I was really looking forward to this appointment as It was the first time of awarding CCs to Labradors, a breed which I have followed for many years. I had a lovely day and was very impressed by the quality of the entry and the pleasant atmosphere around the ring. I would like to thank all those exhibitors who entered their dogs under me.


MPD 4, 1

1 Percival’s Wynfaul The Wicked. Nice outline displaying strength but not overdone. Well balanced head, medium size eye. Good bone. Nice depth of chest & forechest for age. Good bend of stifle. Good quality coat & neat feet. Moved soundly. 

2 Cook’s Exelby Salsola. Similar comments apply. Well constructed throughout. Just preferred eye & expression of winner. Moved well when settled. Good coat and well angulated fore & aft.

1 Druggan’s Mafia Lab's Taboo Webster At Balladoole. Best Puppy. Best mover in class, really strode out and moved straight fore & aft. Nice compact outline. Lovely head, well balanced with intelligent expression and not overdone in any way. Good bone. Excellent lay of shoulder & return of upperarm. Good length & strength of neck. Nice depth of chest. 

2 Druggan’s A Sense of Pleasure's El Toro At Balladoole (Imp DEU). Nice outline with excellent depth and width of chest for age. Well proportioned in head with large open nose and pleasing eye and expression. Good topline; excellent bend of stifle and good tailset. Coat of good texture and thickness, tight feet. 

3 Gilroy’s Albian's Athos Cum Claychalk (Imp BUL)

2 Dawson’s Binnaig Bayamo. Not the movement of the winner but has a nice outline. Well proportioned head and nice ear carriage; would prefer a less rounded eye. Excellent forechest. Nice topline and excellent width of upper & lower thigh. 

3 Ferguson’s Holsky Big Gun

1 Logan’s Madgack Mulberry Minocqua. Nicely balanced and the best mover in class. Loved his well balanced head, intelligent eye & expression and large open nose. Good ear carriage. Excellent forechest, lay of shoulder & return of upper arm. Nice depth of chest. Good topline and pleasing width of upper & lower thigh. Nice coat.

2 Renick’s Dentonside Aramis. Another nice one with compact outline. Not carrying any excess weight. Just preferred the head & expression of winner. Excellent spring of ribs going well back to strong loin. Nice feet. Coat a little soft.

3 Givan’s Sudeo Granite.

1 Gaskell’s Sharouns Ventriloquist For Tempaskell JW. Won on movement. Really moved freely. masculine head, eye & expression. Good width of skull but not overdone. Excellent front & rear angulation. Well muscled throughout. Excellent short, strong loin of good width. Nice tailset. Would prefer slightly tighter feet. Thick coat of good texture.

2 Mallin’s Play Full Team Man Incognito To Nillam (Imp MKD). Lovely compact outline. Well balanced head with pleasing eye and expression and large open nose. Good strength of neck & pleasing width of upper & lower thigh. Excellent depth of chest. Just not as true in front movement as winner.

3 Mullett & Maclean’s Shaymiloney Schinus Afinmore

1 Bold’s Shaymiloney Solsilvanus. Best outline in the class with nice topline. . Good length of leg compared to depth of body, Beautiful head, eye & expression; nice large open nose. Good ear carriage & earset. Strong neck of sufficient length. Excellent angulation fore & aft. Moved soundly with pleasing tail action. Thick coat of good texture.

2 Lawrence & Scrimgeour’s Velvetine Tempest With Dunnabbey. Another nice type. masculine head, nicely proportioned. Good width of chest. Nice spring of rib. Excellent width of upper & lower thigh. Shown in good coat & condition. Just not quite the front movement of the winner. 

3 Southwell’s Driffwold Blue Print JW

1 McCory’s Millroseglen Make My Day With Meadovillabs. Dog CC. Really liked this dog as he entered the ring. Lovely outline, nothing overdone. Very nice head, eye & expression. Nice earset & carriage. Strong neck of sufficient length. Excellent depth of chest & spring of rib. Nice short loin. Excellent width of upper & lower thigh. Moved soundly on neat feet really covering the ground well. Thick coat of good texture with good strong otter tail.

