East Of England Agricultural Society

My sincere thanks to the officers and committee of the East of England Agricultural Society for the invitation to judge Hungarian Wirehaird Vizslas and my thanks for the breed enthusiasts for supporting my entry on what I am sure will prove to be one of the hottest shows days of the year. 

Temperaments were without exception superb. I would have preferred a little more weight on some and a little less on others, the dogs coped very well with the heat, with most appearing undeterred.

1. Spillanes Belamrar Jupiter Pleasing male very sound on the move and true coming and going correct moderate stop and well off for rib also benefits from moderate rear angulation nice arch to neck would prefer more length of rib if I was being picky maintained his level topline on the move. 

Post Graduate Dog (3 entries, 2 absentees) 

1. McNeils Auchinner Fionn Liked the size of this chap correct proportions good strong level topline with slightly sloping croup excels in chest lovely harsh dense coat with correct facial furnishings would prefer a touch less stop to complete an otherwise smart outline. 

Open Dog (8 entries, 3 absentees) 

1. Uptons Sh Ch Tragus Fox Appeal this chap was handled and presented in first class order a superb dense harsh coat melting head and expression so sound on the move in all respects excels in depth of chest and moderately angulated to the rear pleased to award him BD & BOB he was later shortlisted in the group. 

2. Newmans Zoldmali Szeles Morganna JW (IMP SRB) Slightly longer than 1 very sound constructed with upstanding male just needs a little body and time to complete and otherwise eye-catching picture scores in fore construction with laid back shoulders and well angulated upper arm RBD.

Puppy Bitch (1 entry) 

1. Thompson Moricroft Custom Made Stood alone but quality all the same so feminine with the most gentle expression and attitude lovely moderate stop and correctly proportioned head lovely wire jacket in emergence moderately angulated to the rear moves free and with rear drive BP. 

Junior Bitch (2 entries) 

1. Byrne Aldozovolgyi-Drotos Nyuzsgo at Enryb (Imp Hun) Appreciated the size and proportions of this lady feminine but workmanlike all the same moderately angulated to the rear nice amount of bone skull slightly longer than muzzle topline could have been more settled but I could forgive this in the heat. 

2. McNeil Fassfields Pride Rock Absolutely oozed femininity and really well proportioned being slightly longer in body a pleasing type would prefer a harsher denser jacket to complete an otherwise pleasing picture. 

Post Graduate Bitch (4 entries, 2 absentees) 

1. Upton Tragus Honey Bee Liked the bone on this girl correctly proportioned body too excels in rib and depth of chest well off for rear angulation lovely head with soft expression level topline she didn't disappoint on the move pushed hard for higher honours. 

2. Issit Canterway Coree at Forgun This lady had a little less bone than 1 but not incorrect biddable and alert she moved soundly and enthusiastically given the heat would have preferred a touch more rear angulation. 

Open Bitch (5 entries) 

1. Newman Ch Morganna Star Anise JW ShCM There is no denying the quality of this girl excellent presentation and handled to full advantage presented in hard working condition moderate stop correct harsh dense coat well off for length of body moved with reach and drive but a little unsettled coming and going today which cost her higher honours BB 

2. Moss Electra Atlantis at Ewtor A younger bitch perhaps lacking a touch of maturity cracking level topline and lovely soft eye and expression really covered the ground with drive from the rear well constructed to the fore and rear RBB
