being stronger.

Puppy Dog (2 entries)

1: Godsall’s Neverland Devils Own. Striking upstanding red & white puppy dog. Lovely lines when standing. Well turned head with good fill and excellent expression. Mouth fault.Lovely front with neat feet. Covered the ground freely on the move. Super showman. With maturity one to watch. Best Puppy.

2: Dweck & Swan’s Neverland The Devil To Pay. Masculine white dog, not as mature as his brother. Strong well filed head with expression. Mouth fault. Good bone and neat feet. Moved well behind and covered the ground.

Junior Dog (7 entries,1 absent)

1: Lamonby’s Emred Dikram Devils Brew. Quality terrier type white dog with ear markings. Head filled and turned without exaggeration. Wicked eye and good mouth. Cobby and compact in body with lovely turn of stifle. Moved true and with drive, just needs time to settle and mature.

2: Martin & Vanstone’s Diton Dixieland with Pusissance.

3: Mc Pherson’s Beskermengel Golden Sirius

Novice Dog (1 entry)

1: Marles’ Sandi Bullies Divine Architect Buildon. Elegant white dog with ear patch. Turned head, lacking a little fill & profile but with good expression. Mouth off. Lovely reach of neck and good turn of stifle. Could be tighter throughout. Moved better going than coming.

Post Graduate Dog (4 entries)

1: Foster’s Bilboen Great Dragon’s Spy. Typy compact brindle and white dog. Lovely turned head with excellent fill and well placed ears. Good mouth. Well made & balanced throughout with neat feet. Moved with drive from behind. Super showman and difficult to fault, I would just prefer a little more of him.

2: Smalley’s Vetsbullies Jesus of Briden. Powerful masculine black brindle and white dog. Super filled and turned head with wicked expression. Mouth fault. Straight front and good angulation. Moved freely and with drive. Didn’t make the most of himself. Very close decision between 1 & 2.

Limit Dog (4 entries,2 absent)

1: Mundy’s Ukusa Hellacious. Large upstanding solid red dog. Powerful head with good turn and finish. Misplaced tooth. Lovely reach of neck and straight front with neat feet. Prefer more angulation behind. Lacks drive on the move. Super showman.