2 Parker’s Poniel Reason To Believe At Bruadarach. Res CC. Another nice type and similar to winner. Beautiful masculine head with lots of work in it. Sufficient bone. Nice length of leg & depth of body. Lovely angulation fore & aft. Correct topline and tailset; neat feet. Shown in excellent coat & condition. Just slightly preferred the movement of the winner. 

3 Allen, Hess & Jordan’s Tampa Bay's Marco Polo For Eagle Pond (Imp USA)

1 Percival’s Wynfaul The Wizard JW. Very nice compact outline displaying strength. Excellent angulation fore & aft. Shown in excellent muscular condition. Shedding coat quite badly but obviously coat of good texture. Lovely head with nice width of skull & muzzle; pleasing intelligent eye & expression. Moved soundly on neat feet. 

2 Mclean’s Afinmore Alain JW ShCM. Very nice outline and well made throughout. Lovely head with intelligent expression. Lots of work in the head. Nice earset & carriage. Excellent bone, length of leg & depth of chest. Lovely topline & tailset. Close up to winner.

1 Gartland’s Knoydar Reagan. Won on shortness of loin and soundness of front movement. Nice head, good pigmentation & excellent width of skull & muzzle. Excellent angulation fore & aft. Good bone and excellent spring of rib. Nice coat texture. Moved soundly. 

2 Roberts’s Sh Ch Stormrose Morning Jewel JW ShCM. In lovely condition for 10 years. Masculine head with nice eye & intelligent expression. Strong neck & well-laid shoulders. Good bone and pleasing width of upper & lower thigh. Moved well really striding out to cover the ground.

1 Rolland’s Poniel Peanaidh At Strathlana. Very nicely developed for age. Excellent angulation fore & aft. Lovely head with feminine expression. Excellent spring of rib & depth of chest. Moved well on neat feet.

2 Gilroy’s Renee Cum Claychalk Victor-Victoria's TAF. Another nice type with lovely head & excellent coat texture. Nicely made throughout with lovely short loin. Beautiful head, eye & expression & large open nose. Excellent width of upper & lower thigh. Just carrying slightly too much weight

1 Fairgrieve’s Alkaruss Simply The Best. Lovely temperament. Beautiful head, eye & expression and excellent pigmentation. Nice ear carriage and large open nose. Good forechest for age. Nice angulation fore & aft and correct tailset. Excellent width of upper & lower thigh. Nice short length & strength of loin. Moved freely & soundly when settled. Shown in good coat & muscular condition. 

2 Milligan’s Mariank Encore. Lovely outline, just slightly preferred the head of winner. Well constructed throughout. Nice topline, good short loin & not carrying any excess weight. Moved well fore & aft. Good coat & shown in strong muscular condition. 

3 McGillivray’s Woefdrams American Abbygail With Antonine (Imp NLD)

JB 7, 1

1 Pollock’s Pollham Morar. Really stood out in this class on my first look around. Lovely to go over, so very well balanced throughout. Sufficient bone & nice in outline. Lovely head, eye & expression with good pigmentation. Excellent harsh coat & shown in excellent muscular condition. Good tailset. Moved with drive on neat feet - a little close behind on the move, as were others in this class.

2 Lewis’s Ramsayville Rags To Riches At Crammondkirk. Another lovely type with very pretty head & expression. Nice open nose and good ear shape and carriage. Excellent angulation fore & aft and strong, shortloin. Coat of good harsh texture. Moved well on neat feet. Not quite the front movement of the winner.

