Gundog Society of Wales Championship Show

31st October 2018

Judge – Mrs Jane Eyeington (Meadowdale)

I would like to thank the committee for the kind invitation to judge at this lovely show. We were blessed with glorious weather for the time of year and able to show outside. A huge thank you to the exhibitors who braved the weekday traffic, I was delighted with the dogs I had the pleasure of judging

Irish Water Spaniels

Puppy Dog (2,1)

1. Mrs & Miss Busby - Stanegate Leading Role At Zakby

8 month old dog, showing lots of promise and just right for his age. He has a lovely overall shape when stood showing good balance. He has a masculine head, with good length to the foreface, eye starting to darken. His neck flowing well into his shoulders, topline a little soft at times, brisket down to the elbow and ribs showing good spring. Well angulated hindquarters. Coat a little fluffy at present but still able to see the ringlets. Moving out true and with drive – BP, delighted to see him be shortlisted in the puppy group.

Open Dog ( 1,0)

1. Mrs Carruthers - Sh Ch Gloi Donn All Or Nothing At Stanegate

What a showman, so very smart and at 3 years old knows how to flaunt it! He has quality in abundance, being of a nice size, with substance and masculinity. His head has the desired length to the foreface, lovely dark eye giving a kind yet cheeky expression. He has a lovely flow from nose to tail, nothing is out of place, with a good length of neck, firm topline, compact and with the correct tail set. Good depth and spring to the ribs and well boned limbs. Super hindquarters which show good width to the thigh and bend of stifle. All wrapped up in a coat of crisp ringlets, presented and shown to perfection. Moving with precise and powerful strides – BOB, shortlisted in a super group
