1. DIXON’S Ch Badgershill Lughaidh Correctly put together and, perfectly balanced to my eye, with excellent height to length ratio and matching angulation. Super shoulder and hocks well let down. Well-muscled and fit at seven and a half. Top bone with tight feet and correct pasterns. Deep chest with a good width, correctly set elbows and top front assembly. Strong topline held on the move with well carried stern. Took a while to get going, don’t think he could see the point, but when he did demonstrated one of the truest away and back movements and easy, ground covering profile gait typical of the breed. What a worthy Champion.BV

1. WATSON’S Scentall Zorro Saw him as a puppy, now two years old and still more to come with this lovely, slow maturing hound. Good, straight front. Excellent, deep brisket. Topline held well standing and on the move. Balanced front to hind angulation and good pasterns. Once settled, an excellent mover with super long, easy profile stride so correct for the breed. BSP

1. MCKENZIE’S Tessidez Bullen Of Moorlander 13 month, blanket black in superb coat. Nice clear eye. Excellent bone into strong pasterns and good feet. Strong, steady topline and well-set stern. Once settled his profile gait had scope and a good cadence. Needs to tighten up in front but still very much a youngster so no rush.

1. ROWLAND’S Castledee Moonlight Sky Well grown, 15 months with still so much more to come. The very best bone supporting his excellent, strong front and rear angulating. Super pasterns and feet as you would expect from the above. Good depth to brisket balanced to good prosternum. Well-developed thigh and second thigh. Very strong topline which did not faulter when moving. Shown in top condition and as fit as a young hound should be. Moved so soundly with scope and ease. CC lost out on maturity to the bitch for BoB.

1. PRIESTLEY Ch Railside Pluto At Quikotic Always loved this hound and could never understand why he hasn’t done more at group level. Beautifully constructed with an expert and sympathetic handler. For me, ticks the boxes for both the breed standard and KC health requirement. Could stand and watch his profile movement all day. Not showing his usual verve and just lost out to the younger dog’s excellent movement today in the challenge. RCC.

1. FORRET Marksbury Racy Of Culvercroft 7 year, red bitch not showing her age. Excellent reach of neck, nice length and curl to leathers. Super prosternum, front and rear angulation all held on a good level topline. Lovely easy, elastic movement.

1. ROWLAND’S Harvidene Mercedes At Castledee Beautifully balanced, 11mth with fore and hind angulation proportionate to body length and height. Still very much a baby and still to tighten up and come into her head which is how it should be. Excellent profile movement. BP

When she dropped into her hocks presented a well-proportioned profile, with correct height to length ratios and matching angles. Strong loin. Well-developed thigh and second thigh.