1 Lewis’s Crammondkirk Rogue Gossip JW. Very well handled. Lovely outline. Well proportioned head with pleasing eye and expression; uses ears well. Excellent lay of shoulder & return of upperarm. Good bone and excellent forechest for age. Good spring of rib leading back to short, strong loin. Nice topline and tailset. Moved soundly with nice tail action. 

2 McCory’s Meadovillabs Shooting Star. Very compact & feminine. Lovely head, just preferred expression & use of ears of winner. Excellent strength of neck & good width of upper & lower thigh. Moved well on neat feet. 

3 Scrimgeour’s Velvetine The Bride.

1 Gardner’s Rewari Eureka. Preferred head & outline of winner here. Nice compact, strong outline. Well balanced head, well shaped ears which she used well; large open nose. Excellent lay of shoulder & return of upper & lower arm. Good forechest & width of chest. Excellent spring of rib and strong, short loin. Moved well and happily on neat feet. 

2 Bell’s Westerulston Nola. A little longer cast overall; good bone. Nice eye shape and expression. Neck of good length and sufficient strength. Good width of upper & lower thigh. Correct topline and tailset; neat feet.

PGB 5 

1 Roberts’s Stormrose Sweet Memories. 1 & 2 quite close up although of different types. Just preferred profile & movement of winner. Sweet head & expression with nice pigmentation. Very happy disposition. Excellent lay of shoulder & return of upperarm. Nice quality bone; good spring of rib and correct topline. Coat of harsh texture; good tailset & action. 

2 Nicol’s Saranden Shoshone At Holsky. Very pleasing bitch. Lovely eye & expression. Sufficient width of skull & good earset. Nicely angulated fore & aft and compact outline. Shown in good coat and condition. Didn’t hold her topline at times as well on the move as my winner.

3 Scrimgeour’s Velvetine Dream Chaser

1 Gawthorpe’s Waterbrook Pillow Talk. Red CC. Very pretty and feminine with lovely head, pleasing eye & intelligent expression. Nice earset & carriage. Sufficient bone. Strong neck of sufficient length. Good width of chest & well sprung ribs. Pleasing width of upper & lower thigh. Moved soundly fore & aft with drive & nice tail carriage. 

2 Pollock’s Pollham Freya. Very compact outline with excellent angulation throughout. Feminine head with pleasing eye and expression. Lovely quality harsh coat. Nice depth of chest & spring of rib and wide over loin. Good topline. Well let down hocks and correct tailset. Just preferred movement of my winner.

3 Dawson’s Beskerby Singsong.

1 Stafford’s Sh Ch Arrowmoy Fairytale of New York Farnfield (IKC). Bitch CC & BOB. I was so delighted to watch her win the strong Gundog Group. Very pretty bitch shown in lovely coat & muscular condition who never put a foot wrong. Feminine head with lovely eye & expression and large open nose. Nice ear carriage. Good strength and length of neck. Excellent lay of shoulder & width of upper & lower thigh. Nice bone & feet. Not carrying an ounce of extra weight and looking as if she could do a day’s work. Moved very soundly coming and going holding her topline and tail well on the moved.

2 Brambles’s Sh Ch Shaymiloney Stormin Norma JW. Nice outline. Well proportioned head with good width of skull & muzzle but not overdone. Good ear carriage. Excellent angulation fore & aft. Quality bone & correct topline. Not quite the movement of the winner.

3 McGillivray’s Antonine Honolulu JW

1 Scrimgeour’s Velvetine Shawnee ShCM. Best Veteran. Very nice condition for 10 years. Lovely coat of harsh texture. Nicely proportioned head with intelligent eye & expression. Good ear carriage. Excellent width & depth of chest. Nice topline; well let down hocks. Moved soundly fore & aft on neat feet. 

2 Lawrence’s Trendlewood Perfect Ten. Nice bitch just a little longer cast than my winner. Nicely proportioned head with well shaped eye & large open nose. Good strength of neck & nice lay of shoulder. Good bone & bend of stifle. Moved well really covering the ground.
